Thought I would create a fresh thread as the original had been going since Feb. This is for anyone TTC #1, a bit of moral support as we all attempt to embark on the scary journey that is parenthood! Join us if you are a mix of terrified and excited, don't really know what you're doing yet and hadn't heard of CM before you started reading Mumsnet!!

Hello! I'm 33 and TTC #1

Currently cycle #3 and 7DPO

We did conceive in cycle 1 but unfortunately was an early loss/chemical :(

Having similar symptoms now to then such as ovary twinges, exhaustion , shooting pains/heavy feeling in boobs, and forgetting basic words! Fighting the urge to poas as I was 13DPO last time before I got my bfp

I've got everything crossed!!!

BusyNothings · 12/08/2016 09:44

eva it's still early days so if you get a bfn don't give up yet. Those temps look like mine now so they look really promising.

jj nothing wrong with an indulgence esp when AF here. You and pj deserve gold stars for exercising! I hate the gym, and running and exercise lol. I'd much rather power walk up and down the hill a few times with my dogs.

Thanks difficult when are you due AF?

Difficultyear2015 · 12/08/2016 09:49

I was due yesterday. No sign yet, but the twinges make me think it's on it's way.
I've also had the standard rattiness and emotional outbursts that seem to happen this time of the month. Feeling very bloated and uncomfortable today.

BusyNothings · 12/08/2016 09:54

Ugh the bad mood and bloating suck. Have you been temping or anything or just seeing how it goes at first?

Eva30 · 12/08/2016 10:09

Welcome to the mad house coffeeandtea! Sorry for the early loss Flowers are you itching to POAS, I know the feeling, but for me I'm torn between wanting to do it and not wanting to because I don't want to see a BFN ha. Do you chart or temp or just relaxed TTC atm?
Thanks busy for keeping me positive Smile
Can't wait for this week to end, feels like it's gone on forever, time seems to stand still during the tww and work has been bad this week. Just treated myself to a Costa as I've been mostly on decaf recently and it was heaven

BusyNothings · 12/08/2016 10:16

No worries eva it is still early days! I'm going to hover around for a bit if that's ok? I don't think it's truly sunk in yet and want to see how you guys get on!

Hi coffeeandtea sorry about your loss Flowers but these bunch of ladies are great and will help keep you feeling positive and sane!

Difficultyear2015 · 12/08/2016 10:25

busy no temping yet. Its still early days for us. Was unlucky last year with a loss, so don't want to get too stressed with it all this time round. Its taken a year of not trying to be ready to try again and last time it took over a year to take, so although this is my first cycle, I have been 'trying' since May 2013 now.

Difficultyear2015 · 12/08/2016 10:27

I have had lots of symptoms this time round that match up with the last time, but none of the boob stuff. My nipples are sensitive, but I dont have the uncomfortable feeling with them this time. Im not feeling nauseous at all any more too, and that was a noticeable sign for me before and lasted a good few weeks.

CoffeeAndTea · 12/08/2016 11:18

Thanks ladies, yes I've been temping and charting, I also get mild cramping leading up to and during ovulation so I know from that too. Getting caught first time was too good to be true, was pretty heartbreaking even though it was very early on, but am feeling more positive now Smile

Jjspoon · 12/08/2016 17:30

Busy thread today! eva so excited for you, temps are looking really good so fx for the morning! I was doing all types of classes at the gym like spinning, hiit, yoga and zumba. Its fine to exercise just don't push yourself too hard if you're not already exercising, they say not to start anything new once you've got a BFP and not to get out of breath but I think whilst you're trying it's fine as the fitter you are before the easier it'll be to maintain once you are preggo. As I've had a while off I'm going to start easy with yoga, pilates, swimming and boxfit.

Hey coffee sorry for your loss, I recently had mc too and all the girls here are lovely so you're in the right place. Fx for you this is it again!

difficult don't count yourself out yet, af and pg symptoms are so similar hope it's good news for you. Don't forget that all pregnancies are different too so you might not have the same symptoms as last time.

Eva30 · 13/08/2016 07:39

BFN Sad
My temps also took a dive today so looks like I'm out.

First time TTC - thread 2
Pyjamas81 · 13/08/2016 08:10

Sorry for BFN Eva SadIt really is so disheartening. AF not here yet though. Are you doing anything nice today to distract yourself?

BusyNothings · 13/08/2016 09:04

Ah eva that sucks no sign of AF though? You might not be out yet! I don't want to give false hope but just looked at mine and I had .3 drop on 12dpo but like you it was above the base line. pj is right go out and do something to distract yourself!

Pyjamas81 · 13/08/2016 09:11

How are you and DH doing busy? Has it sunk in a bit more?

