Symptom spotters, tww - ers, slightly hysterical hormone laden ladies! Regs, lurkers, intermittent posters! Our raison d'etre is 'am I pregnant?' Depending on how much Ovia (Whybird/Ovibitch) has pissed us off/messed with our fw she is either the oracle or a sanctimonious charlatan.

Just a warning, we move FAST! Our threads last on average, about a week before they're full.

Thread 10, Welcome one and all! Group of weirdos, wee hoarders, covert opk or okp, depending on what your autocorrect decides addicts with a side business in CM management!

We do not judge, we enjoy TMI, we i encourage waiting to poas nobody listens and all the grossness you can find from a group of intelligent, articulate ladies. Fart stories make us laugh, stories about cervical mucus, pooing, cysts and nausea equally welcome.

Post your stats and add your dates. We have a register thanks to kat, I have been dubbed the resident piss stick queen loaaaaaads of bfp'ers who keep us positive! We don't have rules, we love a good symptom spot, we try to stay grounded and not be hysterical sometimes we manage it aswell

We like acronyms, we make some up: PET = Proper expensive test. We love the d(h)...which can of course mean 'dearest' or 'dickhead' why, what were you thinking?

Hey hey. Haven't fully caught up yet but wanted to reply to some things while I remember!

moggy so sorry about your niece. Are you cd9 today then? I think feef, indi and latinata also have similar cycles - how are you guys doing?

Congrats planet!!! Lol that you thought you were cd76!

I am def going midwife led unit if I ever manage to get preg. I think I want a water birth. Definitely not lying flat on my back if I can avoid it!

holly what was the name of the book you recommended? I can't find it in this monster thread!

Ni4444 · 09/02/2016 16:27

Kat Elle, yes the OH went for fertility check as he cycles a lot. NHS waiting list was 2 months so he paid for private...don't know exactly figure...about £75-100 depending on location. Certainly gave us peace of mind. Also got him started on Wellman vitamins just to be sure!

Snowdog37 · 09/02/2016 16:43

Ok all, the progesterone cream was recommended to me by one of my American friends, she's got 2 kids and both were conceived after a few cycles once she started using the cream. I think her progesterone levels were borderline so her dr wouldn't prescribe the suppositories but she was told to try this cream by a company called Emerita. So she did, and the levels went up slightly, but more importantly she felt better hormonally and conceived 3 months after using it from 3dpo to 16dpo (once you get a confirmed bfn you stop using it and af arrives) and if she got a bfp she used it twice a day until 12 weeks. It's really helped her she says, so I asked my dr who said it can't hurt. So I got her to send me a couple of the boxes of pre measured sachets and here we are. I definitely feel less frantic and stressy. It does accentuate your pre af symptoms a little but it also helps your temps stabilize a little higher to provide a nice cozy womb for implantation too. I'm trying it as I'm getting on a bit and it worked for her after a couple months. It might be snake oil but honestly I do feel a little better on it so it does seem to help me hormonally.

Congratulations golden and planet!!!

Just popped on to see if any of our girls have been lucky and lo and behold! Another 2 upduffed. Amazing news.

Not much to report here. Feeling quite calm and trying to ignore a niggly feeling in the back of my head that it's worked this month. Way too early to tell of course and I'm not tempting fate by letting myself think it's the month lol.

I seem to be getting more casual about it as each month goes by. This is cycle 3 now. Almost like the pressures off now to get pregnant quick and now I'm just in for the slow and steady long haul, which is ok. Anyone else like that or am I weird?!

firstgo1984 · 09/02/2016 16:59

A little update for you all. I am pretty convinced that sunday's cramps were ovulation as i sneakily scanned my ovaries at work and think i have a corpus luteum on the side that the cramps were mostly on.

So I am sticking with 21st as test date.

StarkyTheDirewolf · 09/02/2016 17:18

I'm having one of those days. The visit to the vet has completely thrown my nerves off, I can't for the life of me sit still!

I know what you mean jam it's almost like the pressure hasensor lifted slightly, I felt like that once I'd hot cycle 1 out of the way. Unfortunately now, as I get closer to the end of cycle 2, I fear I'm decending into madness!

My boobs have stopped hurting so much but I have no other symptoms at all. I had some sharp pains for a couple of days which felt like they were in the same place. But I'm sure I'm imagining it now.

Thanks all. OH apparently had his sperm checked a few years ago and they were excellent but it might be worth getting checked again. They won't do anything at the doctors as I'm only 28 and probably even a private doctor would say "keep trying"... But where is this arbitrary point where you've been trying enough? If there's something wrong, it's wrong now. Waiting another 5 cycles or 2 years won't make any difference?
I'm healthy, I have no diseases or allergies or intolerances or anything I know about. I've never been seriously ill. I'm under 30. I'm not over or under weight, I keep relatively fit, I hardly drink, I don't smoke, I eat pretty healthy most of the time.... (DH is pretty much the same but he's 10 years older) ... I've been doing OPKs and dtd throughout fertile week. I just thought it would have happened by now. Especially when people are popping up with cycles 1-3 upuffedness, I'm so happy for everyone but I'm wondering if I need a different bus?
I will allow myself to mope until AF buggers off because then I suddenly have to start being sexy again. Blush (that is me with blusher on)

KatOnATinRo0f · 09/02/2016 17:20

First ..... Wtf??? Are you a sonographer? That's cool. I can sneakily floss. Not so cool.

