Symptom spotters, tww - ers, slightly hysterical hormone laden ladies! Regs, lurkers, intermittent posters! Our raison d'etre is 'am I pregnant?' Depending on how much Ovia (Whybird/Ovibitch) has pissed us off/messed with our fw she is either the oracle or a sanctimonious charlatan.

Just a warning, we move FAST! Our threads last on average, about a week before they're full.

Thread 10, Welcome one and all! Group of weirdos, wee hoarders, covert opk or okp, depending on what your autocorrect decides addicts with a side business in CM management!

We do not judge, we enjoy TMI, we i encourage waiting to poas nobody listens and all the grossness you can find from a group of intelligent, articulate ladies. Fart stories make us laugh, stories about cervical mucus, pooing, cysts and nausea equally welcome.

Post your stats and add your dates. We have a register thanks to kat, I have been dubbed the resident piss stick queen loaaaaaads of bfp'ers who keep us positive! We don't have rules, we love a good symptom spot, we try to stay grounded and not be hysterical sometimes we manage it aswell

We like acronyms, we make some up: PET = Proper expensive test. We love the d(h)...which can of course mean 'dearest' or 'dickhead' why, what were you thinking?

Dh is getting on my nerves.

He won't sit still and keeps talking over every programme we out on so has no idea what's going on, so asks me and then gets miffed when I say "I haven't got a clue, you've never shut up!"

He's twatting about with his new torch, making "a quick bit of food" and has asked me for the 15th time if I want a cup of tea, I don't! I just want him to sit down and chill out!

And keeps asking if I'm all right because "you're not yourself" ...how would he know?! He's not sat still in the same room as me for more than four minutes since he got back from the gym!!

You're all lovely. My sil is being much more positive than I am right now but she's known for a little while so I think it's just the shock for me. It should be fixable with surgery and I know babies are very hardy. She's just so tiny and dependent right now the thought of her going through surgery makes me feel all weepy Sad Hoping to wake up tomorrow with a much more positive outlook.

starky I'm going to attempt to give up the booze for lent too. If I get a bfn in 2 weeks I will probably fall off the wagon and treat myself to a pint glass of vino. But if I have the most ginormous wave of luck and get a bfp I have an excuse for not drinking. Sorted!

KatOnATinRo0f · 08/02/2016 23:35

List!!! I think I've made all the correct adjustments to the list.
Thanks all for support as always... I know in the big scheme of things it's nothing and I'm actually feeling a bit better now. Onwards and upwards for the March bus... Hurrah!!! Seriously though, when should I start getting worried about not getting upduffed?

ThanksThanks for your baby niece moggy ThanksThanks

KatOnATinRo0f · 08/02/2016 23:37

Stark maybe he's sending that you are upduffed (much like he can sense you ovulating)

StarkyTheDirewolf · 08/02/2016 23:38

moggy I've cracked, I just opened the prosecco! Dh was doing my head in! He agreed to have one too so hopefully he'll sit down and shut the fuck up chill out while drinking it!

It's awful, such a tiny little thing, it must be a massive shock. My nephew was poorly just after he was born and I was bereft! Trust in the doctors and hopefully all will be made right. Poor little mite though. Flowers

My dm tells me when I was first born I started sick in up blood, cue a+e, baby dependency unit, they couldnt work out what was wrong with me...until an experienced midwife checked dm over, discovered she hd shocking mastitis and I was essentially suckling the blood from her nips!

Kwick - good point... The book suggests different things for different points in your cycle. Raspberry leaf is good in the lead up to ovulation for preparing the uterus. I won't be taking it after ovulation. After ovulation a good tea to have is camomile for its calming effects. I will look up for egg quality and let you know :)

Holly300 · 09/02/2016 00:05

Suchajem - I use a disposable plastic cup.

Holly300 · 09/02/2016 00:06

Sorry about AF Kat. Fx for next cycle Thanks

Holly300 · 09/02/2016 00:08

Moggy sorry to hear about your niece :( sending lots of well wishes for her. Hope you're ok Thanks

Holly300 · 09/02/2016 00:10

Elle I like a savoury pancake too :) cheese and tomato or cheese and spinach - yum!

Lyssie · 09/02/2016 00:31

Reading everyone's posts after work and I'm literally crying from laughter. :) Oh, dear!

What's everyone doing when we all finally start growing babies in our bellies? Midwife, hospital...squatting in the forest?

StarkyTheDirewolf · 09/02/2016 02:13

Well lyssie in my mind, I want a home birth. Pool, candles, my own midwives, gas and air, hypobirthing etc. But I don't quite know how it works in my area yet. My dm was refused a home birth with both me and dsis, even though she wasn't high risk (in the end she was induced with me and dsis was back to back, so wouldn't have had home births anyway). We're lucky in that we have a fantastic midwife led unit near me. But I don't know. I've got to get as far as actually getting a bfp yet which seems a million miles away

I've had two mango bellinis and I'm happy and chilled now. 10 dpo...Roll on the next week. I've always managed an alcohol free lent but now when af shows up, I think I'll waver/struggle. Expecting it but dreading it as I know I'll be gutted.

