Thought I would create a fresh thread as the original had been going since Feb. This is for anyone TTC #1, a bit of moral support as we all attempt to embark on the scary journey that is parenthood! Join us if you are a mix of terrified and excited, don't really know what you're doing yet and hadn't heard of CM before you started reading Mumsnet!!

Fingers crossed for you pj!

I've been really good all week with the healthy diet. No caffeine. No alcohol. Trying to do it right. All gone tonight lol. I've had a lot to drink and crap to eat but all in the name of a good cause! Helping Bessie mate through a shitty breakup. So that's my excuse.

Also still no sign of AF ovulation or any bloody thing going on. I'm so impatient.

AnnaKateNZ · 11/06/2016 00:58

All the waiting is the worst isn't it. Waiting for AF, waiting to ovulate, TWW! I thought I was a patient person but not when it comes to TCC I guess.

Pyjamas81 · 11/06/2016 08:29

Ah busy - a bit of a blowout is sometimes necessary Wink Esp when this damn waiting game is so infuriating!

No sign of AF this morning and mood is significantly better - however, that might just be due to the fact it's Saturday and I haven't got people at work getting on my last nerve. Did a test this morning just to you know, do something - BFN.

Fx for AF today!

You're right AnnaKate - waiting is the worst!!

SuchaJem · 11/06/2016 08:35

Busy if you can't have a few naughty things on the weekend then when can you. Sounds like you've done a really good job all week which is the main thing.

Fx for bfp pyjamas! Why are you fx for AF?

I'm 7 DPO and got my classic PMS kicking in on time. Crying for no good reason, snapping at DH. Think it will be AF and onto cycle 7 for me next week SadSadSad

Pyjamas81 · 11/06/2016 08:55

Hi jem - Fx for AF because its first real AF since coming off pill, so just want it to arrive so I can get to track my cycle properly. Ah well - am only a day late, trying to retain perspective ha ha

Sorry you're feeling PMSey - I hear pregnancy symptoms can be so similar to AF ones though, I've still got Fx for you!

Moon2015 · 11/06/2016 09:13

Hi all!
Im pretty new to MN as only just started ttc #1 last month. My AF is about 7 days late and I've got no PMS signs but have poas a couple of times and so far its negative so a bit apprehensive Confused

Russkispy · 11/06/2016 11:14

Morning ladies,
A little update from. Went to my acupuncturist and I believe she sorted out my OV day as it was back on CD14. And consequently my cycle this time is 27 days which is my regular ones. Suffice to say AF arrived today after 2 days of brown spotting (my indicator of imminent AF). So I'm out this month. Disappointed but holding my head high. This battle is not over! It only started 😉

Sorry to hear about others' AF and good luck with the ones are still hanging in there!

See you all next month.

RS x

PS acupuncturist was very happy with my pulse and progress I've shown so far (eating her suggested foods etc) and she reckons I have chances to be pregnant within 3 months. Time will tell....

SuchaJem · 11/06/2016 19:25

Ahh I see, that makes sense.

I keep reminding myself that pms is so similar to early pregnancy, but my moods before AF are so predictable! The snapping and crying are like clockwork every month Hmm

We shall see. I guess better to be prepared for bfn.

Welcome moon, have you tried a decent test ?

Pyjamas81 · 11/06/2016 21:27

When are you testing Jem?

Still no sign of AF - Bah. I suppose being on some form of contraception (either pill or implant) since I was 15 may have an effect! I did have a year's break (after only having been on pill) about three years ago, and went back to being regular immediately - maybe I've reacted differently to the implant! And I went straight from implant to pill for a couple of months then came off that - my hormones are probably all kinds of confused!

SuchaJem · 11/06/2016 22:41

Period is due next Saturday pyjamas so I'll wait until then. AF will likely come before I POAS.

Is there anything you can do to help regulate your cycles? I listen to a podcast called Fertility Friday - i think she has done a few episodes about coming off hormonal contraception.

I haven't been on the pill in about 5-6 years, have very regular cycles - and I'm still not pregnant after 6 months of trying! I guess anything could happen Smile

Moon2015 · 11/06/2016 22:48

I've done a couple of the HCG stick tests Jem, but holding off for a few more days before trying again with a Clear Blue. We'll see what happens Smile

Jjspoon · 11/06/2016 22:49

Cd11 for me today and thought I'd be ovulating soon as 26 day cycle last time but no ewcm yet :( still dtd last night though so hopefully won't miss anything. We also went out and had a few drinks as I'm really making the most of it! Really emotional atm which seems a strange point in the cycle to be like this....

