I worry that there might be something more than just a luteal phase as some cycles I've had an 11 day luteal phase and still no luck, though I know its still on the short side.

I'm home now and still no appt from the NHS, so glad to have my private one booked, though stressed already about returning to work and hearing about redundancyHmm

FuzzyOwl · 14/02/2016 12:20

Glad to hear from you mascara and I still haven't posted anything on social media about my pregnancy, birth or updates of my DC who is almost 1!

When are you back in work Sunshine?

Mrsunsure, glad you got your positive OPK on Valentines to give you even more reason to DTD today. Hopefully it will be lucky for you.

According to FF my average luteal phase is now 11 days. This month AF was a bit odd with a clot at 8dpo and real AF being quite light and short, but I'm putting that down to the travelling messing with my cycle (have just been reading about this on Google haha) x

OrianaBanana · 14/02/2016 17:57

Oh gosh ladies as if you didn't have enough to worry about - I hope your jobs are safe. xx

I managed to see someone today, after some drama (heavier bleeding and me crying a lot because nobody wanted to see or talk to me without dismissing me out of hand) at an OOH clinic. He couldn't do much but at least he was sympathetic and listened to me, and I found out my progesterone levels on Thurs were 'compatible with pregnancy' - so I feel more at peace now I feel I've done everything I can. Still bleeding, still pregnant for now xx

Hopefully it'll all be ok Oriana, must be such a worry for you, hope you are getting plenty of real life support. Flowers

Apparently crossing time zones can really mess up hormones so for now I'm putting this strange cycle down to that and hope this month is better. I've been waiting over 3 months just for my ultrasound appt, despite chasing several times. It seems crazy x

OrianaBanana · 14/02/2016 19:13

Thank you both, and that is comforting xx

My NHS scan also came through really quickly (less than 2 weeks after my appointment with the GP) so I would definitely try and chase again sunshine

Another pregnancy announcement on Facebook today. I am obviously happy for my friend but it really hurts that it's not me yet and I am so jealous!

I'm on cd4 so not much going on with me. I'm feeling really demoralised as acupuncture and herbs don't seem to have had much effect. My cycle has consistently been 24 days the last 5 months with a luteal phase of 8 or 9 days. My appointment with the private consultant is on Thursday. It's going to cost a fortune but I really don't care as long as I get some answers.

Friendlycav · 14/02/2016 19:54

Travelling also does crazy things to me. When I went travelling after uni, I didn't have a period for the 6 months I was away x

Hi Mrsunsure, I've also got the book you mentioned 'it starts with the egg' but have to admit I skim read it when I bought it so will definitely look at it again if it has a chapter on supplements, sounds interesting. I take evening primrose from cd1 to ovulation to try and increase cm but can't say I've noticed much improvement. I used to take pregnare conception vitamins but now take vitafem (Zita West conception vitamins) but they are a real faff as have to remember to take them 3 times a day. I also take vitamin B6 to try and lengthen luteal phase but again, haven't seen any improvement yet.

I'm also really stressed by work which doesn't help. I hate my job but feel I can't leave as my company has a good maternity leave policy. It's so hard, ttc really does take over every aspect of your life. I'm so envious of people that conceive easily and don't have to go through all this!

Thats good Mrsunsure, and it always helps to feel you're being proactive. My aim is to gain weight as at my current BMI I won't be within the guidelines for IVF etc. Can i just ask what are the basics of the fertility cleanse diet? Does it include whole dairy or cut out dairy completely as I have read different things, but with wanting to gain weight I am trying to include alot more of it.

Its hard to know what to do isn't it, I hate work too esp how its such a gossipy environment, the plan had been to leave to hopefully find something part time after I had a baby, but obviously it hasn't worked out that way. And now I am scared about the redundancy as it means we may not be able to afford the private costs. There's always something for us to stress about. Sad

mascaraisamust · 15/02/2016 07:29

Mrsunsure after the mc I did the same as you and stopped everything apart from the basic folic and vitamin d x

mascaraisamust · 15/02/2016 07:31

Orianna, things must be tough at the minute but you are right you've done everything you can possibly do. Hopefully they can scan you soon?

OrianaBanana · 15/02/2016 08:31

I'm sorry, no point now. I'm bowing out for now but I'll be back I'm sure, probably sooner rather than later. Take care everyone and I sincerely wish you good luck with TTC in the meantime, and with your job situations too Flowers

sunshinegirl12 · 15/02/2016 09:19

Oriana, sorry to hear this, really hope your ok and hope you are back soon to let us know how you are xxx

sunshinegirl12 · 15/02/2016 10:05

Has anyone tried softcups / mooncups after DTD? I'm not sure I fancy trying this but getting desperate now x

FuzzyOwl · 15/02/2016 11:35

Hope work is ok today sunshine. I have never used soft cups but a couple of years ago I was on the ttc threads then and several ladies did. I have recently been well assured though that sperm enters at quite a speed and cups aren't needed - but who knows?!

Glad you got your positive opk mrs and hope you DTD.

Flowers Oriana. Thinking of you.

How long have you been doing acupuncture and using herbs Friendly? Hope your appointment this week goes well.

I am into the --short version of the- 2ww now. I don't think we did enough but feel ok about it now. However, I am determined to make sure we do everything possible next month. Last couple of times I got pregnant I was taking Chinese herbs and I have found somewhere to buy them from, so will take them again. I have been taking evening primrose oil which I will continue to do and I will swap folic acid for pregnacare as that is what I did last time. Even though I know when my rough fertile time will start, I am also tempted to use Clearblue OPKs next month to make sure I don't miss the build up to ovulation.

OP posts:
sunshinegirl12 · 15/02/2016 12:51

Thats good to know as I don't really fancy using them but at this point I'm willing to try anything. I'm also starting evening primrose oil this month, did it help you with EWCM? Where are the chinese herbs from? I've got an acupuncture appt next week so hoping she will give me some too.

Fuzzy, fx this is your lucky month, I've seen lots of threads where people have got their BFP after only DTD once during the fertile period. I might try every other day this cycle as every day doesn't seem to be working Hmm

FuzzyOwl · 15/02/2016 13:21

Before I had DC1 the EPO definitely helped but this time around I am not so sure (and I take 3000mg). The herbs are from an online site - www.chineseherb.co.uk - but I have never bought anything from there before so I can't recommend it at this stage. When I looked the herbs up, they seem to be for various things but my acupuncturist told me I needed these ones because my core body temperature was too cold to conceive so they had nothing to do with my LP. When I had my mmc we only DTD once that month so I guess I associate it with something going wrong, which is silly really as lots of people get pregnant from a one off. Really hope this is the lucky month for all of us.
