Hugh enjoys ISW and his love affair with Doreen. He watches out for skittle tits and weepyitis. Mrs Arseholey Fucknut (Af) shows up when you least want her but brings wine and soft cheese as a consolation prize.

We don't have rules as such but expect to be talked down from the ledge with kind and well meaning but firm words if you get too hysterical. But most importantly don't convince yourself you're pregnant in the tww That is paramount! It messes with your head and makes you crazy crazier

We don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts. We want a fanny full of determined Doreen, not unicorn farts and gnome tears with extra sparkle. We've been going a while now so the novelty has somewhat worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area.

Post your stats and add your dates. A more lovely, supportive group of ladies you couldn't wish to meet. We like it when the grads stick around. No question is too daft. We have opk experts, cervical mucus management teams and symptom spotters extraudinaire!

Oh Jem you poor thing Flowers. Let yourself cry as much as you need to, it's much better than keeping it all bottled up.

Make yourself tea, eat biscuits and buy something mindless and fun online. I often treat myself to some Bobbi Brown products when I need cheering up - on the basis that they always add free gifts to online orders which are usually really good travel-sized goodies. Ergo, it's actually saving me money Halo

So, we may not have babies, but we can at least enjoy looking rested and healthy with fewer sleep-deprivation-induced wrinkles :)

Si1ver · 07/10/2016 12:06

Thanks for all the kind thoughts. FX for you Snarky

I'm off to see my best friend today as I promised to do an overnight shift wit her three month old twins so she can sleep through the night. I'm going to be a mess tomorrow.

LondonJem · 07/10/2016 12:07

I really do need tea and biscuits but the cat has chosen this moment to make himself comfortable on my knee. I'm sure they know when you are upset. Bless him.

Online shopping is an idea though... thanks hon Flowers

Hi London not really, keep popping to the loo to check though. I'm not really getting cramps anymore either, just the occasion pain that feels like a stitch- just like you get when running. Also the boobs, oh the boobs, they are driving me crazy! Apart from that, if I wasn't obsessively tracking my cycle, I probably wouldn't know she was on her way. Also, not got the usual acne barrage.

I do temp usually Inspector but my thermometer died a few days after O, and there were a few rogue temps in there, so not sure if I can trust them entirely. So it is definitely possible that I'm not as far post O as I thought. Though ewcm backed up my estimates. As far as I'm aware, I'm now 16dpo. I wouldn't worry too much about discussing the ins and outs of conception with you future kids, definitely not a reason not to try the pipette. If you go for it and it does work, you can tell your kids that you wanted them so much that this is what you went through to have them- if it comes up at all!

music will definitely test again with fmu tomorrow if she hasn't arrived by then- I'm such a coward when it comes to POAS!

Trying not to get my hopes up, but is impossible to ignore! Hooray for the weekend. Am off to see my sister. Anyone else got any exciting plans?

SnarkyGorgon · 07/10/2016 12:17

Argh, X post. So sorry London, it's awful when it catches you unexpectedly like that. Sending very unMN hugs

sk1pper · 07/10/2016 12:18

My plans are sex mainly.

Nah I'm sure we'll go for a walk or something too Grin

harrietm87 · 07/10/2016 13:13

Hi everyone. This thread moves so fast I don't think I've managed to catch up properly yet.

hep my next AF is due 1 Nov. not actually TTC until January so just being a lurker and supporter for all of you for now!

I've started to get a bit paranoid though because my last 3 AFs have been really light and short - like 3 days. Since I had the coil out (in jan) they've been medium heavy and about 5 days, which felt normal. I put the first two down to the stress of wedding planning and I was doing loads of exercise, but I had glorious relaxing honeymoon and a month off the gym so can't explain the last one and starting to worry.

Have any of you/would you consider paying for a private fertility check? In London looks like they're about £400 which is a lot!

Mummyh2016 · 07/10/2016 13:39

Happy Friday everyone!

