TTC following an ectopic pregnancy

Hi, My DH and I have been TTC for the last 8 months and finally found out I was pregnant before christmas. Since then I have been in hospital and have been treated for an ectopic pregnancy. I was given a hefty dose of Methotrexate which has made me feel rotten and should induce a miscarriage soon. We can't start TTC for 3 months now which is really hard to take as it took us a while the first time - but everything will have to be on hold until the summer now. Has anyone experienced this?

Yes I've got on Friday 13th April (lets hope thats not an omen) There's always something to worry about... I'm so worried about the pain now and don't know if this is normal. How are you today?

Hi Girls, sorry to hear about the hsg's being so painful.

Haven't been able to log on to MN this wk since my last post. It's funny, I think I had delayed shock as I was doing quite well until Thurs and now I just can't keep the tears back. Having said that, I am feeling much better today after speaking to a few RL friends. I don't get the chance to get on MN that often but will keep dipping in and out of this thread. Talk to you soon. xx

lissielou · 19/03/2007 07:00

cedar12 · 19/03/2007 12:45

Lissie just reading your other thread about appiontment. I really wish you load of luck. I think lap and dye would be the way to go so they can get a really good look and may be open your tube up a bit. Is some one going with you? At one of my appointments I got so upset and didnt come out any the wiser so good idea to have someone with you. If Dh cant go have you got a good friend or family near by who could come with you?
Make sure you make a big list of questions to grill with.

Sparkley that such great news so pleased for you. Its a lovely feeling seeing that little heart beat isnt it
Pe glad you are feeling better tried to phone the fertility nurse again today still no results.
I have got really bad pains and cramps this afternoon ? ovulation pains but a bit confused cd14 today. Started using online charting for temp and using ovulation tests. Temps been a bit up and down - ovulation tests friday(one line) and saturday(2 lines 1 faint) then on sunday 2 lines but test line not quite as dark as reference line so I thought this meant -. Tested again today just the reference line and now have the pains. So not sure if it is ovulation pain or not. Does anyone now how much temps should go up by and when? will it be tomorrow if I ovulated today. Sorry to go on a bit it all I hate those ovulation tests I thought both line should be the same or darker than the reference line.

lissielou · 19/03/2007 16:27

im guessing that you ov'd at some point yesterday. not too sur on temps etc, sorry!

cedar12 · 19/03/2007 16:38

Even if the line wasnt as dark as reference line?

lissielou · 19/03/2007 16:56

i presume so, not an expert tho, sorry!

cedar12 · 19/03/2007 17:26

Thanks lissie

PinkElephant · 19/03/2007 18:25

Oh Cedar - poor you. I have absolutely no idea about temping etc I'm afraid

OP posts:
99redballoons · 20/03/2007 10:39

Great news SGK !!

Cedar, I think you're about to ovulate when the line is darkest to when it then disappears. But not 100% sure. I must admit I find charting my CM is most accurate for me, sometimes with the OTK but not always. Got pg last two times just with CM charting. These links are quite informative. HTH.

link 1
link 2
link 3 - "A positive result on an ovulation test means that the woman will most likely become fertile over the next three days - with peak fertility at 36 hours following the LH surge."

99redballoons · 20/03/2007 10:41

Also taken from link 3 -
"A positive result (indicating an LH Surge) is indicated by a test band that is of equal or greater intensity (equal or darker) than the control band. A negative result for the LH Surge is indicated when the test band is of lesser intensity (lighter) than the control band or cannot be seen. A negative result means the LH level of the urine sample is at or near its normal level and that the LH surge is not in progress. Remember, there is always some quantity of LH in your system, so a light color band in the test region is NOT an indicator of a positive result."

PinkElephant · 20/03/2007 11:43

I used to get so confuse with OTK - found the only ones which were any good were First Response
How are you 99?

OP posts:
cedar12 · 20/03/2007 12:44

Thanks 99rb I am pretty sure I ovulated yesterday. I not very good a taking temps at the same time(it can be any where between 6-7am) dd either wakes me up at different times or I wake up needing a wee.
But going by the pain and cm fluid I am sure it was yesterday.

lissielou · 21/03/2007 09:14

well, wish me luck for today ladies! got my list of q's...and am crapping myself

lulumama · 21/03/2007 09:19
