First time TTC - thread 2

CinnamonTwist · 28/05/2016 10:59

Thought I would create a fresh thread as the original had been going since Feb. This is for anyone TTC #1, a bit of moral support as we all attempt to embark on the scary journey that is parenthood! Join us if you are a mix of terrified and excited, don't really know what you're doing yet and hadn't heard of CM before you started reading Mumsnet!!

Bfn 4 days before AF is due, know it's early but think I'm out for this month. Silly for testing early. DP hasn't taken it well.

Pyjamas81 · 23/08/2016 23:05

Still early givingitago - don't count yourself out just yet!

It is SO HOT in our bedroom. And not in a good way. Thank crap we don't have to dtd tonight!

givingitago85 · 23/08/2016 23:25

Thanks pajamas, AF still a few days away so trying not to get too down.

Eva30 · 24/08/2016 05:35

giving sorry for the bfn
difficult house deposit money for Ivf instead, woah that's a big move. But where would you live?! You'd still have to rent right? could you buy house and still save? How old are you again? I'd say it's definitely worth stocking up on opks and doing them every day til you get + and then you'll know where you're at. And yes remember the 25% chance figure. You're doing so well to DTD every other day minimum, I couldn't do that, I'd need a holiday every month!!
moonlight oh I'm sorry, must've been hard with it being around what would have been your due date. I know that baby bomb feeling and it's horrible. My stomach flips when someone tells me, like I'm overcome with jealousy pangs, takes me a couple of days to get over it and then I feel guiltyBlush Our time will comeFlowers
pjs haha yes it was too hot for any DTD yesterday here too. I like dpo2-6 and feel relaxed and like job done, I find after about day 6 is when I get impatient!

MoonlightMojitos · 24/08/2016 07:36

Thanks guys. Feeling a bit more rational today.... I'm annoyed at myself for not dtd last night now as we were doing well on the every other day front and had the ewcm yesterday but just wasn't in the mood after the baby bomb. Managed to get a cheeky one in this morning though so hopefully havnt missed too much. Will make it difficult to judge cm today though (tmi!)

Good news pie! And sorry for bfn givingitago but still very early!

givingitago85 · 24/08/2016 07:46

Thank you Eva and moonlight, well done moonlight, it's hard when it's to a schedule isn't it.

Difficultyear2015 · 24/08/2016 08:11

eva I'm 31 soon. How much is private IVF anyway?! 😝

Eva30 · 24/08/2016 08:19

difficult I've heard about £3k, first go on the NHS is free if you fit their criteria. But it's not going to come to that Grin

Difficultyear2015 · 24/08/2016 08:21

eva thanks 😆👌🏻 that's exactly what my DP keepsake willing me, but I think he's biased as he wants us to get the house . We should hear back on that today so fingers crossed there too!!
At least if it does it'l take my mind off things for a while

Difficultyear2015 · 24/08/2016 08:22

Also - still spotting lightly on and off. Thought AF was actually going to make a show but nothing still

MoonlightMojitos · 24/08/2016 11:07

We need a new thread!!!! Almost full!

Russkispy · 24/08/2016 15:59

Hi ladies, haven't been here for a while as it wasn't anything worth reporting.
Cycle #4 - Another BFN. Keep seeing my acupuncturist twice a month. She recommended to add Aspirin 75mg to my never ending collection of vitamins/pills list.

So, today is CD10 and of cycle #5. Still sticking to SMEP plan and started using Conceive Plus lubricant.

And thinking of plan B, C and so on.

I'm thinking for next cycle to go for IUI. I'll already made preparations for it. And if this cycle doesn't work then I'll be flying home to get it done. It's in Riga. The actual insemination is only €285! My DH's sperm is already in their freezer. I'll probably need a couple of examinations prior to the actual procedure. But the whole lot won't cost more than €500-600!
And if I'd go for London clinic, I was told it would be around £1500-2000! Insane! Even with the flights it would cost much less to get it done there! Plus they know me there and I could see my dad and brother.

So, we'll see what this cycle brings.

CinnamonTwist · 24/08/2016 16:23

I don't want to upset anyone else who has had a MC, as I know it's hard to see BFPs, but I caved and tested this morning, as I am the most impatient person ever, and got a faint BFP, I actually ran back into the bedroom yelling 'there's a line, there's a line!' poor DH was still half asleep as I dragged him back to see it!

I must have ovulated at a different time. Apparently the month after MC (or birth) you are more fertile, so that might explain it Blush

I am keeping everything crossed that this one sticks about for the whole journey Confused

fx for everyone else hoping for sticky beans x

Pyjamas81 · 24/08/2016 16:38

Ooooooo congrats cinnamon!! Really hope it's a sticky bean please keep us posted!!

I was getting nervous about the thread running out so have created a new one! It's over here: First time TTC - thread 3
www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/2715690-first-time-ttc-thread-3

BusyNothings · 24/08/2016 16:49

Oooh congratulations cinnamon I'm really happy for you! Fingers and toes crossed Flowers

MoonlightMojitos · 24/08/2016 17:24

Oh cinnamon I honestly am so happy for you! It gives me hope that it can happen again so quickly! I was only shocked by the baby bomb yesterday because it's someone I (thought I) was close with so it was a shock. Fx for your your sticky bean and keep us updated! When are you going to call the docs? I bet you're over the moon!

Thanks for the new thread pj!

russkispy I'd be very wary of taking aspirin personally, it's been linked to increase chance of miscarriage so I'd be a bit dubious before taking it and weigh up the risks and what pros are there? Good luck for your ici though if you do go ahead keep us updated! I have no clue about what that involves. Fx for you that you get a BFP soon though so doesn't come to that.

CinnamonTwist · 24/08/2016 19:04

I'll reply on this thread instead of the new one as it makes more sense... To me anyway!

Thanks moonlight I am (and DH is too) genuinely over the moon this time, last time showed us both just how much we really wanted it. I rang my Mum and told her this morning, as she has been so supportive recently and was encouraging us (in a nice way, not in a pushy way) to try again. She was shocked but really happy for us.

I really hope you get a sticky one soon, I'll keep my fx for you!