Can't decide if I'm out or not. Had cramps last night and first thing this morning. My last two AF have come as a surprise though so that doesn't necessary mean anything for me? Did have a bit of a dicky tummy this morning so think I'll blame the cramps on that! I seem to have a heightened sense of smell compared to my colleague, I don't know whether she just can't smell or whether that is telling me something Grin
Lost count of the number of times I've been to the toilet to check my knickers. Don't think I'm due until Sunday, was planning to test Tuesday. Going to be a long wait I think unless it arrives soon Sad

InspectorPenguin · 07/10/2016 14:27

Wow Silver that is very kind of you! I hope it goes well, your friend will be so grateful I'm sure.

Harriet my periods have been very light and short since coming off the pill (in Jan) too. They last about 36 hours but I'm sure they were more like 4-5 days as a teenager. I worry too that it's bad for fertility, but then I've Googled it a lot and plenty of people appear to fall pregnant with the same light AF.

I've been looking at private tests a lot too. £400 is cheap! I'm in a town about 60 miles from London and there's only one clinic here so they have a total monopoly and charge very high prices as a result; it's £540 here!

Still umming and ahhing about booking in for private tests in the next couple of months. DH is going to get a semen analysis next week though, on the grounds that that's the easiest potential issue to identify and will help us decide next steps.

HepKestrel · 07/10/2016 14:41

Mummyh you're not out till your out. LSFX for you and everyone.

so Had a nice catch up with friend yesterday. She is the only one to know we are ttc, and i had told her about the mc. She has always been a twat-magnet, but has finally found a nice guy. been with him 4 months. She told me they are already ttc ?? (she is 34).

Am I allowed to be a bitch and hope she doesn't get pg before me? I know, it is a bitchy thought. But i will be so unhappy. I know, IAVBU and I have no right. I do wish her well.

AlexiaB · 07/10/2016 15:06

Gosh this thread is moving so quickly! I've barely been able to keep up after a busy few days.

Inspector yes DH has to abstain. He had a wank late last night (I've got AF) and that's it now until Monday afternoon. I was told he had to abstain for more than 48hrs but no more than 5 days, so I figured somewhere around 3-4 would be ideal. I would recommend Create Fertility to anyone wanting to go private. The SA is £95 and results back in a couple hours via email. They also do a female fertility MOT for £200. I think harriet was just asking about this too? Also, nope it wasn't me with the pipette thing, I think it was Alice trying them with mooncups or something similar?

Jem your Gran is a trooper at 92Flowers I hope she's okay. Also hope you're feeling better after a good cry. I always find it helps and Cake. I had a similar huge cry earlier this week when I read a friend's post on Facebook about how today was the day she woke up and her world was changed forever when she found out she was pregnant (and now has her beautiful daughter). I couldn't stop crying because I had just started my period and I comparing myself to where she was in her life and how happy she was. Ugh never helpful.

Hep that's totally normal. You're not a bitch, I've felt like that many times. Plus she hasn't been with him long has sheHmm

I know I've missed loads, going to have another read through in a min. Hope everyone's having a good day and looking forward to the weekendGrin

HepKestrel · 07/10/2016 15:18

oh..... btw.... 7 days to go ! (still counting)

though no point in opk-ing until after first AF as hormones could make them unreliable .......

AlexiaB · 07/10/2016 15:21

Welcome wantingSmile I use cheapie OPKs too and other have given you great advice already.

Sorry about AF silver Flowers You're a good friend!

skipper I'm taking vit d, folic acid, b-complex, omega 3 and vit c daily. I've dropped Vitex and EPO. I think I'll give the egg thing a read Kwick, thanks! Hope you can get the Rash sorted Flowers

Mouse ouch back ache is never fun. Can you take anything to relieve your pain?

Snarky oh how annoying that your thermometer died and left you in limbo! Keeping LSFX for you and everyone else who's testing soon!

harriet while you're waiting to TTC I'd recommend temping so you know what cycle does re. ovulation and luteal phase length etc. I wish I'd started years ago! Also, as I mentioned above check out Create Fertility, much cheaper!

InspectorPenguin · 07/10/2016 15:21

Hep that's perfectly natural, of course it is. You're only human!

Four months is incredibly quick - although DP and I started trying after 12 so not really that much longer. It will a tough pill to swallow if she does get pregnant very quickly, but your situation - being in a secure long term relationship and having all the emotional intimacy and security that brings with it - is far preferable.

