Hi char sittingbourne is where the satellite clinic is going to be but not sure when opens. I'll let u know anymore info when I've been on Friday :)
I use onestep and clear blue smilie face one (but not dual hormone) have had positives with both. Also use the Ovia app which helps to track your cycle and gives u little insights-learnt loads about my cycle from that

Pez82 · 11/01/2017 11:42

Hi everhopeful, as to hear you're about to start the journey again. A full investigation seems like the right thing to do and I would do the same re second opinions. In the end, no matter what the outcome is there will always be a solution Smile

Yes, I used the one step ones (i got some slightly different one from an Amazon shop called babymad and those tend to get a bit darker but overall they seem exactly the same). And they do work!! Whenever I get my surge the second line appears almost instantly so now I base my positive result on speed of result rather than colour.

Pez82 · 11/01/2017 11:43

pickle, can you believe you're only 48h away!!?! So exciting!

Pez82 · 11/01/2017 11:44

ever the previous post was meant to say 'glad to hear' Wink

Char22thom · 11/01/2017 12:08

thanks for that Pickle, yes please let me know, Sittingbourne is sooooo close to me that would be great!! Hope your appointment goes well xx

pickle162 · 11/01/2017 12:17

Yeh me too char and just up the road from work too! Much easier! Ooh yeh I used babymad too and also got a much darker positive line.
I know pez I'm so friggin excited, just have to survive next couple of days of work first!
ever I agree totally work looking into
X

StorkAhoy · 11/01/2017 13:25

Greetings from Prague! I'm at a conference that I wouldn't have attended if I had got a bfp, but alas, here I am! I am not sad, I am wistful, and focussed on the now!

Ps, It's minus 17 and snowy!

ever ooh that's my clinic! I really like them. And yes genetic testing is a good idea I think, but yes, you are right it would be awful to find out that it could have been prevented. Best of luck. Also, they aren't using cryos bank any longer btw, now sure if you knew that? It's their bank or European sperm bank only now.

pickle so exciting! Is this the protocol consult, or the donor consult? Regardless, my advice would be, Write all your questions out on paper, with big gaps for the answers! I also turn up at my DC with a big binder with everything in it. Bring your ovia info too re cycle duration as they may ask. And question everything. If there was ever a time to ask for clarification on everything it is now!

And enjoy this step in your journey!!! Perhaps do a little video for yourself before or after about how your feeling? I'm video logging my journey for my future baby and it's nice to be able to reflect myself too.

pez good luck identifying your ovulation, I really hate trying to twig mine!!

kwick how goes it hdoesn't hey?

Char22thom · 11/01/2017 13:28

Would ppl recommend taking multivitamins at this stage or wait? I've been looking at the seven seas conception ones but don't know of I'm getting ahead of myself? X

StorkAhoy · 11/01/2017 13:28

kwick no idea what that is saying, but I meant to say: hi, how goes it?!

And ever forgot to say, your strength is incredible and a real inspiration. What you went through, I can't imagine, I'm so so very sorry for your loss, and I sincerely wish you only the very best. You and darling Mabel are in my prayers, as are all you ladies on here.

Pez82 · 11/01/2017 14:00

I've tested twice while in the office today - people must think I have an upset tummy or something ah ah Grin
What I find difficult is to force myself not to drink too much and also 4h without going to the bathroom is a long time!!!

char I started vitamins and fertility food 4 months ago! I had to stop the multivitamin though as something in it (I suspect vit B6) was stopping me from ovulating. When are you thinking of starting fertility treatment?

Char22thom · 11/01/2017 14:05

Not 100% sure, depends on a number of factors, I think it will be march/april time hopefully xx

Pez82 · 11/01/2017 15:27

Quite soon then Smile. You should definitely start taking folic acid and vitamin D. Most of the other vitamins you can get from eating the right food. I also seriously reduced my caffeine and alcohol intake 4 months ago and started taking CoQ10, maca, royal jelly etc to improve egg health.
There is a lot you can find on the internet about this. I found this page was quite good natural-fertility-info.com/increase-egg-health

pickle162 · 11/01/2017 16:03

I'm taking Superdrug own vit d and folic acid-have now been on for about a month-surprising how much better I feel on them-think I may continue with vit d forever!!!
I've got my book with questions ready, Ovia is on phone. I even have a litttle diary with predicted dates etc
It's just my first appointment I don't really know what's gonna happen but it's going in the right direction and that's all that matters

I know right-not peeing for 4hours kills me- at work I'm lucky if I get to pee at all so apart form logistics of it that'll be easy. When I'm home I pee at least every hour!!!!

