I was on 2x400mg a day and so has everyone I've ever come across. My doctor said the dose is a drop in the ocean compared to the amounts of progesterone being produced in the body anyway so I don't think it's possible to overdose!

I took it from ovulation to 12 weeks pregnant. I was supposed to test at 14dpo but I was too impatient and tested at 12dpo (which was a novelty as my natural LP was between 7-9 days!) because I had some spotting and I was about to phone the doctor crying thinking it hadn't worked on me. But I got a lovely surprise Smile

Thanks so much that is good to know. Will definitely take 2x400mg a day in that case. Fingers crossed! x

I have temped a couple of cycles in the past and it has always tied up with the positive opks. I'm a bit concerned about it really as I've always timed everything based on the positive opks, so if I don't actually ovulate until that much later then my luteal phase must be shorter than I thought. Definitely going back to temping next month as I suppose thats the only way to be sure.

Friendly, fx the progesterone works for you. I've got my first acupuncture session tonight x

Friendlycav · 25/02/2016 09:05

Thanks Sunshine. Really hope your acupuncture appointment goes well, will be interested to hear what you think x

Hi Mrsunsure, I got the cyclogest from the private consultant I went to see. He suggested I wait to have AMH and HSG tests before deciding next course of action but thanks to this forum I knew about cyclogest. I highlighted my short luteal phase (recognised through temping) and straight out asked for him to give me progesterone and thankfully he agreed :)

Hi everyone.

I am sorry you are all still struggling and feel a bit awkward saying so, but I don't want to just disappear from the thread. I got a BFP this morning and whilst I am still in shock I am also quite terrified about whether it will stick or not.

I really really hope that whenever I pop back I see that you are all doing well and also get your BFPs very soon. Thank you for all of the wonderful support you have given me.

Xx

mrsmugoo · 25/02/2016 14:57

Congrats FuzzyOwl!!

sunshinegirl12 · 25/02/2016 17:45

Congrats Fuzzy!! Did you do anything different this month? xx

FuzzyOwl · 25/02/2016 17:46

Thank you everyone.

I had acupuncture this month (only once though) and took evening primrose oil (3000mg) from cd1 until ovulation and folic acid. I used IC OPKs and we only DTD once because I had been expecting ovulation to be later than it was. On previous months, we have DTD loads so it really goes to show how much it is just luck.

11dpo and I dug yesterday's test out of the bin and that has also dried as positive, but a very faint line that I obviously wasn't expecting so threw away.

Good luck testing again tomorrow with FMU.

Fuzzy, how long is your luteal phase normally? Im just off to my first acupuncture session so fx its works for me too x

mrsmugoo · 25/02/2016 18:12

Sunshine12- fingers crossed for you but your still really early to test! I know it's so tempting with a short LP but anything pre 10 days is too early.

FuzzyOwl · 25/02/2016 18:13

10 or 11 days but last month was 12. Hope acupuncture goes well for you and I see you getting your BFP soon.

I have no idea I'm afraid, I'm watching out for signs of ovulation as I presume I'll need one before next AF. I suppose I'm counting the first miscarriage day as CD1 which means I'm now on CD 11 or thereabouts but I'm expecting a 'late' ovulation while my hormones settle down.

I tested with a FR test on 9 dpo when I got my BFP, because by that point AF was late... Hmm It was a strong positive. Then of course it all went wrong. Sad

I have my chlamydia test booked for next Thursday yay. DH will talk to his GP tomorrow (he has an appt anyway) about the SA. Seems you need a letter for a test for a referral just to be seen etc. It just goes on and on... GP would not prescribe me progesterone as she said she'd be guessing and actually my levels were within ok range.. just. Or so she says, hopefully I can get hold of them to have a look myself. She did say my FSH was really good so fingers crossed a progesterone tweak will do it.. when I can get one!

sunshinegirl12 · 25/02/2016 20:19

Mrsunsure, I don't have dates for the next lot of tests yet, HSG has to be done in the first 2 weeks of cycle so they said to call in when I next get AF and they can book it in. Will get AMH bloods done at same time. Please don't worry about your appt, I am the worlds biggest worrier / wimp, and it was absolutely fine.

Oriana, I know what you mean about the NHS being a long winded process, when I saw the specialist last night he said that the NHS hadn't even done all the required bloods that they should have.

Acupuncture was good, she put needles in my feet, hands and tummy to focus on ovulation and stress relief. I'm booked in weekly for now as she said she likes to do a couple of cycles before including chinese herbs. We will see.

Goodluck for tomorrow morning Mrsunsure, I will be keeping an eye out for your update x

mrsunsure does that mean your LP may have lengthened without spotting? Fingers crossed for a BFP but if it's negative the extended LP is still a positive sign?

Yes my friend started trying the same time as me, she has a 4 month old. A friend recently got pregnant and she was telling everyone oh we just started trying in Januray and the next month we were pregnant! Happy for her but bloody hell Sad