Just think of all then fun stuff they'll miss out on if they have babies that quickly - their honeymoon period will be non-existent!

sk1pper · 07/10/2016 15:35

On the positive hep imagine if you fall at similar times. You'll have moral support during you're pg leave and can do stuff together, it will be really nice especially as your both first timers.

HepKestrel · 07/10/2016 15:40

sk1pper thats what my friend is hoping for !!
penguin yes I am in the office today Sad though only got here for 10am. Need to work tomorrow as well Sad

HepKestrel · 07/10/2016 15:44

wow .... just counted :
1 in limboland
4 of us (ok, i am living vicariously through you all - don't judge) due this weekend
10 due next week !!!

wowsers..

LondonJem · 07/10/2016 15:58

Fx mummy

Hep I would feel the same re your friend! 7 days - not long now

Alexia you're right it was Alex apologies for my mix up

Second the Create Fertility- that's where we had DH SA done

10 of us due next week wow! Got to be at least a couple of bfps in there...

MouseLove · 07/10/2016 18:12

Conference over. Back was actually ok. BUT I had the strangest pain on the left side like in front of my hip for about an hour this afternoon.... never had that before!!! Having chippy tea tonight. YUM!

Hep, totally normal. I'm not a jealous person but when I see people with their partners for 5 mins and have babies I want to cry. It's not fair. But then I remember life isn't fair.

Harriet I personally wouldn't go down the testing route unless you haven't conceived after TTC. Without trying first you won't have any data to refer back on. Probably would be a waste of money if you "catch" straight away naturally.

Inspector what cycle are you on?

Alexia thanks Hun, yeah I'm taking paracetamol but some days it doesn't touch it. I'm in the middle of moving doctors to the same one as DH so as soon as I can, I think I'm gonna have to get an appointment about it. Only been putting it off about 5 years. (Yep, I know) Confused

London sorry about your Gran. At that age they pretty much have no f's to give about anything lol. Seen a lot, done a lot. Just awesome humans. I can only hope I reach that kinda age. My nanna was 90! X Flowers

InspectorPenguin · 07/10/2016 18:27

Sounds like something is definitely happening, Mouse. Either ovulation pains or maybe even something implantation-related?.. Have you been using OPKs since coming off the pill?

I'm just about to start cycle 8, so not an unexpected amount of time to wait at all, but I'd like to know we don't have medical issues sooner rather than later given how slow everything is in the NHS and the fact I'm about to hit 36...

sk1pper · 07/10/2016 18:43

Been thinking...an Autumn baby would be good, the weather gets all rainy and windy and you could just snuggle inside with your newborn. Come summer, you've got all the expertise and confidence to take the baby wherever you want and enjoy the sunshine.

harrietm87 · 07/10/2016 19:05

Hello hello
Thanks inspector that's reassuring re the light periods. Obviously a part of me is still worried because there's been a change in mine - I had the copper coil (so no hormones) and that was removed 9 months ago, so why are suddenly really light and short from 3 months ago?

mouse you're right about waiting to have the test. I guess I'm just worried because of (a) my chemical pregnancy in feb and (b) the weird period change and also want to feel like I'm doing something while waiting to TTC! I think though I will take alexias advice and start temping. I ordered a load of opks today as well.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

harrietm87 · 07/10/2016 19:07

Ps skipper I agree! I would love to have a little one by next Xmas as well - sept/October would be perfect.

Musicgrrl · 07/10/2016 19:23

skipper good point! Also I thought I read that kids born in the first half of the academic year do better on average at school. All good reasons not to conceive until Januay! Although I think I'll take the gamble - ha.

AlexiaB · 07/10/2016 19:33

I agree ladies! I'd love to have a Sept/Oct/Nov baby. That's made it easier to deal with my anovulatory cycle this month because although I'd have been happy to conceive, I would rather avoid a summer baby for heat/schooling reasons.

Mouse glad your back wasn't too bad today. Hope the GP transition goes smoothly and you can get to the bottom of it quickly.

harriet temping is a good ideaSmile I did write my top temping tips a few pages back actually.
