Thought I would create a fresh thread as the original had been going since Feb. This is for anyone TTC #1, a bit of moral support as we all attempt to embark on the scary journey that is parenthood! Join us if you are a mix of terrified and excited, don't really know what you're doing yet and hadn't heard of CM before you started reading Mumsnet!!

No worries pyjamas! Thought it'd be a fun way to do it!

I haven't read it yet but it has good reviews so I'll let you know what it's like when I've had a flick through! It's rated highly for books for dad's.

Eva30 · 21/06/2016 21:46

Hey all, back from hols. AF came for two days then kinda stopped and then came for another 2 days, very odd but hey ho, on we plod. Cd5 now, Etd 17th July. It seems so far away!

jpoc14 · 21/06/2016 23:12

Hi all, first post here! I'm 26, ttc #1, cycle 1.
After our honeymoon we decided to just see what happens but I've immediately gone from relaxed and casual to obsessing over dates and symptoms! Confused

Pyjamas81 · 22/06/2016 08:29

So I did my Clearblue digi OPK test this morning and got a flashing smiley face - much sooner than I thought it would happen! We're out tonight so no chance of dtd, but at least now I know peak time may be closer than I thought.

Ha ha - I was exactly the same after honeymoon jpoc - totally in let's see what mode and now look at me a couple of months later - temping and peeing on sticks!

BusyNothings · 22/06/2016 18:45

Wow pj that's good! The clear blue ones confuse me.

jpoc welcome to the obsess and confused camp! Have you researched stuff or just freaking out?

eva glad you had a good holiday! At least you can get going again and July will be here in no time!

I'm even more confused than ever. After mild brown spotting stopped I had a few days of nothing now got "egg whites" and god knows what. Thing is I stopped temping and testing for a few days due to stress of house sale. So bloody confused.

jpoc14 · 22/06/2016 19:19

Hi BusyNothings - I've been reading everything and using ovulation sticks. Had a 'smiley face' for one day then not a second day!? It's only my first cycle of trying so I need to relax a little - but once we made the decision to try I now want it to happen! Too impatient! Smile

Eva30 · 22/06/2016 20:08

Thanks busynothings Smile I know that feeling of house stress, I've been in mine about 6 weeks now and finally starting to de-stress. Just keep thinking "it might take weeks or months but it'll all be perfect in the end"! Where are you up to in your cycle?

BusyNothings · 22/06/2016 20:19

jpoc you need to read the impatient woman's guide to getting pregnant. It's not a manual as such but talks about why we feel impatient and not as easy to just relax like generations before. Also explains things really well to help you manage ttc and expectations. But you done well to get a positive OPK!

eva glad you starting to destress! I've never sold a house before and by god I never want to do it again. It's horrific. I have no idea where I am in my cycle! This is what's driving me insane. I had no periods on the 2 implants I had the second of which came out 31st may. Before the implant they were long, heavy and horrific. Since it came out I had two weeks of nothing. A week of sore boobs. Two days of brown and really thick spotting. Then two days of nothing. Now I've got the "egg white" stuff. But throughout this I've gotten negative OPKs. So not a clue. Totally confused.

Pyjamas81 · 23/06/2016 14:25

Got a peak fertility result on OPK today - so much quicker than expected! Think Ovia is going to have a meltdown ha ha

BusyNothings · 23/06/2016 17:14

Yay pj! That's good and ovia will catch up eventually lol I think mines going to go on strike soon.

I'm beginning to wonder if my OPKs are broken. I've never even had the hint of a line

BridgetDoodle · 23/06/2016 19:09

Hello ladies, was wondering if I could join :-) I'm 28 and TTC #1, in my TWW of cycle 3 and driving myself crazy. Decided this month to be super relaxed and just DTD every other day and see what happens...then sister in law announced her pregnancy and sent me into a panic! Felt very nauseous and faint today, convinced myself this was it and did a first response test (AF due in 6-8 days) but BFN :-( feeling like it is an impossible feat!!!

