Ready · 02/02/2007 15:16

Or should that read Mad TTCers and March Hopefuls??

Thought that I would start a March thread as from tomorrow I will no longer be eligible for the February thread. Of course I will be lurking and keeping fingers crossed for those still in with a shout... but it's time to move on.

Who's with me???

Hello everyone... adding me to the roll call
I am easy to remember this month as my CD day is the date... CD21 OV day for me too today so fingers crossed...

I agree the OV tests are expensive and if people bd according to the tests it could very easy to miss the right window

But I think OV sticks are useful if you get lucky enough to use them on the right day. Even more useful if you have a regular cycle and test for a couple of months using consecutive daily testing to determine your fertile period. It's expensive with high st tests, but there are cheap bulk options.

This month I have been using the CBFM where you daily wee (fertile period) and test for estrogen and LH surge. What I did find soooo useful is that it identified we were stopping too early and so far it been a very reliable predictor of OV.

As a back up I used some of the Access Diagnostics Home Advanced OV tests which are cheaper than the high st ones. Whilst both the CBFM and OV sticks matched, I was amazed how the window of getting a positive from all of them (which I did) can be so narrow. If you wee on them every day at the same time you see the surge building up and going. But if you were to randomly test every other day it would be easy to miss altogether

Hope this helps

lissielou · 22/02/2007 08:59

dont blame you scorpio

fruitful · 22/02/2007 09:46

Morning all.

Both children sat and looked at their breakfasts this morning and ate not a mouthful. So have packed dd off to school on an empty stomach, and ds is happily crashing toy cars next to me. In wet trousers cos his wretched nappy has leaked after only an hour and I've come on MN rather than change it.

I cuddled my 5-wk-old niece at the weekend, she is gorgeous. Want one! Actually I would quite like a pink one next time - they're such fun to dress, its like having a doll. Plus I can see a lot of beautiful outfits coming our way. (obviously that is completely superficial and I don't really mind what I get!)

I noticed in that article on the BBC news website that they refer to cm as "cervical secretions". Couldn't bring themselves to type 'mucus' I think! Shall we send them some helpful pictures?

fruitful · 22/02/2007 09:48

Hello Lissie!

I like OPKs. I like occasionally peeing on a stick and having two lines come up. Is this sad?

lissielou · 22/02/2007 11:11

JARM · 22/02/2007 11:14

Im in a mess cycle wise, have been "losely" ttc for 3 months... here's the lowdown on my cyles lol
