Thought I would create a fresh thread as the original had been going since Feb. This is for anyone TTC #1, a bit of moral support as we all attempt to embark on the scary journey that is parenthood! Join us if you are a mix of terrified and excited, don't really know what you're doing yet and hadn't heard of CM before you started reading Mumsnet!!

Haha laughing at all these posts.

I so admire you patience as I have non!

In other news, before you ladies actually started DTD but wanted to conceive did you get irrationally jealous of other pregnant women or new babies? I'd like to think I'm normally level headed but today I saw a new momma cuddling a very new baby and I was overcome with this awful nasty mood. I felt jealous and annoyed and I couldn't wait to get away from her. The other half thinks I've gone mad. I know we are on our way but we can't actually start until after the wedding and honeymoon. Which I know is super close but I still feel crazy.

Sorry for the long post but I'm praying you're going to tell me this is sort of normal? ConfusedBlush

Pyjamas81 · 03/08/2016 19:43

I know Eva - it's starting to become an illness hahaha.

Bliss - hasn't personally happened to me, but I've always been the world's least maternal/broody person! Puppies, yes, babies, not so much ha ha. However, I can see that changing pretty damn quick if we find it difficult to conceive. But, I can totally see how you would feel that way - totally normal!

Daisy111 · 03/08/2016 20:08

Pjs, I am completely the same - it's always been all about the baby animals! The only human babies I could really get excited about were nephews and nieces etc, but I've def always known I want children, and the switch was flipped recently... I'm now officially broody.

Eva30 · 03/08/2016 20:23

I notice pregnant women from a mile off these days and imagine what I'd look like with a bumpBlush I would obviously never admit this in real life, only in this virtual world!!

BusyNothings · 03/08/2016 20:35

bliss I'm with you on that. Suddenly and irrationally angry or moody and very jealous. I never wanted kids until the last year or so and then about 6 months ago a switch flipped and I became crazy broody. I don't visualise being pregnant. But bouncing a chubby baby on my knee and my god that smell! I can't feel my uterus melting thinking about it!

Yeah I'm definitely going to get a digi OPK for next months when I know my cycle length. I've also heard the prolonged positive opks can be a sign of early pregnancy!

Pyjamas81 · 03/08/2016 20:47

Glad I'm not the only one daisy! I like one child -and only because she's such a little badass ha ha. My mum was the same - not bothered about any babies apart from her own! Thank goodness! And she's the best mum ever Grin

You'll like the digi opks busy - much clearer!

Eva30 · 04/08/2016 05:46

Well, I'm on what I thought would be 3dpo today but I've had no thermal shift so fertility friend is saying I haven't ovulated this month Sad

Pyjamas81 · 04/08/2016 06:15

I'm really hopeless at reading temp charts Eva - what is the temp supposed to do when you ovulate? Remember temping isn't always accurate - not over until AF arrives!

Still no sign of AF for me (Ovia has now wiped all future predictions) and my temp is up again...

I keep waking up throughout the night and super early - the nerves are getting to me Confused

Eva30 · 04/08/2016 06:59

It should be 'triphasic' they call it Confused so after ov there should be a temp shift up and then in the last third there should be another temp shift up. Ugh I'm starting to lose hope! I'll just wait and see what happens.
pyjamas yours is looking really promising. On my last 3 cycles I had the temp rises like yours but then by about cd27 my temp starts to drop getting ready for AF but yours keeps rising, you still planning on testing on Sat? I don't know how you're holding out haha

Pyjamas81 · 04/08/2016 07:13

Jeez Eva - it's all so confusing! I'm staying optimistic for you though!

Yep - mine are confusing up and down but the general trend is up. Who knows, might dramatically fall tomorrow...

Still waiting until Saturday - have busy couple of days at work, and if I'm distracted now, I'll be useless if I find out in pregnant! Also want to go out on Friday - nothing crazy, but it might be my last mini hurrah. I'm really nervous about a BFP as well. Excited, but scared! Definitely fear holding me back from testing. And I see so many instances on chemical pregnancies, I'm giving AF as long as possible to show up - I'd rather not know!

