Morning - definitely in too good a mood this morning for the hut - not sure why the good mood, but not going to question it while it lasts!!

Anyway, 37.83 this morning, so up a little from yesterday. 11 DPO (well 11 days high temps - when do you count ov from, the day before temp rise or the day of temp rise?)

speak later

Greedy! I am going to stick to virgin G&Ts prepared solely by me! I will get caught eventually I suspect.

rahrah1 · 30/01/2007 14:26

Not sure when I will get the results, I have to have some more taken on the 23rd day of my cycle, so presuming I will get all of them back after those are taken...

I had 8 vials last time... I felt a bit faint...

rahrah1 · 30/01/2007 14:30

I'm Feeling a bit sad... I am listening to the music we had at Bertie's funeral, as someone just directed me to 'you tube' on one of their emails... Sarah Mclachlan - Arms Of An Angel... It's such a beautiful song..

mum03 · 30/01/2007 14:31

Greedy - the picture of you with orangejuice all over the floor looking guilty makes me giggle, it must have made them all feel sorry for you being so drunk that you spilt your drink!!!!! Well done on concealing the secret. And even more well done on not drinking!!!!

Fettle - yep, it is really a bit soon to be having morning sickness, so don't wish it on yourself too soon! And go put on a less suitable bra to make your boobs sore again! Your temps are still good it seems all is well so far.

MrsMcJnr - hi, congrats on your pg. I was so convinced my first pg was a girl, I got the biggest shock of my life when they held up a boy!!! perhaps your maternal instincts are stronger than mine!

Ready - your temps are looking good, now I hope they stay that way and that your positive thoughts give way to a positive test in a few days time. - no testing early or the clearblue fairy will be shaking her head at you.

Well I am looking forward to my dh coming home tonight , he has been away for a few days, it is his birthday tomorrow and I intend to have some fun tonight as we try to catch that eggie..... cause its "o"time - take that what ever way!

And for lottie and family issues
and for rahrah and , just to use up the other two smilies available!!!!

mum03 · 30/01/2007 14:32

rahrah - sorry {{{{hugs}}}}} our posts crossed.

fettle · 30/01/2007 14:48

Rahrah - so sorry {{{{{HUGS}}}}. Wish there was someway I could make it better for you.

rahrah - you poor thing, i really feel for you. have a good old cry. x x x

fettle · 30/01/2007 14:55

Greedy - good to hear from you. You make me PMSL sometimes - you covered in orange juice, scrabbling on the floor. sorry probably wasn't very funny at the time
Glad to hear you sounding a bit positive, although sorry to hear bleeding is still going. It does sound like my mc last cycle, but you never know, it might still be ok. What time is your appointment tomorrow? Oh, I hope it is ok

Thanks Mum03, I am actually back wearing a totally unsuitable and slightly too small bra in the hope that I have that "ooh aaaaahhhh!" feeling when I take it off tonight - DH hates it though, as it means they are totally off limits for a while
Hope your ov-time goes well

Thanks everyone, I know you are talking sense that my morning sickness shouldn't be really starting yet and boy did I suffer with DD! but I just want to feel pg, as with both mc I just didn't feel pg and I wonder if that was my body telling me there was something up. Do feel a bit more pg this time around, but would be feel better actually having seen a little heart beat.

Greedy, if by next week, I don't have a scan date, I may think about other ways to have a scan early. hopefully GP will have stressed my mcs and unsure of dates, so they will see me before 12 weeks. I know there is not much point before 7 weeks, so if I get that far, I'll then decide how to persuade them to scan me!

Must work!! but I much prefer talking to all you!!

fettle - i am glad you are here to keep me sane! with all these bfps i keep forgetting about my bleeding and just assuming everything is ok with me. one minute i am really positive and the next minute i think its all gone wrong. aaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh!

fettle · 30/01/2007 15:06

Oh Greedy, I hope I'm not shattering your hopes - don't mean to! It is an awful time - but it might still be ok - you have to hang onto that thought a bit, I think.

I was upset last cycle when you didn't get pg and I did, and now we are both pg, we have to both stay pg!!

i will try fettle! i do find myself 'clenching' sometimes to stop more blood coming out! how daft is that! as if it will make any difference!

Ready · 30/01/2007 19:20

MrsMcJnr - I think that stopping temping is the right thing to do. You'd only worry about any fluctuations. I know I would anyway.

Rahrah - Nothing I can say can possibly help, but (((((((((hugs))))))))). Thinking of you xxx

Mum03 - Rest assured that if AF stays away I won't test for at least a week! I am the ClearBlueFairy's favourite

Good luck to you and fingers crossed at this important time!!

Greedy - Mission Accomplished indeed, everyone thinks you are mad!!

Fettle - It's totally understandable that you want some symptoms. Was thinking, if you were really sick with DD, perhaps this little bean is a boy??

