Hugh enjoys ISW and his love affair with Doreen. He watches out for skittle tits and weepyitis. Mrs Arseholey Fucknut (Af) shows up when you least want her but brings wine and soft cheese as a consolation prize.

We don't have rules as such but expect to be talked down from the ledge with kind and well meaning but firm words if you get too hysterical. But most importantly don't convince yourself you're pregnant in the tww That is paramount! It messes with your head and makes you crazy crazier

We don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts. We want a fanny full of determined Doreen, not unicorn farts and gnome tears with extra sparkle. We've been going a while now so the novelty has somewhat worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area.

Post your stats and add your dates. A more lovely, supportive group of ladies you couldn't wish to meet. We like it when the grads stick around. No question is too daft. We have opk experts, cervical mucus management teams and symptom spotters extraudinaire!

kwick there's only so many hotel shower gels you can use though!

I have an almost always packed toiletry bag packed. First morning here, in the shower, picked up the shower-puff to use, turned it over...... Dead wasp in it .... I admit there was audible yelp/ scream!!

InspectorPenguin · 06/10/2016 07:45

Glad the chat went well Skipper. That sounds much more encouraging now - you must be feeling like a bit of a weight has lifted.

Good luck with the SA on Monday Alexia! Does that mean you have to abstain from DTD over the weekend?

Looks like there is a big run of testing coming up over the next week. We are bound to have some more BFPs from that lot!

Very sure it won't be from my camp I'm afraid: zero boob swelling or soreness (despite much prodding and squeezing Blush) and nothing else to note except my very normal splattering of spots and increasing grumpiness.

Hep and Kwik hope you're home soon and get to chill and relax (and placate cats) after your trips. Kwik there is no way I could do your job!

Margo5 · 06/10/2016 08:12

Thanks for the welcomes ladies! Smile

Loving that Inspectorpenguin and HelpKestrel (thanks for adding my date to the list) are picturing me as Penelope Keith, like to think of myself more like Felicity Kendall's character Barbara though Grin

Winging and Stargirl you can still be in chance of bfp if temp remains above coverline, hope this is still the case today!

Kwick I hope your feet are feeling better?

Inspectorpenguin I had bad night sweats just before my BFP in March but may have been just hormones

Alexia Sorry about AF - I know how you feel with the 'this time next year' thoughts you had last year! I feel like my life is on hold sometimes... Good about booking a SA for your DH - fingers crossed it is all normal.

Sk1pper Glad you found your talk with your mum useful and you held it together -(although mums give the best hugs!) your Nan sounds like she was a feisty lady that made me laugh!

Well, it's 6dpo today and had such a vivid dream last night - I never dream - is this a pregnancy symptom?! It was not a nice dream, I had a baby and forgot about him leaving him for a week before realising I hadn't fed him, changed his nappy etc, just left him in a room to fend for himself - very disturbing! Woke up before I found out if he was ok... Eek! Anyone else had strange dreams?

LondonJem · 06/10/2016 08:37

Lol at your grandma skipper sounds like your chat went well Smile cat hat - ours used to do that! Now he gets in with DH and is little spoon with his head on the pillow Hmm
Yours sounds a character hep!

Margo I tend to get vivid dreams during the TWW - I think it's all the progesterone pumping around. I'm 7 DPO so ours cycles are very close Smile

I should be implanting about now if egg and sperm have bonded. I've had some tummy pains and twinges but that could be anything. One more week of TWW to go... even after 10 months of trying this TWW still feels so long...

SnarkyGorgon · 06/10/2016 08:59

Thanks everyone. Still no AF, but had to go to bed with a hot water bottle between my legs last night thanks to hideous cramps. Was fully expecting to wake up to a Tarantino-style horror show this morning. But there was nothing. Boobs still sore and swollen (they normally settle down on AF day) and cramps are gone. The witch is messing with my brain!