There seems to be quiet a few of you in the 2ww at the moment so fingers crossed for you all!

Pyjamas81 · 11/06/2016 22:50

Well fingers crossed for Saturday Jem Smile

Thanks for the podcast tip!

DH went to the pub to watch football - which means I got some very much needed time to myself. Feeling much more chilled out after watching a good film, ordering some food and putting my face mask on Smile

Pyjamas81 · 12/06/2016 17:21

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!

I just did an OPK test out of curiosity (still no AF) and although it's negative it's darker than the one taken a few days ago (on CD26 - am now on CD31). Who knows what that means - but I'm going to start OPK testing everyday as I have no freaking clue where I really am in my cycle now!

AnnaKateNZ · 13/06/2016 04:02

I'm curious as to whether anyone is telling people that they are TTC? I don't want to tell everyone of course just in case things don't go as planned but I'm always tempted to tell my BFF when I see her.

Eva30 · 13/06/2016 05:18

annakatenz I have only told my bff. I quit smoking when decided to start TTC so she knew anyway.

SuchaJem · 13/06/2016 05:53

Jet lag insomnia allllllllll night I feel like I'm going insane ConfusedConfusedShock

Anna are in you nz?

I've told a few close friends and kind of hinted to my mum. I wish I hadn't told anyone really, 6 months in and nothing. Then again I feel like I new to talk to someone about it.

Pyjamas81 · 13/06/2016 07:17

AnnaKate - I've told my mum and three best friends. I figured if something goes wrong, I would want their support anyway. We don't talk about it all the time, just on occasion!

Eva - well done for giving up smoking! Have you gone cold turkey? I replaced smoking real cigarettes with vaping a few years ago, and am now in the process of giving those up with nicotine patches.

Eva30 · 13/06/2016 08:36

pyjamas thank you and well done you too! It's tough isn't it. Yes cold turkey, I started when I was 18 and I'm 30 now. I've quit a few times in the past and then ended up starting again but always said when I start trying for children I'll stop for good and I'm finding it great motivation. The only thing is at the moment I seem to be replacing cigarettes with food so I might become obese if this continues haha. But GP says that happens a lot because you're trying to keep your hands busy and try freezing grapes and then getting one out of the freezer and sucking on it when you feel like eating. I quit using patches a few years ago for 6 months, then went on a night out and had 20 in a night (face in palms).

BusyNothings · 13/06/2016 09:57

I'm really behind on mumsnet! I had the weekend to chill out so back on it now. I've downloaded the ovia app and am completely confused!

I have told my mum and a few close friends about ttc they are helping to keep me sane and calm! But not discussing it a lot. Bit weird discussed DTD with your mum.

I stopped doing OPKs because I was getting too stressed but still no sign of everything so I've ordered a thermometer and going to start again. I know it sounds overkill but it helps keep me calm and focused and not panicking.

Pyjamas81 · 13/06/2016 10:42

Eva - wow, cold turkey! I tried that before and failed miserably - I started smoking when I was 14 and am 35 now, so it's a hard habit to kick! I turn into a total beast when I give up, so using the patches now, and if I get knocked up, I'll get rid of them immediately as I know nicotine has an effect. Good luck!!

Busy - ah yes, the Ovia app confusion - it really doesn't like it when AF isn't playing ball. It's been saying I'm on my period for days - I most definitely am not!

BusyNothings · 13/06/2016 10:48

Ovia is telling me I'm ovulating don't know where the f it's got that from?! I haven't even had AF yet so how it can figure that out God knows.

Quitting cold turkey is hard but everyone I know who has stuck at it did it that way so fingers crossed for you! Plus frozen grapes sound ace lol

AnnaKateNZ · 13/06/2016 11:36

sucha yes I am in NZ, not a good time difference for keeping up with posts on here unfortunately.

sparksalot · 13/06/2016 11:55

Hi all well af came today 28 day cycle. Pretty pissed off but knew it was coming bang on when ovia said it would. Busy you can take the period off just go in and tap nothing. As for smoking im using a vape I know it's not as good as quiting but it's the best for me as soon as stopping all together but it's working for now x
