Hello there

Is there anyone else on here trying for their first baby around the same age as me? 25/26? Would love to talk to someone about it as I am currently driving my husband mad with all the TTC chat!

Symptom spotting here too & 2dpo - why do we do this to ourselves.

Screw the averages & fx for us all, defy being average Grin

Jellybabie3 · 07/12/2016 18:00

twisted

ttcnovice · 07/12/2016 18:04

I'm with you twisted who wants to be average anyway? Grin

charley2016 · 07/12/2016 18:13

Haha TTC I love that!!! I'm only 5dpo but not feeling anything so far, nipples have stopped hurting. I'm exhausted but that's just early mornings and late nights for work!

Sirry TMI moment.....Does anyone else track CM? I swear mines is always the white creamy kind!! Quite a lot inside but never anything outside Hmm wondering if that's a problem... only seen EWCM once and it was at about 10dpo last month!

ttcnovice · 07/12/2016 18:39

I'm the same as you charley I've never had any CM (or - TMI - other discharge even) outside, so have been wondering how normal that is/isn't. I've not checked inside, but I might have a go next month if this month is unsuccessful.

DH is actually a doctor, but is beyond useless at anything to do with conception and the female anatomy (in a medical sense Grin) in general, so he's been no use in all of this so far!

Twistedsister7 · 07/12/2016 18:52

I don't notice much ewcm either, started to think maybe something wrong lol but think I'm just oblivious. Need to pay attention I think.

charley2016 · 07/12/2016 19:07

Hmm just been on good old google and it says not enough water and too much caffeine can make CM creamy and stop the swimmers getting in as good as they should... I never drink water and drink around 4L of Coke Zero a day Hmm

MrsG280516 · 07/12/2016 19:35

Maybe cut down on the Coke Zero charley, although it's very low calorie the sweeteners in it aren't healthy at all if you're drinking that much x

charley2016 · 07/12/2016 20:08

Yeh I know! It's definitely my naughty habit! I cut it out before but found I replaced it with food and I can't afford to do that at the moment after putting in a ton of weight after the wedding haha!

ttcnovice · 08/12/2016 08:26

Morning, how is everyone feeling, any more symptom spotting? I've had nothing at all since yesterday afternoon, so it was definitely all in my head!

We're off to visit some friends tonight who've just had their first DC. It'll be lovely to have cuddles with a nice, squishy newborn, but I know I'll feel a pang of jealousy too!

Twistedsister7 · 08/12/2016 11:20

Totally symptom spotting. Hot flashes, dizziness, cramps & very tired. I have to remind myself that a lot of the tiredness is normal for me & I get dizziness & migraines frequently so it's not symptoms at all but my brain wants to live in hope.

So many friends have had babies or announced pregnancies this year. I'm so happy for them & wish them all well but part of me just feels really isolated. No one talks about conception so I'm left with the image that all these babies were just easy to get & here I am methodically planning & obsessing. This is why I am glad I found this thread.

clairet88 · 08/12/2016 11:28

Hi There,

I am 28 (by 4 days!) and my boyfriend decided as a birthday present we could start trying for baby no.1! I am very excited but also nervous as i've had numerous tests etc for hormonal issues (high prolactin and irregular bleeding etc). I also seem to have a very long cycle Confused

Any words of advice or tips would be very welcome!

Claire

ttcnovice · 08/12/2016 11:48

Completely agree twisted it's as though every baby is planned and then conceived the next day! It's definitely a relief to be able to talk it through on here with others in the same boat.

Welcome claire Smile it's exciting when you decide to start trying isn't it! Have you downloaded any tracking apps? A lot of us on here have been doing OPK tests too (with varying reliability!) which you might find useful if your cycle isn't always the same length. Good luck!

clairet88 · 08/12/2016 12:07

Thanks ttc

I'm still getting used to the lingo... I was convinced DPO was 'days post orgasm' originally Grin !!!

I have downloaded Ovia and a period tracking app (P Tracker) onto my phone and ordered some eBay ovulation sticks and cheapie pregnancy tests. I have also started some conception vitamins from Superdrug so feel like I am sort of prepared! I'm seeing this month as a bit of a test run as I was two weeks into my cycle when we first tried. (Also gobsmacked the OH decided he was ready for a baby!)

Will be lovely to hear from others in the same boat, my closest friends are waiting a bit longer to start families so I don't really have anyone to speak to!

Good luck to everyone trying!

Glitterbubble · 08/12/2016 17:22

Hello ladies, not really be on here since I joined a few days ago. But now 6dpo and getting a little obsessed, even though this month is only a test run really. AF due 13th according to Ovia... clutching at straws and desperate to test ...going away for a long weekend ...hoping it will take my mind off it Xmas Hmm

Iwasbornin1993 · 09/12/2016 15:20

Days post orgasm claire ShockGrin brilliant!

Hope you have a nice weekend away glitter, sure it will distract you... if only a little anyway!

Amz26 · 09/12/2016 17:27

Hi all
Can I join?

I am 26 and TTC #1 :) I came off the pill just over week ago after being on it for around a year. I've had a tiny amount of CM with blood in it but haven't had anything else yet! I've been reading this thread for a few days now so thought I'd say hello as its nice to talk to people going through the same thing.. I haven't told anyone that me and my OH are TTC so it's to share my thoughts and experiences with you as I think I've already drove my other half are bit crazy.

88claire · 09/12/2016 20:51

So I made quite a large error today... I picked up one of the ovulation sticks instead of the pregnancy ones.... needless to say I almost fell over when the faint line appeared. Composed myself and realised it was the wrong one! So turns out I'm neither ovulating or pregnant! (I knew it was too early to do the pregnancy test but though what they hell!) whoopsie Blush!!

ttcnovice · 09/12/2016 22:24

Hi Amz Smile welcome!

Oh no claire Shock** that must have been awful when you realised!!

RasperryInAMelon · 09/12/2016 22:38

I'm interested to know ladies... at a fairly young age, TTC for the first time. Those of you who are using ovulation tests - how long have you been trying?

A friend of mine has been trying for two months (first time) and has started buying tests already, I'm worried that she's obsessing over it already and that could hinder her chances?

Twistedsister7 · 10/12/2016 01:02

Raspberry I'm in first cycle & using ovulation tests. It's about getting to know your body, potentially after years of tricking it with hormones. For me it was reassuring to know I was in fact ovulating as I should rather then coercing my dh into sex & baby making. Try not to judge & be there to support if she is going to far. It's easily done.

Amz26 · 10/12/2016 01:28

Twisted how long did it take for you to get your first AF after coming off your birth control? still waiting for mine :(

is it possible to ovulate after 1st day of stopping the pill? I'm sure you can but just wanted to make sure!! I know it's unlikely but in theory I could of missed my ovulation this cycle 🤔

Twistedsister7 · 10/12/2016 09:40

Amz I still haven't. Ovia now predicts 19/12 based on data like ovulation tests I guess. I had about 3/4 days of light spotting & bloody cm 2 weeks after removal though x

RasperryInAMelon · 10/12/2016 10:24

Twisted we're you on the pill before TTC? How long for and how long have you been off of it?

Twistedsister7 · 10/12/2016 10:48

Implant as bc, was removed 7/11. First time ttc. I had periods (or so I thought) last year on bc & based on that data I was due AF on 21/11. Never happened bar the spotting mentioned below. That's why I started on OPKs & so reassuring to find I was working. Lol. It was quite scary though & even did pregnancy tests but all bfn. Af now predicted for 19/12 so we will see.

Ttc is hard & made me realise I was quite uninformed on the technicalities.
