Hello there

Is there anyone else on here trying for their first baby around the same age as me? 25/26? Would love to talk to someone about it as I am currently driving my husband mad with all the TTC chat!

I've had what I think is pains for the first time this month the day of ov. Sharp pain left side for around 30 mins and then a streak of blood when wiping. That was Friday and I've been crampy with extremely sensitive nipples all weekend.

pinksparkles88 · 04/12/2016 22:38

Think it must have been ovulation day as I had v faint lines 10 days leading up to and then went back to barely any line the day after. I did get cramping in one side which must have been ovulation pain. Ttcnovice- it's so obvious not drinking at this time of year! We had hubby's family over for weekend and went to xmas markets so I had two drinks over the 9 hours we were out while everyone else was drinking loads, don't want to tell people we are trying but they must be v suspicious now. AF is due next weekend so at least I'll know before xmas but so hoping I won't be able to drink!!

ttcnovice · 04/12/2016 22:49

Does sound like ovulation symptoms for you both charley and pink!

I know what you mean about it being suspicious pink, both my DM and MIL are eager for us to start having DC following our wedding, so I feel like they'll pick up on any signs! AF due on the 16th for me, Fx for a sober Christmas for us all Xmas GrinBrew

mrsjkerry · 05/12/2016 06:52

Are your husbands stopping the drink too?

firsttimer12345 · 05/12/2016 07:41

My DH definitely is not stopping the booze. We had dinner at his parents last night where I avoided not only the booze, but the pate and the Brie too! Really hope no one noticed. He drank/ate enough for us both.

mrsjkerry · 05/12/2016 08:04

Oh good! I was about to yell at mine for not giving it up too! He said he doesn't need to...and I don't drink anyway!

ttcnovice · 05/12/2016 10:48

My DH is giving it up too, but we're not really drinkers anyway to be honest. I think we might try to pass it off as a big health kick, if it's both of us it will hopefully be less noticeable!

pinksparkles88 · 05/12/2016 17:28

Mine's not giving up either, would feel bad asking him to at this stage, especially with all the xmas parties! Will reconsider if still here in a few months time though!

charley2016 · 05/12/2016 20:18

I definitely think it was ovulation... how can that only have been a few days ago Confused blooming 2ww takes so long haha!!

Me or my DH haven't given up drinking. As soon as I did people would assume I was already pregnant and I couldn't handle that. I doubt DH will go cold turkey with me when the time does come but then I don't really mind either way. If we don't have any luck over Xmas and new year though I think I'll start watching food/drink/dust etc

Twistedsister7 · 06/12/2016 09:06

I'm now in the 2ww & promised myself not to go psycho. I'm also not getting my hopes up as we only dtd once in the time frame. I see it as this was my first cycle learning & trying to convince myself I really didn't expect anything. Lol.

I haven't given up drinking but probably more cautious about volumes. I like my wine so people would notice. When the time comes I will feign antibiotics.

Good luck to all else in the dreaded 2ww.

ttcnovice · 06/12/2016 13:12

Good luck charley and twisted Smile when is AF due for you both? Due on the 16th for me, so going to try to resist the temptation to test before then!

charley2016 · 06/12/2016 13:37

Ovia is saying I'm due on the 14th but I think based on my ovulation I will be more like the 15th or 16th. Hating the wait as usual but not symptom spotting like I did the last month at least!

Twistedsister7 · 06/12/2016 13:46

AF due on 19th but this will be first real cycle after implant removal. Odd because everything else is on track like ovulation so it's like I just skipped af altogether.

It's really our first month ttc so not getting my hopes up & consoling myself with the idea that at least I won't have to be tee total for Christmas. And if I did conceive now I'd be heavily pregnant through the summer. Small consolation but it helps with the reality check I have to keep giving myself.

pinksparkles88 · 06/12/2016 19:07

I'm trying not to get my hopes up at it's our first proper month trying but it's so hard not to. Someone brought an ultrasound scan to work today and it made me all mushy!

Twistedsister7 · 06/12/2016 19:51

It's hard isn't it. A colleague bought his newborn son a xmas outfit & I nearly cried.

ttcnovice · 06/12/2016 22:19

Everyone around me is pregnant at the moment, it seems like a lot more celebrities than usual are too! A close friend is due in June so hoping we won't be too far behind.

I wonder what the statistics are for conceiving in the first month of trying though? Not high at all I'd guess!

pinksparkles88 · 06/12/2016 22:31

30% apparently ttc! Thought it would be a lot lower!

ttcnovice · 06/12/2016 23:33

Oh wow, I'm quite shocked at that! Not as much of a long shot as I expected! 2ww is going to feel even longer now Grin

MrsG280516 · 07/12/2016 09:28

This link is really useful to calculate your chances of conceiving in any given cycle: www.countdowntopregnancy.com/tools/age_fertility_calculator.php

Obviously based on couples who have no fertility issues but its pretty interesting.

pinksparkles88 · 07/12/2016 11:06

Thanks MrsG, I've got 20% chance this month then. Probs not gonna be my month!

ttcnovice · 07/12/2016 16:24

25% chance for me pink so not much better! Fx we're both in the minority!

Thanks for the link MrsG Smile

Twistedsister7 · 07/12/2016 16:40

15% for me, down to earth with a bump Sad

Jellybabie3 · 07/12/2016 17:14

Same for me twisted Sad and i have been sat here thinking a dull ache near my ovarie was a sure thing! Probably pulled a muscle sigh

ttcnovice · 07/12/2016 17:24

Try not to be too disheartened twisted and jelly, things like that are done on averages, and when do they ever work out?

I've been symptom spotting today too jelly even though at 3DPO it's far too soon to be Blush. Had some cramping and a strange taste whilst eating lunch today, but it must just be in my head!

charley2016 · 07/12/2016 17:28

Mines says 25% but I'm not sure I'm taking it as that Hmm we will all just have to wait and see with crossed fingers I suppose.