Daisy111 · 04/08/2016 07:20

Pj I am in almost exactly same boat as you. AF due today ( but sometimes it's a bit late so Sun/Mon would also be normal.) my temps are doing same as yours, and still high this morning. I also want a night out on Friday! Not sure when to test. Like you, am nervous of the BFN...

Eva30 · 04/08/2016 07:23

Yeah that's a good idea if you've a lot going on with work. I think that's only natural about a BFP, I'd be the same if I ever got two lines. But thankfully we'd have 9 months to get used to it!

Pyjamas81 · 04/08/2016 07:34

Ooooo how many dpo are you daisy? I'll be 12 on Saturday.

Thank goodness for that 9 months Eva! It will take a while to get my head around it if it happens! I keep having wobbles about losing my career and independence, but I'm exactly where I want to be in my career so I don't have anything to worry about! Sounds selfish, but I also worry about losing my 'me' time, I frequently need solitude to recharge and that will be much harder! But, I also know it will be worth itSmile

marmitecheesetoast · 04/08/2016 08:22

Hi guys, hope you're all well waves!

I fell off the thread for a bit, been trying to stay chilled and not dwell on ttc too much.

Anyway, am on cycle 3 now and currently in 2ww. Did an IC on a whim this morning and got a very faint line, wondering if maybe evap line??! Although it did appear within first 2 minutes. Am I going crazy?! I don't want to get too excited as think may not be a real line and still quite early, ~12dpo

I see a line marmite!!!! I may be wrong but I think a line is a line on those tests!

Piehunter · 04/08/2016 08:52

marmite I see it too! If it appears within the time then it's a line!

Eva30 · 04/08/2016 09:06

marmite it's definitely a line!! Congratulations!

Daisy111 · 04/08/2016 09:08

Pj I'm actually not that sure how many DPO I am, party as have been trying not to count and obsess too much, and partly because I find the Glow app so useless- it seems you have to pay to look at your charts. Grrr. So on looking back, I now can't pinpoint which day ovulation was. Anyway, I think I must be 13-14 DPO. Basically I think I could prob test now, but am scared. Like you, both of the BFN and also the BFP! I know which I'd prefer though...Wink

I completely agree on loss of me time - I get really grumpy if I don't get alone time, eg I love it when DH goes on a stag do or something. Could be a problem!

I need a new app - is FF any good? Stupid Glow!

Xx

Eva30 · 04/08/2016 09:08

marmite which days of FW did you DTD? Any symptoms? Would you show us your chart? sorry for the interrogation, I need all the tips I can getGrin

Daisy111 · 04/08/2016 09:10

Oh and congratulations marmite, I see it too!

And what a great name - I have been eating lots of marmite with the excuse that it's good for B vitamins. But mainly it's just delicious and amazing.

Eva30 · 04/08/2016 09:12

daisy I use ff and really like it. I used Ovia but wasn't as keen, doesn't let you see the big picture very easily, very focused on the 5 days previous! You get a free trial with ff but then have to pay too - I think it was about £20 for annual subscription. Can choose 60 day and 120 day too if I remember rightly.

Daisy111 · 04/08/2016 09:41

Ah thanks Eva - I didn't realise you had to pay for FF and others too. In that case, I'm probably best off just paying for Glow, as I already have lots of data in there from past months.

marmitecheesetoast · 04/08/2016 09:57

Thanks all! Trying not to get too excited just yet, will do a Frer tomorrow morning and see...

Eva I haven't been doing charting or anything, just did OPKs for the first time this month. Been trying not to obsess over it too much! I seem to have ovulated late on on CD20 (super-long post pill cycles here) tried to not worry too much about FW and tried to just dtd every other day instead. Ended up dtd on cycle days 10, 12, 14, 16, 19, 20, 22.

It might not even be a bfp. Just trying to be cautious I guess. Kinda doubting myself here.

Thanks Daisy, big marmite fan here! Grin

marmitecheesetoast · 04/08/2016 10:00

Oh and in terms of symptoms mainly just tired (but been really busy at work) and my tummy has been a bit off this week, but again put this down to feeling stressed at work/AF approaching. I've also felt a bit lightheaded few times this week but I have low BP so that easily explained away too by having stood up too quickly... Nothing that really stands out unless being a crazy symptom spotter!
