Ok so I am bravely attempting to set up a new thread for anyone tTC.
Plug in your stats ...
Share the highs of your journey
Limit the lows - yes it's a challenging time but being negative gets you down.
I'm thinking positivity breeds positivity and positive thinking gets positive results -
It may take some of us a little longer than others ... but does that matter? I think not.

New rules - instead of saying af due ... we say bfp due ...

So here goes ... my stats
Age 38
Cycle 3
Bfp due 14/02

Haha I may have just peed on both an OPK and a IC Blush.... at 10dpo and about half an hour since my last wee! Why do I do these things to myself! Grr!

Hippychic79 · 06/02/2017 20:01

Rose - draw a picture of your baby ... this clearly works for you ... I can't believe how spot on you got it ... you must be a little psychic 😊

Salem ... step away from the sticks :)) just kidding ... let us know if you cave? I preferred pre seed to conceive plus but if you do get pre seed apparently (according to mumsnet users) you don't need as much as it states on the box ... I used 2mg instead of the stated 4 I think Hmm
Charley - I think the universe is telling you to hold off poas too Wink but hey ... if you cave you cave ... we all do it.
I'm starting to think about it but my will power is in full force at the moment (I'm ashamed to say it but I've smoked for a long time but I stopped a few wks ago and will never light up again... I am using the vape to quit so I feel a little bit like I'm cheating ... but I will be giving that up too soon)... sorry I digress !
Let me know how your will power holds out Salem and Charley xxx
Emh - enjoy your pineapple to the core
Xxx

When I got close to my af last month I was doing one opk & two ICs. I'd love to be able to pee on something but I'm 5dpo so completely pointless. In a way I like doing them early because I always dismiss negatives saying ahwell it was too early, makes it less gutting I think & then by the time AF arrives I've kinda slowly got myself used to the fact it's not happening this month. Plus because I've been off BC for such a long time if I get a chemical I'd rather know as otherwise I'm gonna have to start going down the infertility route. Somehow though I still fully believe I can conceive naturally if I put a proper effort in (wasnt really trying before)

Charley2016 · 06/02/2017 20:10

Yup and I have really bad cramps really low down in my hips!

Congrats on stopping smoking! I can only imagine how difficult that is, especially if you've done it for a long time. Well done too on managing to hold off. Think I'll pick up a FRER tomorrow to do on Wednesday and if that's negative too then I'll accept that I'm out.

Salem I hope your willpower has been better than mine today!

Evening ladies!! Hope you're all well and hello to the newbies!!! ☺️

sarahboro1 · 06/02/2017 20:19

Charley remember pma!! You're not out til she shows!! What cd are you on? Xx

Charley2016 · 06/02/2017 20:21

I'm 10dpo today Sarah. I really wanted to hold out this time! I might try and stay out the shops so that I can't buy a FRER tomorrow. How are you doing?

sarahboro1 · 06/02/2017 20:27

What's your 'usual' literal phase length?? If you need to poas then poas!! But please don't be disappointed til she's here!!!

I'm good thank you 😊 just been for a run so feeling all happy and healthy in preparation for fw next week!! Xx

Charley2016 · 06/02/2017 20:31

I'm not due on until Friday, maybe Thursday at the earliest. I think I'll work from home tomorrow and get dh to hide the car keys haha!

Glad you're feeling positive. The weather here is absolutely awful! I would love a walk to clear my head. Are you OPKing or anything this cycle?

mrsbarnettsbaby · 06/02/2017 20:50

Hey Sarah I've just been for a run too. VLM training! Assuming I don't conceive that is!

sarahboro1 · 06/02/2017 21:03

Lol charley be strong!! You can resist!! I'll start opks on Monday, with last months debacle I'd best track my ovulation!! Xx

Fab mrsb!! Makes me feel much better, although not at the time!! I know what you mean though, I've often thought all this hard work to get super fit and then I'll have to stop when I conceive!! Xx

Moo31 · 06/02/2017 21:03

Charley / rose - can I be stupid and ask what IC is? And also why would you poas opk coming up to af? There's clearly something I'm not clued in on here ...

I came home from work and oh had made dinner ... with peas! I gasped! He asked what was wrong ... i said someone on mn said garden peas are a natural contraceptive ... he laughed and said that's OK then as they are petit pois! He thinks I've gone crazy!

Ladies who are due to poas this week I'm impressed with your willpower! I was peeing from 10 dpo - I have no willpower! I have everything crossed for you! Hopefully those af like symptoms are pg symptom!

Moo31 · 06/02/2017 21:07

Also those who have been out running - impressed with your motivation! I love the idea of exercising but I'm just too lazy! Anyone do pilates? ... it sounds like it wouldn't be too energetic but i would feel better for having done something!