LSFX to everyone in no-man's land at the mo

LondonJem · 06/10/2016 09:11

It's the worst bit of the cycle for me snarky there's always a voice in the back of my head that can't help but say but what if I am pregnant ????? Whist the rest of you braces for AF. Hang in there, here's hoping for a surprise BFP. We are due one!

SnarkyGorgon · 06/10/2016 09:54

Thanks London it's a bloody roller coaster of lunacy. Last night I cried all over my DP convinced that it was going to start any moment, and now this morning there's a little part of me thinking 'what if'. No matter how much I try to steel myself, AF sneaks around my defences and breaks my heart.

MrsG280516 · 06/10/2016 10:27

If my cycle plays ball this month I think I'll be testing around 4.11.16... very much doubt it will work out that way though.

Took my first temp this morning, 36.44, seems quite high but I'm still waiting for the hormones from the pill to leave my system I guess.

sk1pper I'm glad the talk with your mum was positive, hopefully you can get some more info from the doctor if you ask for endo tests.

FX for everyone due to test soon Smile

sk1pper · 06/10/2016 11:22

margo - vivid dreams are a pregnancy symptom, but I also get them in the 2ww - so as london has already said, it's all hormone related. Like most pg symptoms, it's never clear cut. Grr!

london - fx that the sperm had met the egg and now you have a very little bean nestling in :)

snarky - that's so annoying, I hope you have some news (one way or another) soon.

mrsg - what cycle day do you think you are?

MrsG280516 · 06/10/2016 11:34

I only finished my pill pack on Tuesday Sk1pper so just going to be trying to work out what my body does now. I usually have a withdrawal bleed on the Friday so going to count that as CD1 and see how long I go before the next AF comes.

LondonJem · 06/10/2016 13:25

That's exactly it snarky hang in there FlowersFlowers

WantingBaby1 · 06/10/2016 14:01

Hello!

First-timer here, ttc baby no.1

Age: 30
Came off pill (cerelle): 30 Aug
1st period: 3 October (felt like forever waiting!)

No idea when I'll ovulate having just finished a very heavy (thought my insides were falling out!! Quite a shock after having 2 years period-free!) but thankfully short first period since coming off cerelle. Have bought some cheapo ovulation strips from ebay - anyone used these with any success??

HepKestrel · 06/10/2016 14:08

Hello Wanting

yes, I have used those strips. they come with instructions.
My recommendation, is to get into a routine and use them the same time each day. for the first month, don't stress and just use them to learn your cycle. Your cycle may be messed up for the first few months, so do not stress too much.

make sure you are already taking folic acid.

WantingBaby1 · 06/10/2016 14:12

Thanks HepKestrel ! Have been on the folic acid and vitamin d for almost a month now, and I'm going to get hubby on the wellman vits.

I enjoy a coffee (regular sized, black) once a day, and a glass of wine most evenings. Do i need to give these up entirely if TTC??

HepKestrel · 06/10/2016 14:30

wanting

hell no !
keep your coffee/tea to a limit of 2 cups a day (that is the limit for pregnancy)

as for alcohol, some of us are sticking to under 5 units, but as long as you don't binge drink and take it easy in your tww its fine.

the most important thing is that you take it easy and don't stress. that is much more important than unit-couning. ttc is a marathon and not a sprint !

MouseLove · 06/10/2016 15:32

Welcome wanting. I'm so interested to hear your experiences coming off cerelle. I'm 21 days off it and had no AF as yet. I'm hoping it comes next week at 28 days but maybe not. I've had cramps this whole time. It's really doing my nut in if I'm honest. Waiting is the worse game. I've started temping to get into a habit with it. Hoping it helps over the next few cycles and I fall pregnant before Christmas (that's my dream come true plan) or next year hopefully.

InspectorPenguin · 06/10/2016 17:44

Any news Snarky?

