Thread 10 ttc#1 The one where we're all really bored of hormones, the tww and cervical mucus or Why is my eggo not preggo!?

Symptom spotters, tww - ers, slightly hysterical hormone laden ladies! Regs, lurkers, intermittent posters! Our raison d'etre is 'am I pregnant?' Depending on how much Ovia (Whybird/Ovibitch) has pissed us off/messed with our fw she is either the oracle or a sanctimonious charlatan.

Just a warning, we move FAST! Our threads last on average, about a week before they're full.

Thread 10, Welcome one and all! Group of weirdos, wee hoarders, covert opk or okp, depending on what your autocorrect decides addicts with a side business in CM management!

We do not judge, we enjoy TMI, we i encourage waiting to poas nobody listens and all the grossness you can find from a group of intelligent, articulate ladies. Fart stories make us laugh, stories about cervical mucus, pooing, cysts and nausea equally welcome.

Post your stats and add your dates. We have a register thanks to kat, I have been dubbed the resident piss stick queen loaaaaaads of bfp'ers who keep us positive! We don't have rules, we love a good symptom spot, we try to stay grounded and not be hysterical sometimes we manage it aswell

We like acronyms, we make some up: PET = Proper expensive test. We love the d(h)...which can of course mean 'dearest' or 'dickhead' why, what were you thinking?

Lara I am terrified of this episiotomy business too.

Ni4444 · 09/02/2016 09:00

Golden congratulations!!!! 🎊 And thank you for your post! I'm just heading into cycle 5 so that is just the dose of positive I needed!! 😉

Yvonne1986 · 09/02/2016 09:19

Congratulation Golden thanks for sharing I stress about lots of people getting a BFP in cycle 1 or 2 (which i didn't Sad) so it's so great to hear of a BFP in cycle 5 xxx

Ni4444 · 09/02/2016 09:31

Kat can you put me down for testing on March 6th please?

goldenpineapple · 09/02/2016 09:36

Thank you all! I'm glad its a positive story for others - I know it can start to feel a bit hopeless after a few cycles - and I was worried that I was so anxious about it it would affect my chances. Now on to a whole load of new anxieties! Hope you all get your BFPs very soon :)

Midwife clears up all the mess at a homebirth. We don't leave until we make sure the house is in the same state it was when we first arrived (and mum and baby are all ok of course). Plastic sheeting is what you need!

I want a homebirth, simply because being in my own surroundings will make me feel more comfortable, I love the thought of being able to snuggle down in my own bed after with my baby and DH, not have to wait about to be discharged home. I have several colleagues in mind who I would ask to be my midwives.

Latest evidence is that homebirth is just as safe for 2nd time mums (who've previously had a low risk birth) as hospital. First time mums, evidence suggests that mlu is the better option.

Whilst our mlu is beautiful and looks like a hotel, I personally would still feel more relaxed at home. And the more relaxed you are, the increased likelyhood of a normal labour and birth. I always tell my women who are considering a homebirth to really think about where they would feel safest and most relaxed. If they aren't sure, then I normally suggest that an mlu might be the better option.
I'm not silly though, any pregnancy complications or any signs of of anything going pearshaped, then I would be straight in. Id also trust my colleagues to say 'Pug, this isn't going to happen at home' and I would listen and take their advice.

This is all very hypothetical until the bfp comes along though!

Feefeefs · 09/02/2016 10:34

It's getting better elle thanks for asking. GP prescribed amiltryptiline at night which it really helping. Hoping I can stop the co-codamol now as pain more manageable.

Feefeefs · 09/02/2016 10:35

Also I think I would prefer a hospital birth. My mum had to have c-sections with the three of us so a bit worried that will be my fate too!

FXSkip · 09/02/2016 10:41

Congratulations Pineapple!! Thats great news, and glad also that you took some comfort from our crazy ramblings!!

Miley I knew you'd get the shits. I am dreading it, seriously makes me want to take the pill again, I've got cold sweat about it.

Assuming that I get over my fear of diarrhea and assuming I get a BFP, and have a healthy pregnancy, I want to be squatting for sure, possibly water birth. Lying down on a hospital bed seems so unnatural to me. I was blubbering like a little girl hearing about a syrian woman who gave birth in a tent recently. #weepytits

Mileymoocow · 09/02/2016 10:45

I'm a big wuss and my OH is terrible with worrying when I have a cold never mind an actual human baby so we're going to the maternity suite at the brand new hospital 15 mins away. I'm excited to give birth at the minute...give me 6 more months though. You get your own room and only 2 people share a bathroom if the ward is full otherwise you get your own. Plus you can fetch your own bedding etc if you like so that's a nice touch.

Congratulations golden! How lovely Grin I have terrible anxiety, too. I'm trying to just take each day as it comes and not think too far ahead at the moment.

Mileymoocow · 09/02/2016 10:48

Also come over to the grads thread! Smile sorry for stepping on toes again

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/2558300-thread-2-ttc-1-grads-sick-bags-at-the-ready?pg=17&order=

skip I think I'm the only one that's suffering it so far. I have a very poncey sensitive stomach so anything sets me off.

FXSkip · 09/02/2016 10:49

Also sorry to hear about your near-shart experience Miley, my own phobia overrode my sympathy in my last post!!

SuchaJem · 09/02/2016 11:40

I feel sick I feel sick I feel sick!!!

Could it be the nutella banana pancake I just ate Hmm

Snowdog37 · 09/02/2016 12:10

7dpo here and my boobs have turned into gigantor-norks overnight. Pretty sure it's just the progest cream but dh certainly did a double take Grin. I'm already amply endowed so this progest cream clearly works! Also lots of creamy/watery cm which again is the progest according to Google. It's reassuring actually to have it give such clear effects as it must mean my hormone receptors or whatever the medical term is are working. I don't think I had this much cm last month and I didn't do the cream last month.
Anyhow I'm supposed to be working so I'll catch up with the thread later 😊 Hugs and 🍰 To all!

Planeteer · 09/02/2016 12:26

celizabe · 09/02/2016 12:31

Congratulations Planeteer, that's fantastic news!!

Was just popping on to see if any of you girls thought super honker spots on chin were a good BFP sign or probably just AF on the way ... I'm due for testing on the 18th- fx!!

FXSkip · 09/02/2016 12:36

Congratulations Planeteer - so exciting!!!!! Snow have you been prescribed the prog cream? sorry if missed that elsewhere.

Celizabe either I'm afraid, but log it (if you are using FF or Ovia or something) so you can keep track!

Yvonne1986 · 09/02/2016 12:38

Congrats Planeteer that's such great news especially as you were so sure it would be a BFN!!!! Grin

SuchaJem · 09/02/2016 12:38

Amazing! Congrats planet. What cd are you? I think your cycle is quite close to mine - I'm on day 15

Planeteer · 09/02/2016 12:41

Thanks guys. Oh god, I'm on cd76, such haha. Was about to be referred for pcos scans given crazy long cycles.

Getting 3+ weeks is totally unexpected. I thought at the outside it would be a real squinter! Don't know how upduffed I actually am. Oops!

StarkyTheDirewolf · 09/02/2016 12:48
