Positive opk after a miscarriage

Hi, hoping someone a bit more knowledgable than me can help me figure this out! I had a medically managed miscarriage 9 days ago and have had strong positives on opks for the last 2 days. I know that they pick up hcg so presumed that this was just picking up left over hormones from the pregnancy. Today I had a very faint positive on a pregnancy test so looks as though my hormone levels are nearly back to normal, but the opk is still coming up with a strong positive. The pregnancy test is 10 miu and the opk 20 - so my question is this still just left over hormones when the pregnancy tests are getting lighter and the opks aren't?

Blossom, definitely fertile time!

Acu was pretty good thanks. It's a very authentic experience so not much chatting and everything he writes is in Chinese so I have no idea exactly what he's treating me for! But he did mention hormones at one point and I do feel calmer but then I haven't had PMT time this month yet - we shall see! He did ask how I was feeling, sleeping and how my tummy was (I suffer with IBS). And he always looks at my tongue but doesn't comment!

I did moxi on myself when DD1 was transverse and she turned within a few days!

When is he going away Blossom?

I'm pretty sure I ov'd on the day of my opk +

Blossom mine fades out over a couple of days, I think it varies though. Until I started crazy smep, I used to dtd the day I got a 'nearly positive' right up until I could see it fading out again. I normally get 2 days of positives so would dtd 3 days in a row. Worked first time for both my pregnancies (which kind of makes me wonder why I'm bothering with bloody smep?!)

Mine fades out too - but quicker than it fades in.

I'm thinking that next month I will start dtd nearer to ov too. Same as your method Mel.

I got pg this year dtd once the day before the ov pains - so the day before ov.

Rofl Blossom ! U made me giggle Grin
Hope it did the job !
I've been reading a book called "Why Zebras don't get Ulcers" and there's a part on stress and fertility. You all prob know this but blood flow to an early pg is paramount and the hormones released into the blood during a stressful episode starve blood to the uterus. Sooooo keep calm and carry on etc Smile

rider1975 · 12/08/2016 09:59

Saw Norwegian doc this morning - youngest doc I ever seen. Talked her thru my symptoms and she thought I should see a gynae and that I should be back on track by now. I'm not Norwegian so I'd have to go private here. Could do same in London I guess

rider1975 · 12/08/2016 10:00

Hey Blossom - sorry me again - when you talk about pains to one side? What is that? Is this normal ?

Allium40 · 12/08/2016 10:15

Thanks for the pep talk Rider, I needed that! I've been mega-stressed in the last couple of days - and breathe!

Well done Blossom (and OH)! We had the same problem last week. Definitely gonna start later next month.

McBaby, hope AF arrives soon so you can move on.

thatsnotmybear · 12/08/2016 11:35

Congrats on the positive opk Blossom and what a relief your DP was able to come up with the goods! What book are you reading btw? Trying to work it out from the blurb in your pics! Grin

8dpo here, temps still up but nothing else to report. AF due anywhere from Mon-Thurs depending on how long my cycle is this month. For the other regular tempers, when does your temp typically drop before AF?

I'm off camping today. Had inlaws visiting this week and been trying to do my usual job in half the time (because of the hols)! So looking forward to destressing!

Then next week more running around entertaining the kids then off on hols the following week (just in UK).

I am not capable of reading anything which isn't about fertility as can't switch off although I need to. I am part of a book club but never finish the books in time!

Re the temping Bear, last month I got a drop 2-3 days before AF which then recovered. I may have taken it at a different time and had got up by this time. Normally it drops on the day AF arrives.

jinglebellmel · 12/08/2016 16:41

Blossom I'm arty but that made me laugh! I'm glad the panic is over now though. I don't give dh too many details about ov etc as think it would stress him.

Bear my temp normally drops slightly the day before and significantly on the day of Af.

I'm 4 dpo and temp dropped below cover line today :/ ff took off my ovulation so I took the temp out (cheating I know but I refuse to let them remove it!) had a bad nights sleep so hoping it's back up tomorrow but worried now that maybe I didn't ov?!

Rider, would your go refer you to a gynae?

Allium enjoy the break x

Oh and books.... I just finished the particular sadness of lemon cake (strange but really enjoyed it) and just started various pets dead and alive, which also seems really good. Does help to read something which isn't google results about fertility!

Mel, if it makes you feel any better I cheat with my temps too. I take them a few times then pick the best one Smile

jinglebellmel · 12/08/2016 18:26

Haha glad it's not just me Allium!

My temps are always a bit crazy as I have bad insomnia most of the time and rarely sleep for two hours in a row!

But I have temped and tracked my cycle for quite a while to avoid pregnancy ( mans to see if my disappearing pcos is causing issues) so now I tend to ignore ff if it does something I don't like as I think you begin to understand your own body more!

It's has worked to avoid pregnancy when we wanted it to and It worked to catch the first egg after dd1 was born.

My hgc was down to just above 4 yesterday so gyne said she doesn't see any issues :) so ttc is on again this month, petrified and excited!

jinglebellmel · 12/08/2016 20:28

Yay great news mcbaby, reasuring to have the opinion of someone who knows what they're talking about. Good luck for this month!

Internet okps what day do you start using them? I was given them last month by a friend but they were positive due to pregnancy hormones but never used them before so figure I might as well :)
