Ah Sunshine, so sorry to hear this, you are always so positive on here so you're definitely allowed to feel a bit down for a change. Sounds like you've had a totally rubbish day, hope you have some nice treats in for this evening.CakeChocolate I would definitely push your Dr for an earlier appt esp considering the pain you're in when AF does arrive.

Friendly, sorry to hear you got AF too. Sad

This is all so totally sh*t and unfair x

Sunshinegirl2015 · 20/01/2016 18:12

Thanks sunshine. Have felt tearful all day and cried earlier too so hormones must be mental.

Also have seen THREE pregnancy announcements on Facebook this week. I'm happy for them of course and I have no idea how long they tried or if it was unplanned but either way I think that's added to me feeling down. My neighbour is due next week plus I have two friends due in the next two weeks. Surrounded by bubs lol. Everyone keeps asking when we're going to have kids and normally I say all the normal excuses but this week I think because we've now been trying for over a year it's been harder.

I'll be back to my positive self tomorrow I'm sure.

Funny how we're all in sync with AF!

mascaraisamust · 20/01/2016 18:16

Ladies so sorry for AFs, hugs all round. Feel annoyed for you. Glad to hear your are mostly still having tests done though and seem to be moving in the right direction on the nhs, it's just the wait.

I agree with sunshine12, sunshine15 put your foot down and get them to refer sooner, you AF should not make you feel so rubbish.

Had a bit of brown spotting today Confused just when you think all is settling, weaning myself off these pessaries too so goodness knows. Doesn't seem to be anything else though and not had any since, so fingers crossed all is ok. Haven't got a scan for another two weeks yet so not a right lot I can do.

OrianaBanana · 20/01/2016 18:18

I'm really sorry sunshine. I can't help really except to say that we are with you in spirit. Fresh start next month!

I am also surrounded by babies - another just born turned up on Facebook yesterday Envy I am happy for them of course but I keep being asked when I'm having another (as if it's anyone's business). Lately I just started saying 'When we can!' which seems to shut them up quicker than saying 'Well we'll see' or some other such.

I'm also doing Slimming World and sucking pretty badly at that too. Something must go right soon! Hang in there people Grin

sunshinegirl12 · 20/01/2016 18:27

Mascara, nice to hear from you, how is your little bump coming on? Is your next scan to find out the sex?

We haven't had a BFP on here for a while so hopefully now we are all pretty much in sync we will all get lucky x

Sunshinegirl2015 · 20/01/2016 18:33

Thanks for support. I know I'm not alone but I think when you can't just talk to people you know about fertility and TTC it can feel a little lonely.

Mascara hope you are ok!

Oriana I've always struggled with diets but for me I've always naturally been underweight so trying to put wait on by eating healthy and still getting some excercise in can be hard but since ttc I've managed to keep an ideal BMI. My MIL does slimming world though and some of the food is delicious! Good luck!

mascaraisamust · 20/01/2016 19:02

Two weeks on Saturday is the gender scan, then another four weeks before the 20 week scan. Messaged the midwife about the spotting but I doubt she'll do anything. I have a little low bump, looks like I have a belly more than a bump though Hmm

mascaraisamust · 20/01/2016 19:07

I lost quite a bit on slimming world before I got married. I enjoy the recipes, still cook lots of the recipes now and a lot of the principles have stuck like low fat Greek yogurt mixed in with pasta instead of cream!

My face recipe: cook pasta with a veg stock cube, meanwhile fry bacon (fat cut off), mushrooms, onions. Drain the pasta when ready and add in the bacon, mushrooms and onions with a good dollop of Greek yoghurt, give it a mix (season) and pop in the oven with low fat cheese on top. Delish, DHs fave pasta. And so quick and easy!

sunshinegirl12 · 20/01/2016 20:10

Sunshine, I need some help then with the gaining weight!! Since reading that my BMI must be atleast 20 to be able to get IVF and other fertility treatments, I've been really focusing on what I eat, trying to eat an extra 500 calories a day which is harder than it sounds!

Hope you hear back from your midwife Mascara, even if just for some reassurance x

Midwife just text me back saying to call the doctors to book in for my 16 week appointment and didn't acknowledge it. Well it was only very little and seems to not have appeared since so I'll try not to stress. Thanks all x

Friendlycav · 21/01/2016 09:46

My Chinese herbs arrived and they look like salt/pepper/soup granules! I'm currently having a spoonful with hot water and it tastes like a smoky herbal tea.

For those talk about diet, I found a book called Total Fertility by Emma Cannon helpful. She talks about good fertility foods and specific foods you should eat at certain times of your cycle. If nothing else, it's inspired me to eat things that I wouldn't normally go for such as aubergine, sesame seeds, pistachios etc.

I've booked DH in for a SA. Appt is in mid Feb, feels like I'm making some positive steps by getting all these tests done.

sunshinegirl12 · 21/01/2016 10:04

Mascara, glad to hear everything seems to be ok now.

Thats good Friendly re the herbs and SA, fx the herbs work for you, I wonder what they actually are.

Mrsunsure, can u remember if the month you got your BFP you were still getting the cramping during your luteal phase, as I always assume I'm out as soon as I feel out. It's so frustrating as it makes it even harder to forget about the 2ww when keep getting cramps wondering whats going on in there. Also, when you were taking agnus castus, did you only take it up til ov or your whole cycle? I'm not quite sure what to do this month x

Sunshinegirl2015 · 21/01/2016 15:55

Mascara glad everything's ok.

