Thought I would create a fresh thread as the original had been going since Feb. This is for anyone TTC #1, a bit of moral support as we all attempt to embark on the scary journey that is parenthood! Join us if you are a mix of terrified and excited, don't really know what you're doing yet and hadn't heard of CM before you started reading Mumsnet!!

Morning girls. Reached a new low yesterday - POAS 6 times ConfusedSadHmm just couldn't get a positive OPK and yesterday was 16. Unheard of to be later than that. It got quite dark by 9pm but still not the blazer I usually get. Will be sneaking a few at work today.

Blissful I'm 32, ttc1, cycle 8 Envy welcome on board.

BusyNothings · 01/08/2016 09:10

Ah london try not to worry if it's dark then it could just be taking its time!

I'm 26, ttc #1, first full cycle day 22 of my first period in five years due to having two contraceptive implants. So not only ttc confusion but also wtf is my body doing confusion.

Blissfulignorance · 01/08/2016 10:46

Thanks guys but I don't understand Confused what do the abbreviation ms mean?

POAS
OPK

And there are others I'm sure I don't get? Also I be figured out AF means period but what does it stand for?

Pyjamas81 · 01/08/2016 12:48

Ha ha don't worry, it will become your second language soon! POAS stands for pee on a stick. (lovely, I know) and OPK stands for ovulation prediction kit which is basically a stick you pee on which tells you when you're about to ovulate. AF stands for Aunt Flo Smile

Feeling pretty tense today knowing AF due tomorrow but know I can't test! Temp was up this morning...

Blissfulignorance · 01/08/2016 14:49

Ahh thank you! I feel like such a novice but I'm so grateful for your help. I've got all my busy fingers crossed for you ladies. Smile

Can't wait to start POAS! Grin

BusyNothings · 01/08/2016 15:30

Haha no worries bliss there is a mumsnet glossary - http://www.mumsnet.com/info/acronyms

You will soon get the hang of them don't worry.

pj have you decided when to start testing if no show tomorrow?

Difficultyear2015 · 01/08/2016 15:36

Hello ladies. Can I join here?

I am 30, TTC #1. Cycle 1, have not had full cycle yet since coming off pill (Marvelon).

Getting all sorts of weird symptoms that make me question whats going on, but trying to keep level headed.

My symptoms started way too early after stopping pill to be anything to do with pregnancy that my body just seems to be having a laugh. So far Ive had:

Frequent urination
Hot flashes
Bloated
Pelvic pain
Abdominal cramping
Light pink spotting
Emotional
Funny taste in mouth
Nauseous
Tired
Struggle sleeping on my front (usual position).

This may just be a sign of what my body is typically like without the added hormones! haha.

i have been keeping up to date with Ovia since coming off pill, and based on that I am currently CD17.

BusyNothings · 01/08/2016 16:06

Hi difficult! That list is everything I had for about 6 weeks after coming off the implant. Then I evened out and my cycle started. Try not to worry too much just keep recording it and it'll get into a rhythm

Blissfulignorance · 01/08/2016 16:37

Very helpful busy thank you!

difficult it's sounds to me as if your body is just adjusting to life with out artificial hormones. I tried almost every pill and injection under the sun years ago mostly because of painful periods rather than contraception but every time I gave up with one or the other I had those type of symptoms, they usually settle after a few months. I haven't taken anything for about 2 yet as now and I'm almost regular to the day now.

BusyNothings · 01/08/2016 16:40

No worries bliss lol I had that open in another tab for about the first month of mumsnet!

Pyjamas81 · 01/08/2016 16:47

Hi busy - I suppose I should wait until at least 10dpo which would be thurs if AF hasn't arrived by then! But I'm going to try and hold out for Saturday - mainly because if it's a BFN I'll probs be a little disappointed and if it's a BFP I'll be absolutely freaking terrified and would no way be able to concentrate in the office!

Blissfulignorance · 01/08/2016 16:57

I admire your patience pyjamas. And I have my fingers crossed for you. Out of curiosity what brand of test will you use? Anyone have an opinion on the £1 vs £15 tests?

Pyjamas81 · 01/08/2016 17:06

I've got 2 FRERs and 2 Clearblue digitals on standby!

