Hi girls
Yesmum - I'm keeping my fingers crossed that your mummy will pick up a bit when she starts chemo. Maybe it will give her the boost that she needs.
Thanks all for your kind messages. I'm feeling better today. I got myself into a state yesterday but I'm being more optimistic today.
Furry - hope your getting lots of bd good luck!
Foul weather isn't it? I'm having a cooking session for ds. I basically slog myself to death for a few hours in the kitchen making him loads of meals to freeze. Just made 6 fish pies now off to do some butternut risotto. Poor dh will walk in tonight and see all these lovely meals for ds and nothing for him! Perhaps I'll make something nice for dh.

FurryFox · 19/03/2007 13:43

yesmum - Sorry your Mum isn't too good. Hopefully when the chemo starts things will pick up for her but I know it's a long road and isn't easy for anyone involved. I hope she gets the CT scan soon as well just so you know exactly what's what. Enjoy your day off

Buttercup - Glad you are feeling a bit better today and more optimistic. I think we all have days/weeks, even months when we feel like you did yesterday. Our hormones have a lot to do with it I think Well done for cooking lot's of lovely food for your DS, I'm sure your DH will appreiciate some too Where abouts are you? We have lot's of lovely sun at the moment but it's cold outside. The local weather forecast has just said the weathers going to change this afternoon and be horrible. Oh well, another excuse to cuddle up tonight

buttercupbabe · 19/03/2007 13:50

Hi Furry - I'm just outside Reading. We've just had a mini blizzard (well some snow!) Sadly it wont settle because the ground is wet. Where are you - I'd love some sun.

FurryFox · 19/03/2007 13:54

London/Essex - on the boarders. We had some hailstones this morning for about a minute then nothing, just lot's of sunshine Has now got quite dark outside though.

FurryFox · 19/03/2007 15:36

insy - Just seen your thread in the AIBU topic. Don't know how I missed you say on this thread y'day about your Mothers Day. Sorry DH forgot, I'm sure it was a genuine mistake and you said yourself he feels bad about it but I know it must feel a bit rubbish

If it makes you feel any better, DH and I went shopping on Saturday. Had to get both Mums card's. I knew he hadn't got mine so I said I'd wait outside while he got it. It was really busy in the shop and I could see him faffing about with envelopes and cards so I went in picked a card said "I like this one" and made him pay for it - with me still standing there. He also got me a CD but I was with him and chose it. Got to the car and I just burst into tears saying I wanted a surprise and I didn't want to choose my own card Got home, my Mum was there looking after DD and they were in the garden, I went out there and started crying again

jhyesmum · 19/03/2007 19:16

Well if it makes you feel any better I got nothing! DS made a card at school.

TBH, the card DS made is worth more than a pressie! DH feels bad though!

Butter - you make some really lovely food!! I'm not overly great at cooking!

As for the weather, I'm in Norfolk and we had hales stones like garen peas!! No snow but blumming cold!!

buttercupbabe · 19/03/2007 19:19

Well, glad all that cookings done with. Are we all well tonight?

insywinsyspider · 19/03/2007 19:29

thanks furry and jhyesmum - about being a spoiled brat about mothers day - i didn't want anything i just didn't want him to forget, wanted a cup of tea in bed and a cuddle from them both... will just have to ask next time! think i felt sad today cause went to stay and play with ds and mums there were swapping 'my mothers day was so great' stories (i know they were probably bigging it up but came home and had a cry )

anyway am getting tea cooked for me now

how are you doing today buttercup?

jhyesmum · 19/03/2007 19:47

Those mum's are full of poo!! Trying to big themselves up!!

buttercupbabe · 19/03/2007 19:48

Hi Insey. I'm much better today thanks. I was having a bit of a downer but feeling more positive today
There are always mums at playgroups who have had the best ever mothers day - they are usually the same mums who boast about their childrens amazing abilities - I call them smug mums! Hope you're not feeling too sad now.

jhyesmum · 19/03/2007 19:50

Totally agree with you butter. They drive me mad! Their childrens poo doesn't stink! They need to open their eyes - oh no, they can't, because their full of s*it!!

insywinsyspider · 19/03/2007 20:09

glad you're feeling better today. not sad now - shown dh posts and he's feeling relieved that he's not the only one who didn't get it right

really hoping mums make most of it up - thats been the hardest thing with my pnd is that you put in loads of effort to get out of house and go to meet people and you hear a lot about how fab their lives are 'loved dc from moment they popped out' kind of stuff - am still hoping they are seriously lying or i am missing something and then they spend rest of time bitching about dh/dp which i don't want to join in with cause he has his faults but i'd be motified if he spoke about me like that to people in rl

its not all bad i do know some lovely mums too

insywinsyspider · 19/03/2007 20:09

mortified not motified

jhyesmum · 19/03/2007 20:17

Insy - I know some lovely mums too! But you do get the cliques!! And they're the ones i'm talking about!!!

I didn't know you had PND. My sister suffers from it too. I can totally sympathise with you. Although I haven't had it myself, I talk to my sis a hell of a lot about how she feels.

buttercupbabe · 19/03/2007 20:33

I too know nice mums but sadly there are some smug ones out there. I'm off to do some ironing and sort myself out for work tomorrow. Chat to you tomorrow.

jhyesmum · 19/03/2007 20:48

Night butter! You can come and do my ironing too if you like!

insywinsyspider · 19/03/2007 21:04

pnd is getting easier to deal with, just need to remind myself about the smug mums otherwise on bad days i think i'm doing it all wrong

off to bed now as dh up 4am ish for work

jhyesmum · 19/03/2007 21:05

Keep thinking that, and you'll feel great!

Night insy xx

Lexie100 · 20/03/2007 10:38

Morning all. Gosh what a lot of chat i missed over the weekend.

Wedding ok but x boy friend (10 years ago) was there and made me and DH feel very out of place. Even thought it was the wedding of MY old house mate. Good to have a night off from DD though.

Though i ovulated on CD12/13 but had another load of EWCM on CD16 so now not sure what's going on!!!!!!

THis TTC is so confusing!!

fifisworld · 20/03/2007 10:41

Hi, mind if i join in???
We've just decided to ttc #2 and not sure where to start really, well apart from the obvious
We have ds who is 11 months and i got pg straight away with him without really trying iykwim.

Lexie100 · 20/03/2007 10:56

Welcome fifisworld

Yes so did i with DD but we are now on our 4th try of TTC no.2. Lets hope this month is the one

fifisworld · 20/03/2007 11:00

Stupid question but...
If the first day of my last period was 12th march and my cyles normally abround 30 days will i ovulate around 26th?
My last period only lasted 2 days and was fairly light in comparison to what i normally have.

Lexie100 · 20/03/2007 13:00

Ovulation usually takes place 14 days prior to ovulation. So count back 14 days from when you think you are next due on. If you are unsure of when you ovulate, like a lot of us, then you can get ovulation predictor tests off e bay.

If your periods are all over the place subtract 18 days from the length of you shortest cycle and 11 days from your longest cycle. e.g. shortest cycle 26 days 26-18 = 8 ; longest cycle 32-11 = 21 so you should ovulate anytime between CD8 - CD21.

Hope this helps

insywinsyspider · 20/03/2007 13:03

hi lexie - sorry wedding wasn't all that great, am getting v confused about ttc too, am doing opks this month - is it possible to miss LH surge if i test at diff times of day? hoping this month is the one for all of us!

FurryFox · 20/03/2007 15:25
