Thought I would create a fresh thread as the original had been going since Feb. This is for anyone TTC #1, a bit of moral support as we all attempt to embark on the scary journey that is parenthood! Join us if you are a mix of terrified and excited, don't really know what you're doing yet and hadn't heard of CM before you started reading Mumsnet!!

Congrats Bridget!!

FYI anyone who was interested I've started reading 'the whole 9 months' before giving it to oh and it's pretty good so far, I'll let you know when I get more in to it but looking like a good choice for dad's to be.

BridgetDoodle · 26/06/2016 18:58

I couldn't wait until tomorrow 🙈 but now that I have those words I can finally relax and believe that this is actually happening.
Thanks for the tip jjspoon, will look into that tonight! Although I'm not sure how keen DH is on reading books 😑

Congratulations!!!!! FlowersFlowersFlowers

Lemon27 · 27/06/2016 00:05

Congratulations Bridget!!

Got my AF this morning...felt crampy yesterday so kinda knew it was coming on, definitely felt quite disappointed but in a way it's good as it's making me realise this is something that I'm actually ready for and really want so roll on next month!

Also a friend announced her pregnancy yesterday (she literally only got married in February so it's fast work!) and while I'm really delighted for her I had a very real stab of jealousy/sadness that it wasn't me Confused

Onwards to July!

BusyNothings · 27/06/2016 09:31

lemon yay that you have had a realisation moment. Can get excited and get going now. Also not to worry about the jealous stab - it happens as long as you don't let it effect your friendship!

I'm still in no mans land. Temping is all over the place and still no positive OPKs or AF. Envy

Eva30 · 27/06/2016 10:43

Does anyone else get bad headaches before ov? I can literally predict them to the day, crazy. I'm cd11 now, due to ov cd15, these headaches will last 2-3 days and then I'll start to get dark lines on opks.

BusyNothings · 27/06/2016 12:48

That's really good eva at least you know when to be proactive. But not the headaches, headaches suck!

Jjspoon · 27/06/2016 18:09

Sorry for the bfn lemon onwards and fx for you next cycle. None of my friends have kids yet but I get that stab of jealousy and real sadness anytime I see anyone with a baby Sad here's to us getting that BFP soon!

Cd27 here and I have no idea what's going on. No symptoms at all and now I'm getting creamy cm again... sorry for tmi but that's not right for when I'm due af any day! It's all so all over the place. I've surprised myself with my patience not POAS yet lol. But on the negative side if my af doesn't come next day or two then I think I probably guessed my ov date completely wrong and happened after I thought so will definitely start opks next cycle.

Eva I used to get migraines the day before I got my af when I was on the pill so can definitely be caused by hormones. Luckily I didn't with my first real af last month so hoping they stay away but at least it's a sign you can use :)

BusyNothings · 27/06/2016 18:12

jj you could still be right cm isn't that trustworthy according to all the stuff I'm reading! Keep fingers crossed - do you have a testing date in mind for this month?

I'm really starting to get down at the minute. I was prepared for bfn and it taking months to get anywhere. I was not prepared for over a month of waiting to get my body back to what it should be doing. Even a little bit would be nice! Even a period. Anything to show its working! Seriously you should see my ovia chart it's like a roller coaster to who knows what!

Lemon27 · 27/06/2016 18:27

Thanks Jjspoon and Busynothings...it's nice to have a moan on here!! Oh well silver lining - I have a 3 day wedding this weekend so can let my hair down and not worry about everyone noticing I'm not drinking! 👍🏻😂

Talking about headaches....I've a self inflicted one going on today....trying to seriously cut back on caffeine so haven't even had a cup of green tea today....think I'll have to have one when I get in tho the withdrawals are killing me Hmm

BusyNothings · 27/06/2016 20:25

lemon I've cut back from caffeine. I'm allowing myself one smallish sized cup a day - harder than it looks. The first week was a nightmare but I feel better for it now.

How long do you reckon is too long for things not to happen? Ie period etc not to turn up

Jjspoon · 27/06/2016 20:49

Thanks busy :) it's just frustrating! I'm trying to hold out as long as possible but I think Thurs morning very latest if no af by then as otherwise I'll have a few drinks on Friday as have a night out planned. That'll be 15dpo (if I judged it right). I know how you must feel, I really wish I'd stopped the pill earlier to give myself a few months before actually starting trying... Nothing like hindsight! We will know for next time hahaha Wink

I'm lucky I think as I swapped to decaf years ago so one less thing I've had to change/give up! It does get better!

BusyNothings · 27/06/2016 21:06

Ok so Thursday jj! Fingers crossed! I do envy your Friday night out though lol in process of trying to sell house means no nights out.

I'm on a serious Google binge right now and driving myself loopy.

CinnamonTwist · 27/06/2016 22:15

Congratulations Bridget that's great GrinFlowers
I'm pretty sure AF is on its way for me, quite crampy today and skin has gone a bit spottier! Oh well, next cycle!

OP posts:
Jjspoon · 27/06/2016 22:23

I've just done a very bad thing and looked up very early pregnancy signs so now I'm symptom spotting lol, why oh why do we do this to ourselves?! One of them was feeling dizzy and I have been like that loads the last few days every time I stand up but don't want to get my hopes up!

Busy... we are currently moving house so I deserve it lol. Spent the last week cleaning, buying, moving and decorating and I've worked bloody hard lol. Can't wait to just get in there

BusyNothings · 28/06/2016 08:55

You definitely deserve it. We are under offer and waiting on our buyer to get their butt into gear. Driving me insane with the stress.

Also step away from the google it will just make you as loopy as me!

Jjspoon · 28/06/2016 12:54

So.. after saying last night that I would wait until Thursday to test I got really impatient over night and have literally just POAS..... 3 minute wait now lol

Jjspoon · 28/06/2016 12:57

Holy crap.... is this what I think it is? I'm shaking..... oh isn't here , hes at work!

First time TTC - thread 2
Jjspoon · 28/06/2016 12:57

Please someone tell me in not going crazy!!!!!!!

BusyNothings · 28/06/2016 13:01

I see a line!!! Yay! Congratulations!!

Jjspoon · 28/06/2016 13:08

Oh my God thanks busy I'm in shock... there's no one here and I'm physically shaking! I'll have to wait until I see OH tonight to tell him! I was not expecting it all all....

BusyNothings · 28/06/2016 13:20

That's so exciting I'm really pleased for you! How you are managing to wait until dh gets home is crazy lol I'd be on the phone very grown up of you!

CinnamonTwist · 28/06/2016 13:27

There's definitely a line!! Congratulations!!

I had a wave of nausea earlier, now wondering if I'm imagining the cramps or the nausea... Confused AF due tomorrow, Ovia says I can test today, may have to test tomorrow. We didn't manage to DTD that much during my FW so I had kind of written off the possibility this month... Seeing all your BFPs is making me want to test though!

OP posts:
Jjspoon · 28/06/2016 14:03

So I couldn't wait but didn't want to tell him over the phone so I've just come his work and told him (I have the week off). I feel bad I just kind of blurted it out and cried (not how I pictured telling him at all!) But I just felt so overwhelmed. He was in shock too and now he's acting a bit odd... feel bad that I should've waited til he was home as he has to carry on at work like nothings happened.

Cinnamon do it lol. I've had cramps for 2 days but no AF so it could be a BFP for you too!

BusyNothings · 28/06/2016 17:37

I'm sure he just had a bit of a shell shocked moment jj and is really excited too!
