Hi all

I thought I'd start the June bus as I'm getting impatient!

I'm 31 (for a bit longer anyway), TTC#1. DH and I agreed to start TTC in May, but won't be ovulating till about the 24th. ETD 8th June! Feeling terrified and excited at the same time.

Join me if you will! Smile

Sounds like you have thrush. The only symptom I get with BV is an embarrassing fishy odor after sex (sorry if tmi). The balance activ pessaries I use prior to having sex sort it out so my partner never actually noticed but I also know they can prevent you from getting pregnant. So I have two options, either stop using them and my partner noticing the BV or keep using them and not conceiving or making it much harder :( it's a horrible situation I'm in and I'm miserable

Barefootcontessa84 · 15/05/2016 08:11

Thanks Lizziedoll and sorry you're miserable Flowers have you spoken to the GP about it?

Also welcome sunshineface! everdene as this is my first month TTC I'm thinking of keeping it simple/not tracking etc, but I imagine if it takes a few months I'll be wanting to do all I can! Do you need a special thermometer to take BBT or just one that would check you have a temperature?

OP posts:
LidikaLikes · 15/05/2016 08:51

barefoot I used to chart my chart & temperatures as contraception prior to TTC.

Used a normal digital thermometer, got it from local chemist, about £5-£10.

everdene · 15/05/2016 09:19

I started with a normal thermometer Contessa but had to get a new one so upgraded to a bbt thermometer - it was about £4 on Amazon.

One thing I found it good for last time was letting me know I wasn't pregnant so I wasn't disappointed when AF arrived!

Lizziedoll · 15/05/2016 12:30

Yes I have but it keeps coming back Sad I'm seeing a specialist on Thursday, fingers crossed!

Blondie0912 · 15/05/2016 14:19

Just got diagnosed with PCOS a few weeks ago so likely that nothing will happen until I am able to get some medicine to help ovulation but I'm still gonna hold out hope anyways- you never know!!!!!!! Hope you're all enjoying the beautiful weather today!

babydances · 15/05/2016 15:18

Thank you ginandjazz I'm considering the OPK tests. I have my anaesthetic appointment mid June to check allergy before they can take implant out so may just dtd every day or two and see what happens. The implant is 8 months out of date so I'm hoping it's no longer working Hmm 8 days till Fw apparently

everdene · 15/05/2016 22:58

DH is too stressed to Dtd tonight... This might need a miracle to get a BFP for June!

MamaFern · 16/05/2016 08:59

Hi ladies, can i join too?

TTC #2

I don't have a cycle at the moment because I've only just stopped breastfeeding DS. Getting some signs of it coming back (cramps, hormones, CM) so I'm thinking it's worth trying anyway!

babydances · 16/05/2016 09:04

Hello Mamafernand welcome to the June bus
everdene are you in your FW then? Sad

Barefootcontessa84 · 16/05/2016 21:15

lizziedoll I was chatting to a friend over the weekend who it turns out is TTC and also has recurrent BV. She says regular baths with a cup or two of Epsom salts dissolved in the water really help keeping it at bay and preventing infection once it's been treated. The salts don't kill bacteria but they help rebalance pH and supposedly work wonders.

Sunshineface123 · 16/05/2016 21:35

Hope everyone's ok? Hi MrsGSnow. Just considering starting with the OPKs again Tomo (cd6), didn't Ov till cd17 last month tho but thought would be prepared. Tried temping but didn't think it told me much/was a bit of a pain!

MrsMushrooms · 16/05/2016 21:46

Hello, all! Can I join in, please?

I'm 25, TTC#1, lost track of cycles but it's been over 3 years of trying. Had my 3rd MC at the end of March so expecting AF any day now and hoping for some good luck next month!

Sunshineface123 · 16/05/2016 21:53

Wishing you good luck MrsMushrooms sorry to hear about your mc x

GiraffesCantDoMentalArithmetic · 16/05/2016 22:46

Hi. AF got me today after a really weird cycle. I charted temps and OPKS for several months before TTC and everything was quite predictable. The last two cycles have been really odd though. I'm convinced my eggs are shrivelling Sad

Baby my FW starts on Thursday. My DH is struggling with work stress at the moment which kills his libido Sad

TBH I don't think this is going to be the one - we are going away on Saturday with my parents and Sunday is my OV day. The place we are going has rather thin walls and the thought of DTD with my parents within hearing distance isn't exactly a turn-on!

I am going to try Dtd on Saturday morning before we go and fingers crossed that might be enough!

Barefootcontessa84 · 17/05/2016 08:57

Poor you everdene! Im sure a day or so before OV will give you a good chance - bottle of wine with the DH on Friday eve to celebrate the end of the week....? That might help!

OP posts:
GinandJazzHands · 17/05/2016 10:16

Hi everyone, CD15 here, no sign of OV so just checking in. everdene it's easier said than done but try not to worry too much, you may still have a good chance fri/sat as barefoot says. Some people find they get lucky in the cycles with hardly any DTD so you never know. Fx for you.

GinandJazzHands · 17/05/2016 10:18

Hi mrsm wow that sounds like such along journey. Sorry you have had such an awful time Flowers

MrsMushrooms · 17/05/2016 12:08

Thanks, gin & sunshine! It's horrible but I'm feeling more optimistic than ever before as 3 MCs in a row now 'qualifies' me for some investigation and I'm finally feeling like my healthcare providers are taking it seriously. The last pregnancy felt as though it would inevitably fail after the previous two, but it wasn't considered high risk so I had no extra monitoring. The next one will be better, and just the fact we've been able to conceive twice in the last 13 months is a big step forward from where we were - so I'm being confident!

Bad timing, everdene, but I agree that DTD the day before ovulation still sounds like you'll be in with a shot!

It's going to be our first month of trying. DH is convinced it will happen straight away (he clearly thinks he has super sperm Hmm) but I'm still breastfeeding dd still so not sure if that will affect things. Fingers crossed!