I'd love to have a water birth but reckon i'll jump on the epidural so probably end up in hospital plus i have scoliosis so will end up in hospital anyway

Lyssie · 09/02/2016 04:24

Starky
My dm had all 8 of us at home with a midwife. I feel like it would be so weird to have give birth in a hospital, just because of my upbringing.
I hope you get to do what you wish (:

Lyssie · 09/02/2016 04:25

to give* not to have give.... I swear I type everything out right and it send it out wrong :P

LaraG13 · 09/02/2016 08:00

Funny how we're all different! I'd never contemplate a home birth, and expect to have as much pain relief as possible. I'd even look into the option of an elected c section. I have a lot of anxiety about birth and am so scared of damaging my bits for life - I'm terrified of incontinence and prolapse. I know it's a natural process etc. but the thought of many quite ordinary birthing procedures like episiotomy and use of forceps is horrendous. Part of me likes the idea of just having a c section. Then you know where you are and what to expect. All a long way off right now, of course! I watched my nephew being born after a long and difficult labour that included a big episiotomy cut and forceps delivery and I know what my sister has experienced since, so I'm sure that's where the fear comes from.

Feefeefs · 09/02/2016 08:08

elle yes it's the bastard codeine. I can only eat soft diet as can't really chew. It's making fibre intake challenging. Going to get some prune juice later I think, not something I've ever tried!

ElleSarcasmo · 09/02/2016 08:18

Thanks Holly. Cheese and spinach is a great idea, may steal that later!

Maybe banana smoothie with dates or similar Feefs? Miserable isn't it? Spinach always helps me but never tried it as a soup. How is your jaw now?

Lara, I totally feel the same way about birth since my student O+G attachment (terrified!). One reason I've left it a little later, for sure, really wasn't sure before that I would cope (broodiness much stronger now and has eclipsed the fear!).Not sure what the answer is-it's a very personal decision. We are looking to move soon and would be about 30 minutes drive at least from a hospital, but I personally wouldn't consider a home birth anyway.

Laurenowls you can have water births in hospital. Smile

ElleSarcasmo · 09/02/2016 08:19

Lyssie 8 wow! You have got good genes for birth!

SuchaJem · 09/02/2016 08:49

kwick I will be investing in a bigger container! .

Love the idea about adding a positive habit for Lent. Tempted to say I'll exercise daily but have a feeling that might not last long...

moggy sorry about your niece and wishing her a safe successful operation and recovery

elle I left my gu ramekin at work and I think it got binned! I also was thinking about bringing home a plastic cup from the office... I think I've ovulated too now, hoping we have caught it. We didn't DTD every day either, am hoping every other day will have been enough.

Hello TWW Envy

goldenpineapple · 09/02/2016 08:51

Hello, I've been a massive lurker Blush on this thread - I think I posted on the first ever one and then lurked ever since.... partly because I felt like I was a couple of cycles behind (or ahead?!) everyone.... partly because of anxiety.... I hope its not too weird to post now! But its been so helpful and felt like company when Ive felt really crazy with TTC. I just wanted to share that I got my BFP this morning, on cycle 5. TTC1, I'm 31yo. Total squinter on an IC, followed by a really good line on a FRER - I had a dream last night that I did, and then...well, I did! I can't believe it. Its funny because every other month I've had so many 'symptoms' and this month, nothing really - only that my boobs didn't hurt a week before AF was due (they do now!). Anyway, I just wanted to say thank you and good luck to you all Flowers

SuchaJem · 09/02/2016 08:56

Congratulations goldenpinneapple! Wishing you a boring happy 8/9 months ahead

Ni4444 · 09/02/2016 08:56

I think a midwife led unit would be my preference. I saw something on TV recently that said up to 50% of homebirths need to be transferred to hospital during labour (that might just have been for first borns). I couldn't cope with that. Let me be near all the medics and equipment in case anything goes wrong! Have looked up ones in the area....think one or two locally have very bad reviews (one is in special measures!) so ill be doing lots of research and making lots of demands to get the best one I can find!

Stark your and my OH both last night! I'm so exhausted and stressed after the move, the finances, the AF coming once again....I did not have the patience to be diplomatic last night when he kept asking me the same questions then not listening to the answer!! I want a few days off from him, work, everything!! Just me, my cat and the couch! As I can't have that I'm going to make sure I leave work on time every day this week instead!! No long evenings for me! would love to hit the prosecco but know I'd be even more exhausted the next day!

KatOnATinRo0f · 09/02/2016 08:58

I never even considered a home birth either. I want to be near all the doctors and equipment of anything goes wrong plus who clears up all the mess at home???

Congrats golden you weren't behind... I'm on to cycle 7 now. Thanks for you