INeedNewShoes · 11/01/2017 16:14

Don't be going yourselves urine infections ladies reducing liquids and crossing your legs Wink There's a balance to be struck and I found that the four hour rule doesn't need to be strictly adhered to. Remember that dehydration impacts on egg growth/quality.

Char22thom · 11/01/2017 16:15

How exciting for you pickle you sound so organised, how are you feeling about it now its almost here? Have you been waiting for the appointment for a while? Thanks for the advice pez, I don't want to get carried away but also dont want to waste time if there are things I should be doing! I don't have any caffeine anyhow and have given up alcohol since the new year, so that's good! Have read about full fat milk too? Thanks for the link too x

kwick · 11/01/2017 18:06

ever nice to see you again. So glad that you are feeling stronger. What an inspiration you are.
Do you have PCOS? You may want to take a lookat this supplement - "Inofolic". Just google it. Claims to help with fertility.
I used the One Step opks off Amazon (but the HPTs are pants).

pickle SO EXCITING!!!! I hope you are feeling prepared? You should do oh jedi-in-training Wink

stork minus 17 you say? Fcuk!!!
I am well thanks... early scan next week - gulp. Getting womble cramps every afternoon. Trying to eat healthy food...

char I would say you should start on the supplements asap - have you read It starts with the egg?
I am the blue milk lady Grin

I may Be a little OCD! Haha Jedi in training I love it kwick
Yeh feel as prepared as I can be!
I had my amh test done in Dec char and booked an appointment for Friday then, they could have done 6th but I was at work and anything I can book on my day off I will :)
I don't like milk so I will need to just increase my natural yoghurt instead as pretty much only dairy product that doesn't make me poorly-lacto babies are not fun!!

kwick · 11/01/2017 20:30

May the force be with you pickle

I am watching yesterday's This Morning on catch-up - they had a section on fertility, interesting but nothing I did not already know.

I am a piggywiggy: got what I can only describe as a craving today for Taramasalata... yummy to satisfy! Grin

OP posts:
pickle162 · 11/01/2017 20:39

I had a giant Yorkshire pudding with sausages, roasted shallots, mushrooms and tomatoes and gravy!yum!
Ooh I might watch on catch up! I love phil and holly!

HopingForALittleOne · 11/01/2017 21:39

Hey pickle fingers crossed you get the second line soon!
Do you mind me asking do you pee on stick in work or pee in container and then dip stick in ?

At home I always pee in small glass jar ( TMi sorry) and then dip the stick but paranoid I might look bit weird going to loo with my little glass jar or washing it in sink after lol. also wonder if will record in same way?

I'm so excited for you! I started spotting today so I'll be joining you in two weeks xxx

INeedNewShoes · 11/01/2017 21:50

I always opt for a jar as my aim is rubbish! I just carried around a mini systema salad dressing pot in a make up bag along with the ovulation tests.

Do you have any toilets at work with a sink in the cubicle?

I kept the test horizontal while I washed the pot but after that put it back in its wrapper in my make up bag until it had fully developed. It didn't seem to adversely affect the test.

kwick · 11/01/2017 21:50

hoping I have always pissed in a pot - otherwise things could get very messy Blush

OP posts:
Pez82 · 11/01/2017 22:07

You make me laugh Grin
Today I did a combo, both poas and in a pot in one go (well one straight after the other really!). I picked a plastic cup from the water fountain at work, put it in my handbag and took the bag to the loo, and then got rid of the cup in the bin - easy! I couldn't really wait for the results so I put them back in their wrapper and into my handbag and for rid of them when I got home Smile

Still no surge for me... going back for a scan at 12:20 tomorrow. Definitely got a lot of ewcm last night so the big O is on its way!!

HopingForALittleOne · 11/01/2017 22:12

Good feel assured everyone and thanks for the tips. I think I'm swayed by your plastic cup method pickle :) forgot to think about the sticks so like the makeup bag idea :)

How you feeling kwick - has it sunk in now and does it feel real? X

HopingForALittleOne · 11/01/2017 22:13

Oops sorry I meant pez!