Welcome Wanting! I think quite a few of us use the cheap OPK strips. I think they're perfectly good, I wouldn't pay for anything more expensive at this point. The ones you get in Superdrug etc. are exactly the same anyway, they just have a plastic case on top.
Here's hoping you're one of the lucky ones to get your BFP nice and early.

As for alcohol, I'm probably one of the worst offenders on here for not cutting back Blush
I was out three evenings last week and easily drank half a bottle of prosecco + wine/spirit each time. And it was just after ovulation... I honestly don't think it can do any harm (read an interesting article in DP's medical journal a few weeks ago that said as much) but then I am about enter cycle 8 so that might put you off Grin

How's the midpoint of TWW treating you Jem and Margo? I had a vivid dream a few days ago too, one of those ones where you don't know if it was real or not. That plus the epic night of sweating have been the only unusual events though.

I'm working from home tomorrow which is probably the single worst thing you can do when you're a couple of days away from test day. It's so busy when I'm in the office that I blissfully forget all about TTC, but at home it consumes me. I hate it Sad

sk1pper · 06/10/2016 18:10

wanting - welcome, cheap OPKs and pg tests are perfectly fine, just read the instructions and don't deviate. And I agree with hep - don't give up on everything you love. I have limited myself to one cup of coffee/tea a day by have organic decaf or fruit tea whenever I want. And drinking, never buy alcohol for the house but have a drink or two if I go out. If I want to drink more and I'm at the end of 2ww I will do a quick pg test just to check.

Work was soooo busy today, I was hoping to get offered a job today as I've been "borrowed" by another team and get on really well with them. But the job is two full time jobs rolled into one, on half the pay - I love them, but I'm not a mug. It's such a shame.

LondonJem · 06/10/2016 18:29

Welcome wanting I use cheapy OPK off amazon and they work perfectly for me. I have cut back on booze since TTC to try and get my body in a nice healthy place where it feels ready to create human life! But I am not giving up TTC is bad enough as it is! I actually think it makes more difference to men's fertility, having read an awful lot on it. The official line for men is max 5 units a week - that's like 2 pints! Shock

LondonJem · 06/10/2016 18:31

Inspector distraction is key. Work is good for me too. TWW is okay, I have been very distracted as my grandma is unwell in hospital so I've been driving up and down the motorway to see her and support my mum and family. As soon as I have a moment to myself my mind inevitably goes back to TTC Hmm

Starmist · 06/10/2016 19:06

Welcome wanting

Margo I'm in the 2ww & had a very vivid dream the other night about meeting Justin Timberlake on a train. He asked a girl out who was stood right next to me. It seems that dream-me doesn't have much luck either!

London I'm sorry to hear your grandma is poorly, I hope she's better soon xx

InspectorPenguin · 06/10/2016 19:10

Sorry to hear about your grandma, Jem. I hope she's on the mend soon and your mum is okay.

The long motorway journeys dealing with family illness can be draining experiences. I hope you have some good soundtracks to help take your mind off it Flowers

HepKestrel · 06/10/2016 19:13

sorry about your grandma Jem

sk1pper · 06/10/2016 20:24

Okay so it seems you can overdo it on supplements even if you try to keep to the recommended daily amounts - feel like I've taken something illegal, shakes, munchies and high energy. Yes I'm an idiot :(

I've just completely re-evaluated what I'm taking, anyone see anything glaringly bad about this list?

ALWAYS DAILY:
1 x bee propolis (500mg)
1 x fish oil (1000mg)
1 x Pregnacare multivitamin (mix of stuff inc folic acid)

PERIOD TO OVULATION DAILY:
1 x Evening Primrose Oil (1000mg)
1 x Vitamin E (100 IUIs)

OVULATION TO PERIOD DAILY:
1 x Vitamin C (500mg)

Forgot to factor in the multivitamin the first time...I will not sleep tonight.

Si1ver · 06/10/2016 20:36

I'm out, AF finally showed up.

Stick me down for 30th October for my next ticket. Let's see if I can give my husband a special wedding anniversary gift (give or take a week)
