Ttc number 2!

Hello! Anyone thinking of ttc number 2? I have a 6 month old baby and don't want a big age gap between babies. AF has been a bit erratic over the past few months but DH and I have decided to make next month the first month of ttc. Anyone else sort of in the same boat?

I'm not sure. You could've missed the Lh surge? What cycle day are you on? I would test again tonight and then again tomorrow maybe

I'm Cd 15, cycles are 26-28 days. I've never used OPKs before so actually don't know when I ovulate. Yeah was going to test tonight to see.
Congratulations btw Sonnet

wherethefuckisthefuckingtuna · 03/09/2016 17:28

Maybe you missed it Sairdy, I would DTD just in case Wink

How are you feeling sonnet? Super excited? Really made up for you

Sonnet18 · 03/09/2016 17:34

You could have a slightly shorter luteal phase (like me!) so you could still ovulate within a day or two? Or perhaps this cycle may be around 28 days? Do your cycles ever vary in length?

Oh thanks! Its so surreal still!! I even took a clearblue just to check!!

So chuffed for you sonnet! Middle of May EDD sounds lovely. How big will your gap be then? 16months?

So far this cycle seems to be quite different to the previous ones. I've got a decent line on OPKs today ( not yet positive). I know it could still be a while before I get a positive but I've never had anything close to a line this early in previous cycles (CD11). I also had a big dip in temp this morning. Although that doesn't necessarily mean anything - am hoping for a rise soon!

Ttc number 2!
Sonnet18 · 03/09/2016 18:13

I don't understand temping so can't comment on that! I'm guessing the ovulation test will be positive maybe by tomorrow or next day? What's your normal cycle length?

Aw, thanks! Yep, a May baby will do me nicely! It'll be a 15 month gap between the two of them, which sounds small but I'm sure it'll all be fine (she says naively)

SairdyJane25 · 03/09/2016 18:27

Definitely plan on dtd tonight, DH is very excited! Hehe the longest my cycle has been is 29 but that was just the once. They are always between 26-28 days. Hmmm I wasn't going to let myself become obsessed this time round but looks like that's gone out the window!!

PurpleHaze1 · 03/09/2016 18:42

Sounds like we're roughly in sync sairdy. Fingers crossed we both get a BFP this month!

I think I'll just try to have sex as much as possible the next few days. From what I've read the dip doesn't really indicate anything - it's a rise I need to confirm ovulation Smile

PurpleHaze1 · 04/09/2016 08:52

Bottom test is from just now. Think that's a positive! CD12 of a 28 day cycle so it's pretty perfect timing, Maybe this is my cycle only just settling down after the implant? Who knows! Just need to get shagging Grin

Ttc number 2!
MmmMalbec · 04/09/2016 09:08

Yeah definitely a positive Purple! I usually have a temp dip just before ovulation. Think it's the increased estrogen. Maybe the b6 is bringing your ovulation forward? I've read plenty of posts saying that happened to them. Good luck this month!

Sonnet18 · 04/09/2016 10:12

Yep that's definitely a positive! Yay!

My best friend sent around a pic of her 12 week scan yesterday which was tough particularly as I'd have been due just a month after her but trying to remain positive that now my bleeding has stopped we can hopefully start ttcing again soon.

Think I'm going to use OPKs again this cycle as I conceived the first month I used them. Have also been thinking about temping, anyone know if you need to start at the beginning of a cycle or if I started now would that be OK as I must be fairly close to the start?

great positive there Purple!

MmmMalbec · 04/09/2016 10:53

Sorry Mrs, hope you're ok. Yeah start temping when you want. Even 4/5 temps before you ovulate should show your temp shift! I never bothered temping from the start. Wasn't worth the hassle!

loztredders · 04/09/2016 11:06

I'm sorry that you've had the upset of seeing a friends scan picture Mrs. It's awful isn't it cuz you really do feel happy for friends when they announce etc yet at the same time gutted for yourself. That's how I felt after my first miscarriage anyway.
It seemed like everyone was announcing and because I was 12 weeks it felt like my chance to announce had been taken away.