BusyNothings · 23/06/2016 19:15

Hi bridget that's great news for your sil but I can understand why that would drive you insane. You are doing well just try and keep the crazy calm and you will get there!

And we are all a bit odd here so feel free to let the crazy out here rather than in real life!

BridgetDoodle · 23/06/2016 19:31

Thanks Busy! I feel like I am going insane, I'm the first of my friends TTC so no one to talk to and trying not to stress DH out so limiting my goings on to him. I am usually such a rational person lol.
Do you use OPK? I had ones from Boots but I never really ever got a positive from them, hence why I gave up on them this month.
Had dinner with my SIL last night and grilled her on her TTC methods and early pregnancy symptoms but she didn't have any magic answers ha!

BusyNothings · 23/06/2016 19:57

I'm in the exact same position with no one really to talk to. I can normally talk to my mum but she just keeps telling me to relax and ignore all that stuff. Not helpful.

I use OPKs and I'm temping because I had the implant for five years and no periods. Now four weeks since removed and had no period and just a whole mess of confusion so trying to figure it out. What days of your cycle did you use them? Might be you are getting your days wrong as everyone's different.

My problem is DTD the heat recently has been really bad and my dh has been feeling stressed about ttc so bit of anxiety. We are also trying to sell our house. So even if I could figure out my cycle we probably would miss the days! Confused

BridgetDoodle · 23/06/2016 20:37

I understand your anxiety completely! I got married in April and we had decided to just 'see what happens' which didn't last long. I could see DH get a bit stressed and it was affecting us DTD so this month I didn't mention baby making once...and we managed to DTD every other day!
I was using them every day from last day of period but only got a faint line one of the days.
I hope you manage to figure out your cycle ASAP, it gets so confusing! Best of it is I work in medicine and have learnt all of this but it's a completely different story once it's yourself...
I have went from feeling pregnant this morning to sure AF is coming this evening. Wish she would just come early so I can get on with it next cycle!

Pyjamas81 · 25/06/2016 14:38

How's everyone doing! What a crazy couple of days!

I got a static smiley day before yesterday, - due to all the recent events I was working too much, didn't have time and it would have felt forced so we didn't dtd. Am not too fussed about it actually, there's always next month! I've gone from obsessing to much more relaxed about it now Smile

BridgetDoodle · 25/06/2016 14:46

I did a first response this morning, thought it was negative...looked at it again now and saw a faint line. Did another one straight away and again second faint line appeared within a minute. Can you see it? Please tell me in not going mad!

First time TTC - thread 2
Pyjamas81 · 25/06/2016 15:05

Can't see anything in the top one, but can definitely see something in the bottom one!!

Russkispy · 25/06/2016 15:21

I can see faint lines in both. The bottom one is more visible!!!

BridgetDoodle · 25/06/2016 15:39

I just did a clear blue digital and it said not pregnant 😖 so I am just hoping that it is still too early to be picked up. I have 3 first response tests from today that have lines. Praying so so hard that this is it!
Has anyone else ever had a positive first response and negative clear blue?

Eva30 · 25/06/2016 17:54

Hey bridget I definitely see the lines, congrats! Hmm don't know why it wouldn't show on CB, maybe try with FMU tomorrow or Monday?

BusyNothings · 25/06/2016 18:14

I can see a line! Definitely do what eva suggested and if not try again in a few days.

BridgetDoodle · 26/06/2016 09:50

Thanks ladies!
Eva I tested this morning with FMU on a clear blue plus and there is a line! Faint again but even DH saw it straight away. All suddenly feeling very real now. Going to save my last digital for Wednesday when I'm due and fingers crossed I'll get the 'pregnant' reading!
Hope you are all having a lovely weekend, and good luck to anyone testing too xx

Eva30 · 26/06/2016 10:04

Fab bridget! Congrats again Smile

MishyBakes · 26/06/2016 10:16

That's wonderful news Bridget! Many congrats Smile
