MAD HATTERS AND MARCH HARES????? IN HERE!

1000 replies

Ready · 02/02/2007 15:16

Or should that read Mad TTCers and March Hopefuls??

Thought that I would start a March thread as from tomorrow I will no longer be eligible for the February thread. Of course I will be lurking and keeping fingers crossed for those still in with a shout... but it's time to move on.

Who's with me???

congrats peanutbutter!!! did u chart your bbt or else?how long have u tried?

peanutbutter · 13/03/2007 10:50

fresco, we've been trying since the end of summer and I did give the ovulation test kits a go but, since all they did was confirm I ovulated slap bang in the middle of my cycle, (I knew that because of getting pains around my ovaries at that time) they were a bit of waste of money - just wanted to be doing something iyswim! So, just made sure we did the deed every night from CD10 to CD17 and fortunately it's happened eventually.

Oh and I also made sure I didn't go to the toilet after sex, something I would normally do immediately without thinking, but I'm sure you all know that bit already

jhyesmum · 13/03/2007 15:39

OOOOOOOh! I always run to the loo after BD!

goingfor3 · 13/03/2007 16:36

I'm sure I read that the sperm will reach the ovaries, or where ever it is they are heading, within five minutes so as long as you wait that long it should be fine.

fleacircus · 13/03/2007 17:51

I thought they swam and inch every fifteen minutes. Have no idea where I've got that from though, might just have made it up.

fleacircus · 13/03/2007 17:52

Can't type at all today... swam an inch, obviously.

jhyesmum · 13/03/2007 17:52

Best not rush off in future! Thinking about it - DH is probably gutted that I rush off straight after!

What about doing a head stand after!?

goingfor3 · 13/03/2007 18:09

I think left to their own devices they swim an inch every fifteen minutes but ejaculation and uterine contractions get them in the right place very quickley.

Congrats peanut butter. Fantastic news. So glad this thread is getting a bit luckier

fresco · 13/03/2007 21:05

does it matter in case of leakage after the business is done?there must be millions of wee fishes swimming inside, they must be finding somewhere to go?

cazzybabs · 13/03/2007 21:11

well some adive I read on MN whilst TTC number 2 was tht one should put ons hips on a pillow for 20 minutes after the deed

I have since found that fact on other websties too! I am not coninved but do try and lie still for 20 minutes afterwards!

PeachyClair · 13/03/2007 21:26

Actually I tried the hips thing with ds1, 2 and 3 and all were conceived in 6 weeks (was younger then LOL). So I do think that helps myself. Sperm can live 4 - 5 days after ejaculation, and you want them erm, high up- the vagina is quite a hostile environment apparently.

TMI !!!!!!

gillian1973 · 13/03/2007 21:31

Definatley a fan of the old pillow under the hips trick. If any of you know the bridge position in pilates or the shoulder stand in yoga, I tend to try them too (when DH is not around or he would laugh his head off at me )

jhyesmum · 14/03/2007 16:41

No more coughing it out!! Lots of headstands instead!

fruitful · 14/03/2007 17:43

I usually just lie there long enough for dh to make me a mug of hot chocolate. Which is probably about 20 minutes actually.

I think if you have EWCM they swim up in that don't they?

"Come on lads! Jump in! Its lovely once you're in!"

jhyesmum · 14/03/2007 18:19

blimey fruitful - you've got him well trained!!

fruitful · 14/03/2007 18:50

Yeah, dh has his Kettle Proficiency Certificate.

When dd was about 2.5, I was sat on the floor crying over a disaster I was having at the time, and she saw me, took one look, turned around and walked off. Oh no I thought, now I've traumatised her for life too. Then she reappeared with a toy teacup and gave it to me. Dh has obviously trained her to provide tea in all circumstances. Thinking about it, ds (24m) is always bringing me cups of "tea" too. Train 'em young.

Right, I'm 8dpo today. If you start at 0 on the day you ovulate and the day after is 1dpo is that right? I've had very mild crampy period pains on and off today. I never ever get a period before 13dpo. So, am I allowed to get hopeful that this was implantation?

Or perhaps I always get cramps on and off and I should stop symptom-spotting?

PeachyClair · 14/03/2007 19:35

Well my cyle is out of sync again- definite ov pains today, not sue for a few dyas- BUT my AF last month was messed up too (had a kidney infection). Typically Dh not feeling too well, managed to eprsuade him but now feel like a bit of a baby-predator LOL

My DH not so well trained with the kettle but excellent with nappies etc so more than balances (well it does when you an almost-four year old in nappies still). Mind you, I often think I'm a bit odd compared to my friends, in that I actually like my DH!

Odd or what?
