Hello there

Is there anyone else on here trying for their first baby around the same age as me? 25/26? Would love to talk to someone about it as I am currently driving my husband mad with all the TTC chat!

Bought a bundle of OPKs today...Been doing a lot of reading and the app I've been using will predict a standard fertile period. A lot of women using the OPKs say the app is about 5-10 days off! So this is a better way of guessing ideal times I guess! Husband says we're to have sex everyday this cycle and see what happens Halo

Alwaysnumber1 - did you get your period??

alwaysnumber1 · 12/11/2016 12:43

Lucky you mrsjkerry lol

I have loads of the opks tried one out of excitement lol

Still waiting here 8days late still cramps and sore boob (only the left lol) on and of
Had bad cramps last night in bed and this morning on waking up so thought had finally turned up but nothing 😢

alwaysnumber1 · 12/11/2016 20:07

can i have a bit of a moan?

feeling rubbish today

same cramps but stronger kept my self busy all day to try and distract myself, spent the day building flat pack furniture put the last one together hated all four of them so took them apart again even though nothing wrong then sat and cried for no reason
been snacking all day on and off then did myself something to eat - a propper meal and now feel sick

feeling very sorry for myself :(

Frankier88 · 12/11/2016 20:18

Always - are you sure you're not pregnant already?

I'm 27 weeks now and this sounds very like early pregnancy symptoms - especially the crying part! (That continues btw ;) )
I also had cramping on and off for the first couple of months.
Fingers crossed for you!

Can I join? 32 & ttc #1 as we approach our first wedding anniversary. My implant was removed Monday eve & I've downloaded Ovia. We dtd on Wednesday & already I've hoping despite knowing it's highly unlikely. I promised DH I would not get obsessed but I can already see myself breaking that promise.

Does anyone else use Ovia & find it reliable? I'm guessing I might be better getting some OPKs?

alwaysnumber1 · 12/11/2016 20:35

we dtd four and five days before the 'correct' time so very unlikely i would of this month
i did do a test and another this morning due to being 9 days late but negative as i though they would be

im just feeling sorry for my self i think :(

alwaysnumber1 · 12/11/2016 20:46

hello twisted :)

iv brought loads of OPKs as AF turns up every 28 days (normaly) so i got them to pin down the corret day but havnt used them yet

i dont know much about ovia

MrsG280516 · 12/11/2016 20:50

Hi twisted Ovia is only accurate if you input accurate data, i.e. fertile signs such as egg white cervical mucus (EWCM) cervical position or things like positive OPKs. If none of these things are entered, it will assume you have a "normal" cycle and ovulate exactly 14 days before AF is due. Which isn't the case for some people.

Twistedsister7 · 12/11/2016 21:01

Thanks for the tip. I have never really noticed any mucus but I guess maybe I was unaware to notice. Also maybe contraception means I'm not fully into the swing of things as it were. I think I will invest in OPKs next payday & try to sneakily do them. Lol. Don't get me wrong DH is fully onboard but would rather let nature take its course.

MrsG280516 · 12/11/2016 21:32

We were going to just go with the flow too but I think it's hard not to get a bit obsessed! You can get 30 OPKs from Amazon or eBay for less than £4 so you needn't spend a fortune :) most people use the One Step strips, they're fairly easy to use/read :)

Tinkerbell2319 · 12/11/2016 23:08

Can I join?

I'm 24 and TTC #1

Been "not trying not to" since July but actively trying since September

Early days but getting more anxious as each month passes ... bought a load of OPKs this month from eBay - really hoping I don't need to use the amount I bought :/

mrsjkerry · 13/11/2016 08:17

Twisted - I have been using Ovia for three months. It's good for the articles and the information and to keep track of when you DTD. However, I used OPKs throughout all my fertile period according to Ovia and never got a positive reading. This month I am going to continue using Ovia because I like the countdown to pregnancy test and email updates, but I've also bought the test strips from amazon - 50 of them for £10 so I can test pretty much everyday this cycle. I'm hoping I'll be able to pin down ovulation, and I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't match up with Ovia's predictions.

