SMEP plan this month ?

Hi all,
Me and dh have decided to do the famous SMEP plan this month ! Anyone else attempting it ?
We were supposed to do it last month but life got in the way :)
A few stats age 27 ttc#1 cycle 2
Currently on cd3 starting the smep is plan on cd8

I think i ll try to hold my pee in :p and try when i get home today but i felt a strong pull from left pelvic last night ao i think i might have ovulated already ehich would mean there will be no lh surge (i think )
Oh well all i can do is dtd and pray the little swimmers meet the egg :)

That's exactly how opks make me feel too fiddle - like I actually have some control in this lottery! Being able to see your body produce the right hormones if so reassuring.

nicky yes it's kind of doing it justice - so you know you've done everything you can. That's kind of how I feel this month. Got my proper positive OPK yesterday so am likely ovulating today and we are DTD daily at the moment. The rest is up to Mother Nature!

Thanks nicki, my fertility friend app does say that you can get ewcm at other times in your cycle. I'm hoping I'm gearing up to ovulate. CD 11 today so hoping I haven't missed it. My sil freaked me out when she said her over moved from day 14 to day 8 after she'd had her dd. I really hope I get a smiley face in the next few days. Need to ramp up dtd as we've only managed it once so far.

Cd14 for me and still no smiley face on the OPK, hoping for a quickie before the rugby as we're out tonight so I need to get ready after that

I'm so confused. No smiley face on CB opk but quite a strong line on cheapie opk. It's not quite as strong as the control line but it's close.

Still an empty circle for me, testing twice a day now (CD15), dtd this morning but I'm getting increasingly worried I'm not even going to ov given AF is due in 12 days!

How about any other symptoms of ovulation fiddle ? Any ewcm or ovulation pains ?

No other signs Nicky whereas last month I remember the sharp ov pains distinctively, so strange!

Did an OPK this morning though and whilst it's still an empty circle I think the second blue line is starting to get a little darker, still lighter than the test but I'm hoping the smiley will come tomorrow! On the positive note, at least all this faf shortens the TWW considerably, CD16 for me and only 11 days until AF!

Fiddle Thats how my line was on 12 and i got my peak on the 13 ! I am sure you ll get the smiley face tomorrow .

Dtd on 8th 10th 12th positive opk on cd13 dtd 13 15 16 17 so didnt std on the 14which i think is my ovulation date
Somehow i am not feeling it this month
However i was sure i was pg last month lol !

CD17 for me today, still no smiley face wondering if somehow I missed it. I'm not sure how that could have happened but it's left me worried I haven't ov'd and my DH convinced the tests are a pile of shit! It's CB digital so I doubt the latter but I might try a different OPK next month if anyone can recommend any?

Anyway, dtd again last night so we did days 6,7,9,12,15&16.

AF is due on the 25th so we'll soon see!

Is it possible u ovulated early ? When did you start with opks ?
I would continue to test . According to smep plan if u dont get a positive opk u should continue to dtd every other day until af ;p
I only used the boots ones and they were ok a bit confusing as i was never sure when it was peak
Also when you use opk make sure ur pee is not diluted you can tell by the colour if its too clear then it mght not pick it up ?

Not long for us to find out then! Like you, I was totally convinced I was pregnant last cycle, this one is an entirely different matter and feeling. I'm sure this is a normal TTC pattern through the cycles but feels crappy to feel like you're already out of the game before it's even testing time. Have you been symptom spotting this month Nicky? Last month I convinced myself I felt implantation and everything

Missing the surge due to too much water could be an issue, I find it really difficult though; all advice is too nail the water and drink a good amount per day. I've always been decent at drinking water so perhaps this has led to my pee being too watery! God knows, I started using FMU plus afternoon (after 4hrs holding it in) but it still could have been too diluted I guess...

I dont have any synptoms at all i think iam 4dpp tdy although like you said i was sure i had synptoms last time :p . Promised myself i wont test until af is late but somehow i just dont feel as positive this month !

Hi all, just wanted to give you an update. I'm now 10 days late, was convinced that my cycle was just really messed up after 4 negative tests, but got a BFP this morning, and a stronger one tonight! I can't quite believe it . It seems that SMEP worked for me.

I think i am 7dpo tdy waiting for af next friday !

I'm not sure how many dpo I am, although Ovia suggests 7 and AF is due on Friday too! I'm absolutely convinced there's a BFN on its way to me though, DH and I were lax in dtd towards the middle/end so we've had a heart to heart to commit to every other day next cycle. I'm also going to try temping alongside to convince us both that I do actually ovulate!

Hi all, can I join? I've been following this thread and trying to SMEP each cycle (on #7 now!) but not quite getting it right due to one reason or another. Still managing lots of DTD round fertile time though, so always gutted when AF arrives

So this month I'm trying it properly - and DH has promised he'll try harder after seeing me so upset at AF last month - bit like you and your DH, fiddle.

However... Best laid plans and all that... we DTD CD8, 10, 12, then I got my pos OPK on 13 but made the executive decision NOT to DTD as I was going away over night CD 14.
Therefore if we'd done it on night of +OPK, I wouldn't have been able to do it again til cd15, and I usually ov on 14.

So I though it best to leave it cd13 and do it in the morning of cd14 before I went away. As it is, that was only 12 hours after my +OPK, as I tested late in the day, and even then it was only after the full 10 mins I realised it was +

FF has put my ov date as cd 14 - despite no temping?! So that means we DTD on morning of ovulation, plus 2 days before. We'll DTD cd 15 & 16, then 18 maybe? Then I've kind of followed the SMEP, just maybe 12 hours out...

Oh god. Just reading that back, I'm full on crazy still, aren't I? I said this cycle I'd stop the craziness and stopped temping and everything!

9dpo hre and no symproms whatsoever so i am realky waiting for af this month !
Due on good froday . I not going to test until saturday however if af doesnt show like always on the dot .

Every month I'm convinced I'm out - have symptoms/don't have symptoms - and every time I'm devastated when AF comes... Madness!
FF says AF due on 31st, but in reality I should get it on the 29th - I have 24 day cycles. So apparently I'm 1dpo. Having acupuncture/Chinese herbs, abstaining completely from alcohol and caffeine (apart from chocolate!) trying to put on weight... Throwing everything at it this month!!!

Well I'm with 8, 9 or 11dpo depending which bloody app you go by. All agree though that AF is due this Friday so we'll soon see, I'm not bothered about early testing this month like I was last month, like Nicky I'm also just going to wait until Saturday if AF hasn't arrived.

Not feeling overly positive, got a bit of a sore throat but that's probably more likely to do with Saturday night with the girls, and a bit of a tummy twinge but that's probably just my body getting ready for AF.

I started temping today, obviously nothing of any great insight yet with nothing to compare it to pre-ov but a starting point and reference for next cycle nonetheless.