Friendly keep us updated on herbs!

Sunshine my old GP if you can believe it told me to eat salty crisps, Mars bars and drink fizzy drinks to help out on weight!!!

I obviously didn't take his advice. I found that eating healthy but maybe eating more often helped. I often have breakfast, brunch or elevensees as I call it, lunch, afternoon snack, dinner haha I can eat a lot. I used to faint a lot from being underweight and having low blood pressure but anyone who knows me knows I can eat anyone under the table haha.

mascaraisamust · 21/01/2016 18:15

Sunshine I had intense cramps before I got my bfp during the LP like AF was definitely coming, they continued when I got my bfp for a few days too.xx

sunshinegirl12 · 21/01/2016 18:45

Sunshine, you would like to think a GP is capable of giving you advice on gaining weight in a healthy way. I have always been underweight despite eating whatever I want, at the moment trying to add in an extra whole milk smoothie with nut butter, oats and dried fruit to up my intake.

Mascara, did you get cramps in a normal cycle as I seem to get them for about a week from about 5dpo every month?

Feeling really worn out with it all today, but have booked my acupuncture appt for when I'm back from holiday, the day after my private fertility appt. So either way I'm going to get some help from someone!

OrianaBanana · 22/01/2016 09:21

Thanks for the tip mascara! I'm a size twelve but my BMI is still in the overweight category so just trying to get down to normal!

Fed up today again, even my nose is bleeding. Angry Newborn twins today on Facebook.

Hoping I can get my day 8 bloods done soon (for whatever reason) and can actually get a face to face appointment with someone for something.

mascaraisamust · 22/01/2016 18:07

No just the month I got my bfp sunshine. Heavy sort of feeling with cramps. When do you go on holiday? The break will do you good. Just go, chill and have a great time, forget about it all! When you come back you've got everything in place. Good for you not putting stuff on hold!

Orianna oh no, sounds like you're a bit rundown Sad look after yourself!

Sunshinegirl2015 · 23/01/2016 12:09

Does anyone know if you're meant to fast before CD 3 bloods testing for FSH?

Had the same mean nurse yesterday that I had Monday who asked what I'd eaten. I said a cereal bar as I'd been up for work since 3am and the hospital opened at 8am and I didn't want to faint. She said it was the worst thing I could've eaten, that it was a waste of time but she'd do the test anyway but that I'd need to get another form from the GP to get it done again.

I was so upset that no one told me to fast (not GP, not the letter I had) I sat in my car and cried. I don't know why but I have cried a lot this week feel very emotional.

Called my GP who later rang me back to say she didn't know why nurse had said that and that I didn't need to fast.

Still over three weeks until I can get results. Why do appointments book up so far in advance!?

sunshinegirl12 · 23/01/2016 12:24

Sunshine, sounds you're having a rubbish time lately. Sad She sounds like a mean old cow. I also wasn't told to fast although I did, but only because it was first thing in the morning and I wasn't sure. Can't you ring up and get the results from reception or ask a GP to call back, and then have your appt to discuss in more detail? At my GPs you can just call up and the receptionist will tell you if everythings ok or if the results show something that you need to speak to a Dr about.

Mascara, this is my last week before hol, can't wait and so glad I'll be there to distract myself from another 2ww. x

Sakura03 · 23/01/2016 13:18

Hi everyone do you mind if I join you? I'm 37 ttc#1, had miscarriage in May 2015 at 6.5 weeks. Dp has recently had a SA which came back normal. I had day 21 bloods and swabs on Tuesday thinking I would have day 1-3 bloods done next week but I had a surprise visit from AF yesterday (which means cycle was 23 days whereas normally it's between 26-28daysConfused). I managed to get an appointment with my surgery and had bloods done. The nurse told me my day 21 results had come back and they are borderline at 12.8 ( or 12.2 I can't remember). She said the should be between 11 and 80. Last year in March they were 31 but then I miscarried so does that mean that 31 isn't that good either? They'll do a repeat but I wonder what can be done if the numbers are still crap? Does anyone know?
sunshinegirl2015 I've never been told to fast before my blood tests but what a horrible experience as you'd expect them to know what they are talking about.

Friendlycav · 23/01/2016 13:46

Sunshinegirl2015 - I really feel for you, you've had a horrid time, how dare she make you so upset. I had my day 2-5 bloods done last week. I haven't heard about any need to fast and also ate beforehand otherwise there would have been a high chance of me fainting. I get my results next week and if I speak to a doctor will ask about fasting beforehand but I'm sure she would have mentioned it if it was a requirement so I really wouldn't worry. The same thing happens at my dr surgery, the receptionist will tell me if everything appears normal otherwise they arrange a telephone appt with a GP. I'm feeling very envious of your holiday.. I'm in a job I really don't enjoy but feel I can't leave because of the maternity benefits. But who knows how far away that could be and feeling stressed in a job is never going to help..

sunshinegirl12 · 23/01/2016 16:00

Welcome Sakura.

Friendly, I totally know what you mean about being in a job you don't enjoy as I feel the same, and am now facing redundancy too just to add to the daily stress of it. Really feeling the need for this holiday and some quality time with DH as everything seems to be taking its toll on us. Feeling very sorry for myself today.Sad