Alwaysnumber1 - it's possible a pregnancy test isn't picking it up. What type are you using? What time of day? Could you go to the doctor and get them to do a blood test? I did do some reading on this and some women do claim that a pregnancy test didn't pick their pregnancy up for ages and they had to go to GP for confirmation...

10 days and still no AFHmm

Still cramping and feeling sick after eating and feeling tearful

Did my last test on the of chance (cheap sainsburys own one) and just because had one left and as I expected was negative

Going to try book back in doctors see what they say but got the feeling its just a case of waiting for AF to turn up

How is everyone else today?

mrsjkerry · 13/11/2016 14:53

Keep waiting it out and keep testing! The more reading you do the more people you find who only get positives 2-3 weeks after missed period and some people never get a positive result on a home test at all!! Where's your partner this weekend? Is he supportive?

Period ending today. Back on the baby wagon immediately...! 30 days and I can test again. Waiting is a pain in the ass.

Hey! I'm new here - I'm 28, recently married, and we're trying to conceive our first.

I went on the depo provera injection just after I turned 17 and had my last injection May this year which would have run out end of July - so had 11 years of it with no periods.

Coming off hasn't been too bad - sometimes it can take up to 2 years to get normal cycles again!

I'm now in my second cycle - CD 28, I ovulated on CD 18 (got positive OPK and my god I felt it happen!) so am now 10dpo.

My last cycle (the first one for 11 years) was only 26 days long and I suspect ovulation happened on CD18 as I had cramps then - that means I only had an 8 day luteal phase though which is very short but common for people coming off depo (yes - I've spent many an hour of Google lol).

So I feel like I'm already winning as this cycle is already two days longer - so either I'm baking one right now or my luteal phase is lengthening.

I do have some 'symptoms' but it seems early pregnancy symptoms and PMS are just too close to call.

Just have to play the waiting game I guess!!

alwaysnumber1 · 13/11/2016 15:37

Other half is working this weekend he is trying to be supportive but not very good with it as girl trouble as he calls it makes him uncomfortable lol

VirginiaClemmPoe · 13/11/2016 17:34

Hi Everyone, can I join in please?
26 nearly 27 and have been married for a year. Came off the pill at the end of last month so unsure to as when AF will arrive Sad.
I have been taking Folic Acid daily in preparation but I am turning into a bit of an obsessed lady at the moment!

mrsjkerry · 13/11/2016 17:50

Girl trouble! How will he deal with all the problems that come with pregnancy!? My husband just rolls his eyes at all the counting and then says that if we just have lots of sex, like two times a day, it'll happen anyway Hmm

OP posts:
alwaysnumber1 · 13/11/2016 18:06

he is trying and bless him he listens but doesnt really no what to say lol he is getting better though

Yeah thats what my other half said to lol cant we just have sex every day for it to happen so i had to explain about timeing ect

MrsG280516 · 13/11/2016 18:31

Hi Virginia it's different for everyone, it can be 3-8 weeks usually. You never know, some people get pregnant before they even get their first AF.

mrsjkerry · 13/11/2016 19:30

Many people say your body only lets you conceive at the right time...I can't help thinking that because we are moving house at the end of this month that my body knows now isn't exactly the right time, even if I desperately want it!

OP posts:
alwaysnumber1 · 13/11/2016 20:52

looks like AF has decided to turn up at last 10 days late but still
only light at the moment but thats pretty normal for me lower back is killing me which again is normal

mrsjkerry · 13/11/2016 22:37

You and me both alwaysnumber1!! Good luck

Hi ladies,
Well I should have ovulated on Sunday and we had absolutely loads of sex Friday-Today...lol!
DP is away for 4nts now for work so I guess I'm now entering my first ever 2ww. I now see how addictive it can become!
No EWCM at all though even though I had it every month whilst on the pill so unsure whether I'm ovulating. Will wait and see...