Hugs for everyone else. Still feeling really moody, depressed and shattered - classic AF signs, no?

minxi · 30/01/2007 19:50

Hi all, still no sign for me which is odd - if you ovulate later than normal i.e. for me the fertility friend chart told me I ov'd on the 20th would that still mean it is a 28 day cycle or 14 days after that day...I have no idea as first month of temping and checking seriously! Thought I did ov on 15/16th Jan which would mean I am 12dpo but it is saying I ov'd on 20th so am 9dpo...have no tests was tempted to park up earlier and run in and get some but stopped myself (no where to park)... will have to wait until Thursday at least!! Please let me wait until thursday...hate waiting!! My only sign is crying all the way through big brother final I thought it was very emotional ...how weird!
Hope everyone is ok...Ready .. af cramps and moodiness can mean pg too !!

fettle · 30/01/2007 20:41

Minxi, the only set thing about our cycles is the length of the luteal phase, ie from ovulation to AF, which will generally be between 10-16 days. Whichever length you have, you can pretty much guarantee that this will not change. As it is your first month charting, you obviously won't know your luteal length yet, so will have to play it by ear [hopefully you won't be able to find out this cycle either, as you get a BFP!

If you are unsure and don't want to test, if you find you have elevated temps for 18 days, it generally means you are definitely pg!

Next cycle, you'll be much more aware of your body and what to expect.

HTH and hope its unnecessary and you get your BFP soon!!

Hi, sorry to gatecrash- am seriously considering temping. Can anyone give me any invaluable advice or point me in the direction of a good website? xxxxxxxxxx

fettle · 30/01/2007 20:48

I've temped for over 4 years now and find it invaluable. i got most preliminary information with my fertility thermometer from boots - you need a special basal temperature thermometer, rather than a normal one you take your temperature with if you are ill.

I'm sure some of the other girls will have good websites to visit - I'm not very good at doing links, I'm afraid!

However, if you are seriously thinking about temping, consider buying a book called "taking Charge of Your Fertility" by Toni Weschler. She goes into great detail about taking your temperature and plotting charts and what to expect etc. She also tells you have to chart CM, which i've started doing for the last 2 cycles (both of which I've conceived on, having had trouble before!), she also goes through the final fertile sign, cervix position, but its not something I've ever really wanted to think about doing!

Good luck! and join the thread, once you've got your thermometer!

Ammy... you are most welcome to gatecrash!! If you want to start temping then you will be most welcome to join us. It all depends on how far you want to go with the temping really... Toni Weschler/TCOYF has software that you can purchase (after a free trial) and put in all your 'observations' (temp, CM etc), or there is fertilityfriend.com which has free (I think) software for your temps. There is the less technical option, which I have chosen for the moment (although considering the TCOYF if no BFP after 6 months!) which is just a little booklet with blank charts printed in it.

Of course you will need a digital basal body temperature thermometer.

Crumbs, what a waffler I am! I got my thermometer and booklet from Boots (it was £12)... but I think you can get BBT thermometers on ebay and other fertility websites.

Good luck.

Sorry for all the incessant waffle.

Ready · 30/01/2007 20:52

x posts Fettle, and you were so much better at explaining it all than I.

Minxi, I so hope you are right and all these AF symptoms are in fact PG.

Thanks girls for putting up with my moody sulks. I really do appreciate being able to sound off and I know you all understand.

What would I do without Mumsnet??

ammylovesbabies · 30/01/2007 20:55

Whats the difference between a basal temp thermometer and a normal one i stick in my ear?

I've heard people on here say as well that they have taken temps vaginally for more steady results. should it be in your mouth?

Ready · 30/01/2007 21:02

the thermometers that you stick in your ear are not as sensitive apparently.

You can take your BBT temp either in your mouth or 'down-under', whichever you feel most comfortable doing. Also worth mentioning is that some people got erratic temps orally, and when they did it vaginally the temps were more consistent.

fettle · 30/01/2007 21:02

Basal thermometer measures more accurately than a normal thermometer. Tends to have 2 decimal places, but you generally only use 1 decimal point on your actual chart.

You can take temps orally or vaginally, whatever you feel more comfortable with. I personally prefer orally. Whatever you decide to do, you must stick that way each time, as the temps will vary and when you're looking for a temp shift of around 0.2 deg to show you've ovulated, you begin to see why it must be an accurate reading!!

Go on, join! I love it!!

x posts again with you Fettle.

Damn that second decimal place the bane of my life!!!

ammylovesbabies · 30/01/2007 21:03

I reckon I'm gonna give it a go. I always thought I knew when I ovulated but found that I actually don't!

Ready · 30/01/2007 21:10

There's no harm in giving it a go and seeing how you get on with it. Best of luck and welcome aboard.

minxi · 30/01/2007 21:11

Fettle - Thanks for the advice, very useful and hoping I don't have another cycle and I have watched my temps with interest and timed it with bd perfectly I shall be v happy! Although if not will be exciting to chart again next month as I wont be so new to it fingers crossed we got it right though

Ammy I only started temping this month and am finding it fascinating already although have nothing to compare - my cycle seems to be doing what it is supposed to be doing...exciting!

Ready - I will be relying on the 2nd decimal place too if its me and my thermometer in the morning!