Ni4444 · 09/02/2016 17:27

Kat I hear you. After the move I'm so pissy and cranky that the last thing I want to do is dtd! I'm CD5 so figure I have another week to be mopey/non sexy! Some moments I think "let's just chill and when it happens, it happens" jamjaresque and then I think "it just bloody has to happen this month I'm so sick of waiting!!!"

Even my holiday next month isnt having the usual exciting effect cos I'll be seeing my Mom and I want to have BFP news for her!

First your job has some bloody cool perks! I want to scan my ovaries!!

StarkyTheDirewolf · 09/02/2016 17:33

I'm the same kat Ive been wondering for years if there's something going on that I don't know about inside my nethers. When I last enquired about it at the doctors they told me there was very little they'd do until we'd been actively ttc for 12 months minimum. And they won't consider testing Dh until he stops competing as the assumption is that bodybuilders take steroids and that his extreme diet/training would have a negative effect on sperm quality.

I'm driving myself insane today.
kat you look lovely with blusher on 😉

Poor Coco hope she’s okay starky. Our Max has been under the weather with a virus this week, it’s awful seeing them unwell.

Sorry you are feeling low kat. I’m only on cycle 2 and already feel impatient. I already feel like it’s taken over my brain too. I don’t seem to be capable of thinking in any great depth about anything else at the moment.

firstgo excellent work with your sneaky work ovary scan!

A few things I’m noticing which are unusual for me. Wide awake during the night last night despite being really tired, and felt like my heart rate was too high. Reduced appetite and slight headache all day today. Very windy and more CM. Feeling quite low, more anxious and also slightly paraniod about people today! Nothing on the boob front at all though.

MeadowHay · 09/02/2016 17:36

Hello, could I pop in and ask a quick question? My OPKs have just arrived today, I saw on Fertility Friend that it's best not to do them first thing in the morning, but other than that does it matter what time of day I do them? Are evenings ok as long as I do it at roughly the same time each evening?

Me and DH been ttc our first. However I think I have fertility problems to be honest because I have crazy heavy periods and 14/15 day cycles :/ Not sure if I am ovulating but thought the OPKs could at least answer that question for me.

StarkyTheDirewolf · 09/02/2016 17:41

Welcome meadow lh is produced in your body during the day, so I always aim to do mine between 12-2 pm. It's also best to do them with a few hours hold on your urine. So fmu, them smu then wait a few hours until doing opk so you get the most accurate result. If you're doing them early evening at around the same time then you should be ok. Ops will definitely give you more of an idea of when you're ovulating.

It's a perk for sure. I sm on o&g doctor. Doesn't stop me getting crazy post-pill cycles where i have no idea what is going on and going mad with the rest of you!

KatOnATinRo0f · 09/02/2016 18:01

Sad I only have these rubbish ones Sad

KatOnATinRo0f · 09/02/2016 18:02

Ahh first I wanted to ask u something the other day when u weren't here I couldn't remember who our o&g was and now I forgot the question ha!

MeadowHay · 09/02/2016 18:13

Thanks Starky, would around 9pm be too late though? I'm really busy on weekdays in the daytimes with uni and I really don't want to test out of the house Blush. My timetable is pretty full most days and I know I have to test at the same time each day.

Just waiting for DH to come home from work so I can make dinner. My guinea pigs are munching on a big cob of corn right now for their dinner, they can't have it that often because it's very fattening for them but they looove it.

SuchaJem · 09/02/2016 18:16

Guinea pigs munching corn!

StarkyTheDirewolf · 09/02/2016 18:26

I'd be worried that 9 pm would be too late meadow ad lh synthesises in your body during the day. So a surge in the morning which would be present in your urine mid afternoon may not show up on an opk in the evening. However, if you have short cycles I'd be inclined to take two/three a day from the day after you finish af and throughout unil you have a better understanding of your fertile window/luteal phase. Otherwise it can get really confusing!

I'm having fried chicken salad again for tea Grin 🍗

Right, DH not back from work yet... Hungry so planning dinner. I have two choices - salmon, broccoli and salad, or pancakes. Lol

iPatches · 09/02/2016 18:31

Meadow - I rarely tested before 7pm (usually nearer 8pm) last month and had no problems with OPK - ovulation showed up just fine. Don't worry about it. Not sure I would bother again testing this month if I hadn't just had a loss because I just wanted to know that I was ovulating, not necessarily when (because as long as you are DTD during weeks 2-3 after your period, you'll almost certainly hit your O-Day). I will be using the OPK again this month though as not sure what's going on.

AliceScarlett · 09/02/2016 18:33

DH wasn't really up for dtd and didn't... Finish. He said preseed makes it too "medicalised" and he can see how it could turn into a chore. I'm having irrational thoughts that I'm out this month, its going to be a hassle from now on and we are never going to time it right Angry But I know logically that 2 days not dtd in the FW isn't the end of the world.

This TTC lark is a struggle, I tip my hat to those who have been doing it for a while, how you feel is very valid.

Moggysinger · 09/02/2016 18:37

Errrk that AIBU story is horrific! Sad

Harriet I'm cd10 so just 1 day ahead. Glad there's a few of us on similar cycles! Ovia says fw starts on Sunday but ff says Thursday Hmm
We're just going it for every other day this month to be on the safe side! Blush What's your strategy this month!? Grin

planteer YES!!!!! Massive congrats on your bfp!!!!!