Hippychic79 · 06/02/2017 21:09

Thanks Charley - been smoking too long! Should have gave up years ago. I'm a plank!
I'm no good at cardio as a result but i go to the gym regularly- i do weights but I tend to ease off post ovulation as I worry I might prevent things happening.
Mrsb - we will all conceive soon Wink

Sarah - assuming I conceive I've already decided I'm buying the little nipper 360 buggy (my one big indulgence). I am determined to get out walking and then jogging as soon as possible. Although I know baby has to be at least 6 weeks before jogging with them in buggy. DP and I will take it in turns with buggy at Parkrun. I've told him that already!! Lol. Good luck everyone. X

Charley2016 · 06/02/2017 21:18

Moo an IC is internet cheapy. They are the ones off Amazon or eBay that are super cheap and meant to pick up from 10mlu although many people say they don't get positives until much later. Also HCG and LH are very similar so apparently in most cases, an OPK can also detect pregnancy and will go super positive when you are pregnant. Apparently.... Confused laughing at the peas! My dh made paella last night so if AF turns up it's clearly his fault lol

I'm really tall (6.1) and curvy but after dieting for the wedding, I had the "well I'm going to get fat when I'm instantly pregnant anyway" so between honeymoon, Christmas, birthday etc, I've sickeningly managed to put on 2.5 stone in 3months! I feel awful but have no willpower right now. I'm paying for weight watchers as well as takeaway deliveries Blush must make all you lovely healthy ladies determination rub off on me!

Roseandbee · 06/02/2017 21:21

Moo - IC is an internet cheapie pregnancy test. Opks can actually detect hcg aswell as LH so some people use them as a sort of pregnancy clue. But last cycle I discovered I often have an almost positive on opks so I can't really use it as an indicator. this cycle I used my opks until I got 3 days of negative after my first surge, just to make sure I'd ovulated as your body can sometime gear up for it and it not realese an egg & then it will try again with a second LH surge

Roseandbee · 06/02/2017 21:30

What diet did you do for your wedding charley? I ended up on the 5:2 for a year before my wedding. Gave it up straight after and have never weighed my self sinceHmm did weight watchers years ago too think I lost about 3 stone on it.

Well done for quitting hippy, my husband quit last year, he found vapes very helpful, I'm lucky to have never developed the habit, drinking is my nemesis. Well drinking and eating but I read somewhere that you need to do both those things in order to survive Wink

I have to look into this pea thing, I'm a pea addict. When they are in season I eat like half a kilo a day straight out the pod :-/

sweetcheeks24 · 06/02/2017 21:55

I'm so behind with the chat again already! 😝 What are buses?? Is this a MN term??
Hello to all the new ladies who have joined!
Belated bday wishes Charley and hope you have a great upcoming bday Salem!
I too am surprised by how hard it can be to differentiate between PG and AF symptoms - so cruel for Mother Nature to make them feel so similar and to occur around same time!
Everything crossed for you MrsBarnett!
Baking - hope you and the hubs manage to make make it back to the Burgh for your (dirty?! hehe) weekend soon!
I agree that it's lovely having you ladies to chat with about TTC - so isolating not being able to openly talk about it with friends. I think part of the reason it took DH ages to agree to TTC a second child is cos he can't bear how obsessed I become either symptom spotting etc!
I love the announcement pics! And also didn't know what IC meant. So many acronyms to get used to on MN! 😝
Moo, you are so on it with the summary of everyone's BFP dates! Impressed! I'm struggling to keep up!
Hope you're all feeling much better now Archies!
Hippy, awww so lovely that you and OH had a lovely romantic 2 days together! Me and DH desperately need to inject romance back into our lives.
Think that's me almost caught up now, phew! Sorry for mega long post.

bakingmad83 · 06/02/2017 22:00

Just trying to catch up with all the posts since my last one, but admit I'm not very good at remembering who said what after I've read a few. I never had a problem with my memory when pregnant, but since DS arrived I'm terrible!

I personally wouldn't get too worried about the peas - if they were such a good contraceptive the NHS would be dishing them out :) They're naturally rich in folic acid and better peas than sweets :)

Although I consider I've got a pretty good diet - my background is in nutrition - I found it had never been easier to eat well when I was pregnant. Such a big motivation when you're growing a little one inside you. Obviously eating well helps with ttc, but anyone still struggling you may find that once you're pregnant it's natural instinct. I never had cravings though, just went off sweet foods.

Day 2 of af ok - found since they've come back that they're less painful and go straight into full flow so a bit shorter. I run a couple of playgroups, so preparing for them is keeping me busy today. Felt a bit disappointed yesterday, as we managed to conceive DS 1st cycle, but I knew that probably wouldn't happen this time round. Here's to the next cycle!

sarahboro1 · 06/02/2017 22:05

Ooo mrsb we may have to look at a 360 too as we're both runners!! I'm so determined to get right back on it , need to conceive first mind you!! 😂

I've never done Pilates moo but in my eyes any exercise is good exercise, even dtd!! 😉

I'm horrified at this pea thing they're my favourite veg!! I too eat them straight out of the garden by the bucket load!!! Xx

sarahboro1 · 06/02/2017 22:08

Hey baking, well done for staying positive, I'm on cd4 so nearly through af now. Mine have been far less painful lately, I've thrown up with the pain in the past but thankfully they're better now. Xx
