First time TTC - thread 2

Thought I would create a fresh thread as the original had been going since Feb. This is for anyone TTC #1, a bit of moral support as we all attempt to embark on the scary journey that is parenthood! Join us if you are a mix of terrified and excited, don't really know what you're doing yet and hadn't heard of CM before you started reading Mumsnet!!

Start of the dreaded 2WW today...just hoping I can keep my mind occupied enough for it to go quickly!

Welcome elmwood and shoney - sorry for AF elmwood. I too thought as soon as I stopped bc I'd get BFP but had to readjust my thinking to its a long process and each month only 25% chance of getting a sticky even with perfect timing. We'll all get there in the end are you ladies charting/temping/using opks etc?
I'm on cd31 now. Previous cycles have been 29 & 30 days but ov was cd17 this cycle instead of cd15 previous cycles. So I'm expecting AF tomorrow or weds, big temp drop today to near baseline confirmed she's on her way.
pjs how you getting on, which day are you starting with cb monitor?
busy how's things, any symptoms yet?
difficult no sign of AF? What cd are you on now?

givingitago good luck for the 2 weeks of craziness! did you manage to get a lot of bd'ing in over FW?

eva im on CD31 now, light brown spotting, very gassy but no cramping. No sign of AF as of yet.

I am a total mess this morning. Went to bed with headache, woke up with headache, sore throat, runny nose and what seems to be a sore eye too! Feel like I am falling apart. When AF arrives that will be the cherry on top

Hi Eva - sorry to hear about impending AF, how are you feeling about it all?

I'm on CD7 and started with the digi opks today as I'm still unsure on cycle length. Would rather waste a few sticks that miss ovulation altogether! I got a low which was expected as it's the first day and setting baseline.

Had reassuring chat with my mum last night - she said her AF only ever lasted 2 days (one day normal, the next really light and totally gone by the third) - exactly the same as me!

Weird thing is I could have sworn I was preggers 2 days ago before the spotting started, so generally feeling bit down. Silly really. I know it's unlikely, but was surrounded by babies all weekend so never helps

I can't help but Google search what's happening and brown spotting instead of period is apparantly sign of pcos

difficult hope you're feeling better today? Spotting could be anything, no point worrying about pcos, Google has got you thinking the worst! When are you testing?
pyjamas a bit frustrated actually, still no AF??? Grr I wish she would stop taking the p*ss that woman ha! here's my chart, ff says AF due tomorrow, Ovia said it was due yesterday (although admittedly I've not really been using that properly, only putting in AF, BD and +OPKs, no temps). Ah back to the monitor days for you - hope it isn't as crazy as last month this time.

How annoying - are you still testing Eva? AF is such a total turbo bitch sometimes

I started on the digi opks yesterday and got a low yesterday, then an unexpected high today! Am on CD8 so very confused/gearing up for another flashing smiley face marathon. Going to test again later to make sure. Aaaaaaarrrrggghhh I hate my cycles!!!!

pjs no I haven't tested since Saturday. If AF doesn't arrive by the weekend then I'll test again on Saturday but I really think those stupid pregnacare tablets have messed up my cycles. My previous 2 were almost identical. I don't feel anything pg or AF wise - feel completely normal, except sore boobs yesterday but think that was due to the run and too much jangling about for them lol.
Oh bloody hell - surely it can't be like another 10days of highs!! That's really early to get a high isn't it? Like you say though better to be monitoring to not miss ov with it only being your second cycle.

I'm thinking I need to test I. The next couple of days. I wasn't exporting a normal cycle after being on the pill but I've been on it less than a year.

I'm feeling better today, but yesterday i had to go home and sleep. Ended up with a migraine which I've never had before, so didn't know what was going on at first.
I must just generally be under the weather as a few warts have sprung up on my right hand too which I haven't had for years.
Either way I'm much better today despite a dull achey back which I expected after being horizontal for most of the day yesterday.

I've spotted spotting now. It was so slight that it was only there when I wiped, nothing shown in my underwear.
No signs of AF on her way. I usually get terrible cramps but that hasn't started yet, just mild low pinchy feeling a bit like a dull stitch.

My boobs have got a bit tingly and sensitive (nipples are itchy!) but nothing uncomfortable in general and I haven't noticed them grow! Haha

I'm on the pregnacare tablets as well Eva! Wondering if I should just switch to regular folic acid.

How annoying for you - def test again on weekend if there's still nothing. What's your temp doing at the moment?

Yep - mega early for me to be getting flashing smiley face. Testing again later and using cheap opks as back up just in case! This is my fourth cycle after coming off pill, but only second properly TTC. I did have one 22 day cycle (in between 32 day and 34 day cycles) so can't be sure this won't be a short one!

Oops forgot to attach my chart before. Temp is really down so definitely not hopeful for +hpt.
Ah right pjs, hopefully everything will settle soon after coming off the pill then. I really didn't rate the pregnacare tablets so have just switched to folic acid. I read quite a few bad reviews online but obviously people only tend to write reviews when they want to complain!
difficult your symptoms sound really good for pg - Let us know when you test, fx for you!

Just did another digi OPK - still a flashing face! So. Confused.

Eva im thinking I should test when the spotting stops, that way Im giving AF a decent enough chance to show.
I thought spotting had stopped today but its still there. Its so faint that its just showing as brown discharge when I wipe. Im meant to be having my 2nd acupuncture tonight but not really up to it.

A colleague just showed me a scan picture of his grandchild. I really could have done without that right now.

eva I cannot believe you have not tested again! Nerves of steel!
difficult sorry you're feeling so rubbish, can't believe you haven't tested yet either! Have you got any on stand by? Don't count yourself out from a bit of spotting, that can be normal with pg anyway especially around when af would be due.

difficult you really should do a test! Just put your kind at rest if anything but you seem to be having a few symptoms!

The flashing smiley face has put me in a rubbish mood - really not up for prolonged forced dtd if this is going to be another 12 day flashing face marathon. DH not enthralled with idea either!

Good thanks pj cd6 and af nearly gone just a last bit of spotting today so a few more days to take it easy before DILR time for the next 10 days or so! I know what you mean about forcing it, I don't want it to just be mechanical so I'm trying to keep it varied lol don't want it to become a chore. It is difficult when you're not feeling up to it or had a bad day or whatever and it's the last thing on your mind! I'm lucky that I've ovulated cd15/16 last 3 cycles so seem pretty regular but it must be so disheartening not knowing what's going on. I use the website so just use normal keyboard for emojis, are you using the app?

So good that you're regular moonlight - I would love love love to be regular!! Glad AF nearly gone for you

Could not be less in the mood, and DH's dad is staying from tomorrow until Sunday! So on one hand I want it to take longer so I get a peak result when he's gone and on the other I hate the thought of so many 'high' results - surely I can't be highly fertile for all that time?! Feel like we should be dtd, but feels too early and can't be bothered unless absolutely necessary.