Hope you're ok Eva - nothing like a bfn to suck all the joy out of the 'what if' hope bubble.

I'm thinking about ditching Ovia for fertility friend - Ovia kept telling me everything could be a sign I conceived in 2ww. Not sure that's helpful with the already quite elevated levels of cray cray!

Jjspoon · 13/08/2016 09:58

Sorry for bfn eva don't count yourself out yet though.

I've just decided to get rid of both apps (ovia and glow) again and stopping temping and just taking the relaxed approach for a few more cycles. It worked for me before and my cycles are so regular that I don't think I'm really getting anything out of using them except stressing!

Pyjamas81 · 13/08/2016 10:13

Sounds like a good plan jj - I would do the same if my cycles weren't quite so unpredictable! And I have no other signs of being in fertile week (hardly any CM worth noting), so I have to OPK test as well, even though it stresses me out!

Eva30 · 13/08/2016 10:18

Thanks ladies, you're so nice. I'm ok now, I did a 20minute 'yoga for complete beginners' which I found on YouTube and then went for a run and it was so refreshing so I'm feeling a lot better than earlier.
DH is at work. I was already planning how I was going to tell him when he got in - that's the level of insanity I had got to haha!
I'm going to head out shopping and treat myself to some new clothes - going to New York in a few weeks for my 30th birthday so on the plus side at least I can have some cocktails when there!!
busy yes please do stick around here and stop us all losing the plot.
pyjamas what cd are you on now? I kinda wish AF would hurry up so I can get on with cycle 5 now. I do like ff, I used Ovia for the first month and it just asks for too much info for me, like what activity you've done and if you've taken vitamins lol. I like ff because it's basic (although it does look complicated at first) and shows the full cycle.
jj I totally understand where you're coming from. I can never get back to sleep after taking bbt so I'm really struggling with getting my 8 hours!

Pyjamas81 · 13/08/2016 10:29

Glad you're feeling a bit better Eva - you're right , the imagination runs wild! you're not out yet remember, but am sure it's better for dmsanity to limit hope building!

I'm on CD5 now - this is a good part of the cycle, I'm over the BFNs and AF, not fertile so I can totally relax (and misbehave if I want to), but mentally feeling readier for another go Smile

BusyNothings · 13/08/2016 12:26

Glad you are feeling better eva sounds like just what you needed to get your mind off it.

Sounds like your in the sweet spot pj! Enjoy it!

That's a good idea jj no point pushing to do stuff which just causes more stress or worry just do what's right for you =]

Elmwood30 · 13/08/2016 19:02

Hi! Hope it's ok to join. My husband and I agreed to "see what happens but not actively try". I then got my hopes up when seemingly felt a few symptoms of early pregnancy (tiredness, really sore boobs, needing to pee often) but then AF visited today. I am devastated. This is only our first month of trying and I know it is so naive to think it will happen as quickly but I am just so sad! Probably hormonal too!

Difficultyear2015 · 13/08/2016 22:55

Think AF may show up any time soon

I have had cramps since Monday without no show of anything but just found vey light tinge of brown down there after DTD

Likely to hit me with avengence tomorrow no doubt

Pyjamas81 · 14/08/2016 12:09

Welcome elmwood - sorry AF got you Sad i just had my first TTC cycle as well and I found AF's arrival really disheartening. But, I tried to look at it on a positive side - my disappointment showed me I that I am ready to start a family.

How are you getting on difficult? Any sign of AF?

I'm nursing a bit of a hangover today - was supposed to go to the gym this morning, but ended up watching crap telly instead. Oh well!! The OPK POAS begins again this week, so I'm enjoying the relaxed feeling while it lasts!

Difficultyear2015 · 14/08/2016 12:36

pj no sign of AF yet and brown spotting seems to have stopped. Effectively on CD 30 now so will wait it out a little longer. I had pink spotting 11 days ago for 2 days so no idea what my body is trying to do

Difficultyear2015 · 14/08/2016 12:37

I'm being good with the alcohol intake the past week as I had a works do and got so horrendously drunk that i felt pickled for a good few days after

Hope you feel better soon.

Shoney85 · 14/08/2016 15:57

Afternoon would like to join, this is our first time trying to conceive, i finished the pill mid January then had a period. Had occasional spotting over the next five months, ovulated June (although didn't realise at the time) then had my first proper period 21st June and then began trying. We went on honeymoon and had a great holiday but didn't actually think about me having longer cycles and I think we my have missed the boat. I had a forty day cycle and got my 2nd period 31st July. We now have been ovulation strips and testing daily to see. So far nothing but if I have a longer one not looking to ovulate till nearer the end of August so praying for it to work. At the moment trying to do it every couple of days. Both just so anxious to be parents. Fingers crossed it work this time.
