Thought I would create a fresh thread as the original had been going since Feb. This is for anyone TTC #1, a bit of moral support as we all attempt to embark on the scary journey that is parenthood! Join us if you are a mix of terrified and excited, don't really know what you're doing yet and hadn't heard of CM before you started reading Mumsnet!!

Marmite and daisy - v impressed with your ability to avoid tracking obsession! It sucked me in right from the start ha ha. But, if I hadn't been tracking I would have totally missed ovulation day as it was so late (also CD20) - thanks, pill, for bringing all this randomness into my life!

Still no sign of AF for me - just the odd random pain on my left - felt like I had a stitch earlier. Who knows!

I use Ovia and I like it basically because it's nicer to look at (am so superficial) - I did download the FF app, but it all looked too complicated!

I'm exactly the same when DH goes away daisy - I actually cancel plans just because I know I've got a chance to get some total solitude! Always happy when he's back and I haven't spoken to another human for a few days though Smile

Daisy111 · 04/08/2016 13:31

I do track like a loony leading up to ov, then I try to forget about it during 2ww. Which seems to just result in confusion!

Does anyone use the CB fertility monitor? Does it track temp too? Going to splash out on one when (if?) AF arrives, as it will make me feel proactive and more positive!

Eva30 · 04/08/2016 15:40

daisy I use CB monitor, no it doesn't give temp, it's just an advanced OPK - it is more accurate because it detects two hormones which increase before ov.
I've decided I'm going to stop taking pregnacare and just start folic acid. It's messing up my cycles and that's the last thing I need!!

Eva30 · 04/08/2016 15:41

I got my bbt thermometer on Amazon for about £6

Daisy111 · 04/08/2016 16:28

Thanks Eva, I already temp, and think I will carry on with that out of interest. But I'm not that great at pinpointing ovulation, so hopefully will help with that.

Difficultyear2015 · 04/08/2016 16:38

Still some nausea this morning. But at least no more spotting for 2 days now. AF due next weekend.
DP gave me nice massage last night to help relax me.

We wont be tracking ovulation at this stage. If after 6 cycles we arent successful, then I might start it then, but I haven't tracked before and I think it saves me from going a bit loopy.

Im having my first ever Acupuncture in an hour. Im hoping she can shed some light and help me feel better. She is Zita West approved.

DP's birthday weekend, so want to enjoy it!

Difficultyear2015 · 04/08/2016 16:41

In other news. My nemesis gave birth yesterday.

So jealous.

BusyNothings · 04/08/2016 21:38

Ugh hate that difficult but oooh squishy baby.

I've put together three wine racks and two full drawer units today because they've been waiting on dh for weeks. I am the diy God. And now cannot move. How's you guys?

Pyjamas81 · 04/08/2016 22:03

Good diy work busy! I once hired someone to come to my flat to assemble a flatpack medium bookcase. I shit you not.

Still no AF for me - have been kind of 'burpy' (nice) and lightheaded on occasion today, with pretty much constant stomach pains (not cramps), and the smell of dh's dinner just made me physically gag... If this is all in my head, then that's really scary!

I have a dilemma now - I have work drinks tomorrow and if I don't drink, people will rumble me even though I may not be (and am most likely not) pregnant! I think I'll go and have a half pint or two if AF hasn't shown by then.

How are things with you?

BusyNothings · 04/08/2016 22:16

Not bothering with OPK now. AF due on Monday and had 3 days of no line at all. My temps are a bit high for AF due but shall see. Got a night away this weekend to see a play I'm really excited =]

That's sounding really promising pj can you nurse one or two halves for a while or is it a round situation?

I used to be useless at diy but I think frustration in waiting for dh spurred me on lol

marmitecheesetoast · 04/08/2016 22:21

Sounds like some interesting symptoms pyjamas! fx for you! I think definitely go half pint or two!

Pyjamas81 · 04/08/2016 22:23

Fair enough - can see why you just want to wait! If AF arrives, you'll be able to hopefully pinpoint things more.

Ooo I love plays - that sounds fun Smile

I think I could probably nurse a couple of half pints for a while and DH is going to turn up to take me out to dinner. It is usually rounds, but people don't really keep track so easy to get around! If AF is going to show, I want it to be tomorrow so I can just let my hair down!

Pyjamas81 · 04/08/2016 22:29

Thanks marmite!

BusyNothings · 04/08/2016 22:44

That's good pj at least you have a way round it! And yes AF would be nice but I'm sure the alternative is a bit more exciting! (If scary as hell)

It's the Ian Mckellan and Patrick Stewart play. I'm humongous fans of both so ridiculously excited. We booked a nice hotel and meal and making a bit of a thing of it. Just a bit worried I have family round there and not told them we are visiting because we wanted a night away just us and they won't like that.

Pyjamas81 · 04/08/2016 22:55

Yep - alternative to AF way more exciting Grin If totally freaking terrifying Shock We shall see - only two sleeps until testing if AF doesn't show...

The play sounds amazing - I'm huge fans of them too! My family would be the same, but sometimes we just have to do what we have to do!

Daisy111 · 05/08/2016 07:46

Feeling a bit shaky. Have just done two ICs at what I think is13/14 DPO. I've not done many tests before, so not v experienced at reading them, and I didn't trust the first one so did another. I think they're positive? Although I did wonder if the lines should be stronger if I am where I think I am in my cycle. Any thoughts?

First time TTC - thread 2
marmitecheesetoast · 05/08/2016 07:53

Congrats Daisy they are definitely a BFP!!!! I'd say they were quite strong for ICs too. I hear you on the feeling shaky thing...

Pyjamas81 · 05/08/2016 07:54

Definitely BFPs daisy!!!!!!!

Daisy111 · 05/08/2016 08:03

Thanks ladies. Sitting here eating my porridge and not really believing it. Might invest in a posh test before I let myself accept it! Def not telling DH yet. Need to confirm it and get my head around it first!

Pyjamas81 · 05/08/2016 08:11

It must be surreal! Maybe get a digital test - nothing like seeing it in writing! Massive congratulations!

marmitecheesetoast · 05/08/2016 08:12

Definitely calls for a Frer! But that is definitely a super duper BFP!! Grin I wish I'd done that yesterday and kept it to myself for at least a few hours before telling DH. Really struggling to get my head around it.

Eva30 · 05/08/2016 08:52

They are great lines daisy for that early on IC's, congratulations!!
pyjamas how are you getting on? Testing tomorrow? Good luck, I have my fx for you. Bit of a temp rise today for me but really not optimistic (4dpo)

Pyjamas81 · 05/08/2016 08:55

Still no AF for me! Had another dip on temp but still looks like upwards trend?! So damn confusing!!

Yep - testing tomorrow. Nearly did today, but chickened out!

First time TTC - thread 2
Daisy111 · 05/08/2016 09:37

Thanks everyone, will let you know what a FRER has to say on the matter later...

Fx for everyone testing soon.

Xx

Daisy111 · 05/08/2016 11:07

Not much arguing with that then! Looks like a sober hen do for my friend this evening... Will have to try and be subtle about it!
