Sunshine I wasn't told to fast either!

mrsmugoo · 23/01/2016 20:30

I've always been told you have to eat before blood tests so you don't get faint.

mascaraisamust · 24/01/2016 07:43

Mrs how are you? X

mrsmugoo · 24/01/2016 11:00

All fine here, had a healthy 20 week scan last week. Feeling more movement now although it's still light as I've got an anterior placenta.

I actually keep forgetting I'm pregnant! People keep congratulating me and it takes a couple of seconds to realise what for!

OrianaBanana · 24/01/2016 11:41

So sorry guys, it sounds like rough times for a lot of us. I'm still Hmm at your nurse sunshine, I had a similar one who was cross that I couldn't book my day 21 bloods more than a week in advance, I'm sorry but I'm just not that predictable. She also rushed me through and pulled out my blood (had a big bruise) because apparently the man who delivered the blood sometimes came at 4.30 and didn't like to hang about - my appt was at 4.50! Luckily Hmm he wasn't that early that day so it was Ok!

Has anyone tried this book? A friend just recommended it.

Day 8 (well, 9) bloods tomorrow. I thoroughly recommend getting them done at Sainsburys! x

Thanks everyone. Yeah she made me feel like I was a burden.

I asked about getting results on phone but apparently GP wants to see me in person.

No idea why I felt so emotional this week. I've been really clumsy too which is unlike me so must be hormones or something different.

Still had a 9day LP but didn't spot for the first time in ages. Not sure if that's good or not.

Oriana did you have your bloods done at Sainsburys?

OrianaBanana · 24/01/2016 16:35

Yes a phlebotomist comes for two sessions per day, you just pop in with the paperwork and they send it off. The phlebotomist has no idea really what it's for etc so they don't quiz you or cross question you about fasting, you just go with what your GP's said, you don't need to book an appointment, all very quick. x

mascaraisamust · 24/01/2016 16:39

Thats good to hear Mrs Smile a milestone too, halfway there! I've got 13 days until my gender scan. 15 weeks tomorrow Smile

Hugs ladies, hoping for some good news from you all soon. I know it's hard to stay positive but remember you are doing all you can.xx

Hello everyone and welcome Sakura

Sunshine15 I am fuming at that nurse! Sorry you have been having such a rough time recently and I completely agree about hormones being awful things.

Hope everybody else is doing ok. I think AF is due on Wednesday but I am refusing to test or do anything other than pretend nothing is imminent.

Just got a text from the GP saying my LH levels were extremely low (should have been 5 and they were

Friendlycav · 26/01/2016 11:06

Sorry to hear this Oriana, I think it's awful to get a text like that with no explanation. It's easy to say but try not to worry, anything hormone related can be treated and if it's a problem then at least you now know what it is and it can be fixed.

I got my LH (4.5) and FSH (9.4) results yesterday and worried that my FSH level is borderline high. According to the GP, these results are within 'normal' range so now waiting for DH's SA results in mid Feb and think we will then be referred.

I can't stop thinking about getting pregnant, I want it so badly and feels like it's in my thoughts constantly. I really need to try and chill out about it.

mrsmugoo · 26/01/2016 11:07

Don't worry if things like that come up - it means they can be fixed!

It's unexplained infertility that would be the most worrying Thanks

sunshinegirl12 · 26/01/2016 11:36

Oriana, this must be a worry for you but as mentioned by the other ladies, hormone issues can be easily fixed. My GP hasn't even put me in for that test, I was only told to have the basic day 3 and 21 bloods.

I can't remember if I have already said this, but we eventually heard back from the GPs secretary that before our fertility referral I need an ultrasound, for which the appt was sent off early Dec. She chased it up and the appt for that should be in the next 4-6 weeks, by which point I will then need to go back in to the surgery to have my STI tests repeated before my referral can be sent off, as its only valid 3 months. So bloody glad I've got my private appt booked, think I'm going to give up on the NHS for now as not getting anywhere.

Friendly, I'm totally with you, I want it so badly too, as soon as I'm back from hol I'm going to focus on getting it sorted, either with private help or acupuncture, I'm sick of wasting time waiting.

FuzzyOwl · 26/01/2016 13:14

Sorry to hear that Oriana and I really think your GP should have called you in for an appointment. Hopefully though medication can help and I completely agree that unexplained fertility can be more of an issue. How soon can you get an appointment?

I hope the referrals go through quickly for you Friendly and Sunshine.

I think AF is due tomorrow and I don't have any pregnancy signs, so expecting CD1 of cycle 6 tomorrow. Do you think it is worth making an appointment to see the doctor once it has been six months of trying as I am in my late thirties?

OrianaBanana · 26/01/2016 13:19

Sorry to hear you're worried too friendlycav and sunshine it is so hard, and wearing, to be 'in the system' and going round and round with blood tests and things, making appointments, having to wait. Fingers crossed that we all get whatever needs sorting (if anything) sorted and get our BFPs soon!

In my case the treatment itself is worrying as there is no way my DH would cope with twins (or no way he would support something that is more likely to result in twins - he has some MH and physical health problems), so we have that aspect to think about - but we will cross that bridge when we come to it. Progesterone supplements I could cope with but it sounds like I might need help ovulating in the first place (despite my always-positive OPK tests each month.. Confused)

sunshinegirl12 · 26/01/2016 13:23

Fuzzy, everything I have read says you should be able to get help from the NHS after 6 months if you're over 35 so definitely worth a visit. Maybe also tell a little fib and say its been longer than it has? But you never know, it may still be your month. What CD are you on? x

OrianaBanana · 26/01/2016 13:27

FuzzyOwl I would definitely book in with your GP so that you can start getting tests done if they want to check up on things. It can take months - I'm now up to a year of TTC and only just getting an appointment after the results - but then I left it late to see the GP. As it turns out it looks like I'll never be able to conceive without help so I'd say see someone soonest if you can. In late 30s the guidelines I think are after 6 months. x

OrianaBanana · 26/01/2016 13:27

Oops cross post with sunshinegirl12 x

OrianaBanana · 26/01/2016 13:28

And just to add you may turn out not to need the tests but as it takes so long to get them in the first place, easier to cancel if you don't than try and get them booked in if you do x

sunshinegirl12 · 26/01/2016 13:29

Friendly, how are you getting on with the chinese herbs?

Oriana, that must be really difficult for you, although I think the chance of twins is still very low (this will be my first so I would love twins so not to have to go through all this ttc again!!). Have you considered going to an acupuncturist to maybe get your hormones back on track? x

OrianaBanana · 26/01/2016 13:50

sunshinegirl12 definitely I'll look into acupuncture/Chinese Medicine (so friendly I'm interested too!), not sure I'll get far with GP!

Twins would have been more manageable maybe as DCs1&2 but with a 4yo DS I'm not sure we could cope! Mentally DH would struggle, esp with the tiredness and I couldn't cope on my own. x

FuzzyOwl · 26/01/2016 14:15

Thanks everyone. AF is due tomorrow. I have a young child already so not sure if I will be told everything is fine and it is just my age. Will go at Easter if I am still not pregnant.

It seems so many of us are having investigations now and I hope we all get positive outcomes from them.

OP posts:
mrsmugoo · 26/01/2016 15:22

Orisna there is only a 7% chance of twins with clomid - that's a 93% chance of a singleton!