Jjspoon · 01/08/2016 20:44

Hi bliss :) I'm 27 ttc #1, came off the pill 2nd may and got a BFP on cycle2 in June but then had mc at 7 weeks but i think I lost it a week or so before I actually started bleeding. That was 2 and half weeks ago now so back to cycle 1. I was lucky as was on the pill non stop for 12 years but my first cycle after stopping was 28 days (and then got my BFP result cycle 2 on cd28) so luckily everything got back to normal pretty quickly for me. Just no idea what my body is doing now... I didn't do anything like opks etc for first 2 cycles just went by cm to guess when I was ovulating but I've just started temping last week although they're crazy at the moment!

Everyone on this thread is lovely and it's great to have people to go through this craziness with.

I've used clearblue digitals and have 3 in stand by because I'm ocd and can't be dealing with squinting!

Jjspoon · 01/08/2016 20:45

Pj testing day getting close for you, how exciting!

Pyjamas81 · 01/08/2016 23:10

Ha ha jj - exciting yes, also shit scary!

Blissfulignorance · 02/08/2016 07:47

Hi jj so sorry to hear of your mc, must have been difficult. Love how positive you sound now though and I really hope things get better for you! I can only admire you ladies who go through mc and get back on the train again. I'm so terrified of it. (Hoping that's normal).

pj I so would have tested by now.

Pyjamas81 · 02/08/2016 08:12

Ha ha - it's fear more than patience that's kept me from testing so far! AF due today (allegedly). Ovia has assumed that AF has already started so has changed my test day to 29 days time! Will have to see what it says if AF doesn't arrive today! Although I would still be only 9 dpo tomorrow.

Blissfulignorance · 02/08/2016 08:23

Do you get AF symptoms? I hands down when I'm going to be graced with AF about 2 days before. Although I've never had a pregnancy either so I don't really know what I'm talking about?! Shutting up. Smile

Difficultyear2015 · 02/08/2016 08:45

My symptoms are getting weirder by the day.

Boobs ached last night
Lower back aches
Light pink spotting again for the 3rd day
Unstable emotions - I cried when DP showed me a photo last night and when I forgot to order crumpets on the shop
Im so gassy

I thought I was over the symptoms of adjusting to being off the pill a few weeks ago, and have been fine up until these past 3 days.

I am wondering if its just a cold and all my symptoms are down to that hanging on.

Pyjamas81 · 02/08/2016 08:47

Ha ha - I definitely don't know what I'm talking about when it comes to TTC! I'm usually in a foul mood in the run up to AF which hasn't happened apart from feeling a bit 'meh' and run down yesterday, but I think it was because work issues were getting on my nerves! I don't really get strong physical symptoms. updated Ovia with no AF today to see when test day would be (I can always change it later) - test day would still be Saturday. Stressful week! Have dinner with friends tonight, so at least will be distracted!

BusyNothings · 02/08/2016 10:11

You are being very patient pj!

difficult I know it doesn't make it sound any easier but I had those symptoms for about 6 weeks after coming off the implant. I thought I was going insane. I even did a couple of pregnancy tests just to make sure! Hang in there Flowers

I swear my boobs have grown. Seriously uncomfortable and all of my bras feel like torture devices. And I've got another mad day of running around. I was in ikea yesterday absolutely pooped on the third hour of following my mum around and this 7 month pregnant woman came and sat next to me and we got chatting. I swear to god she must be superwoman. It was hot and cold in there to varying extremes. A long bloody walk and really busy. How she was managing it I've no idea.

Difficultyear2015 · 02/08/2016 10:33

Based on my last pill this would be about right timing for ovulation and the twinges are reminiscent of that old feeling I used to get.

I'm as horny as anything but feeling so rough so don't think I will be making the most of it this month!!

Pyjamas81 · 02/08/2016 11:29

Ha ha busy - I'm secretly pleased test day isn't until Saturday as I have a work do on Friday night and want to enjoy a couple (not crazy amount) of drinks in blissful ignorance! AF will probs be here by then anyway!

That is some strange boob behaviour! Did that used to happen around AF time or is this totally new?

BusyNothings · 02/08/2016 12:55

They were like this last month but I don't remember what it was like before the implant I think I blocked all that out lol.

Ah fair enough pj ignorance is definitely bliss!

difficult that sucks I hope you feel better soon. Have you thought about what kind of things you might want to or not want to do to track it all? It's about finding what you feel comfortable with