Still. It's good that you've stopped bleeding now as it means your body is ready to start ttc again with this new cycle.

I can't help with temping as I've never done it but I have seen people start mid cycle as you'd still presumably see the temp rise.

Do you know roughly where you are in your cycle?
Last miscarriage I counted the first day of proper bleeding as CD1 and then I had my positive opk cd 15. So for me my body got back to normal straight away - unfortunately I didn't conceive that cycle but it was good to know I could have done.

Hope26 · 04/09/2016 12:57

Hi all

Ttc number 2, I have a dd who is 17 months, she needs a sibling to play with now.

I was bfing, so got my period after a year. And then it stopped and came back so it has been erratic. Last month we tried to conceive, AF turned up which was disappointing. I ovulated very late in my cycle, cd25 and AF turned up 6 days after. I usually used to ovulate cd16-18 pre pregnancy.

I hope my body gets back to normal, tested today, not fertile, will keep you ladies posted.

Hope we all get our positive result soon!!

Sonnet18 · 04/09/2016 13:25

Aw sorry mrs, it's so hard, isn't it? Did your friend know you'd been pregnant?

Welcome hope! What cycle day are you on? After my baby I was getting my period about 8 days after ovulation so I know how you feel about the short luteal phase. I took vitamin b last cycle. Not sure if it helped or my body just sorted itself out but maybe worth a shot!

PurpleHaze1 · 04/09/2016 13:40

Oh mrs Sad it's so difficult isn't it?

Welcome hope. Same as sonnet, I've been taking vitB for a short LP and given that I got a positive OPK today (cd12), it seems to be working!

MrsY87 · 04/09/2016 14:13

Its exactly that,** I'm so happy for her but at the same time so sad for myself. She didn't know I was pregnant but has been through a miscarriage herself this year so she will know how I'm feeling as I'm sure I'll tell her about the miscarriage at some point as she knows we are ttc.

Think I'm somewhere between cd7-9 depending on what day I count as first day of bleeding so hopefully ov will be somewhere in the next 7-10days. Think I may give temping a go then if you don't have to start at the start of the cycle.

Welcome hope, hopefully your cycles sort themselves out soon!

MrsY87 · 04/09/2016 14:28

Oops not sure what happened with the bold, didn't look like that when I typed it!! Blush

Sonnet18 · 04/09/2016 19:02

Fingers crossed mrs that you get pregnant soon. MCs are awful. For me, they totally ruin your next experience with pregnancy. I was a nervous wreck until around week 25 last time. Really sorry that this has happened to you but it seems like you have the right attitude.

OP posts:
MrsY87 · 04/09/2016 19:25

Thanks sonnet I think I just naively thought that #2 would be as straightforward as #1, I'm sure my time will come not necessarily this cycle but hopefully soon!

Has your BFP sunk in yet?!

northernlass81 · 04/09/2016 19:30

Hi lovely ladies. Can I join you please? I've a 17 month old boy and we've just decided to try for number 2 as of yesterday. It took us 6 months to get pregnant with our first and surprisingly got pregnant in the month when we only dtd once; just lucky timing! I've always said I won't get obsessed with ttc again, but I can't lie that I'm excited and nervous. Little does my husband know that I've been tracking cycles for the last few months already - pretty regular 28/29 days and on cd7 at the mo. Fingers crossed for some BFPs coming our way soon and congratualtions to those that have already.

PurpleHaze1 · 04/09/2016 20:15

Welcome north Smile

Sonnet18 · 04/09/2016 21:15

No! It still feels surreal and I'm a tad guarded about it due to past experiences...i think because it's so early and I have no symptoms etc so it's almost easy to forget!!

Welcome northern! So is this your first month ttc or are you holding off until next month?

OP posts:
northernlass81 · 05/09/2016 20:18

We'll try this month, so this month is our first back trying. My cycles have been pretty regular so looking like this weekend is good timing for dtd.
