Thread 6! Wowzers! Welcome one and all! Group of weirdos, wee hoarders, covert opk or okp, depending on what your autocorrect decides addicts with a side business in cm management!

Post your stats and add your dates. We have a register thanks to kat, a resident piss stick queen runner, loaaaaaads of bfp'ers who keep us positive! We don't have rules, we love a good symptom spot, we try to stay grounded and not be hysterical sometimes we manage it aswell

But on the whole, we're a good bunch, especially bunch who is literally, a bunch. bunch

Mileymoocow OMG yes. My OH and I do not talk about bodily functions (I can't wait to see how he deals with me being pg!) so he is horrified when he sees how bloated I can get - I actually cannot button up my jeans!!

twinkydink · 18/01/2016 12:58

Reading all your messages keeps me sane! Especially cos there is no one I can talk to in RL except my partner but he isn't too keen on the symptoms chat!!!

Is anyone else not using opk? I'm just doing it based on Ovia but lots of peeps don't seem to thing it's that accurate! Just trying to dtd even other day the mo!

Kathrino · 18/01/2016 13:02

I'm not using OPK twinky, just Ovia for me as well and inputting details of CM etc. I've never spent so I have time staring at the contents of my knickers.

I think we might try them in a couple of months if we're still not getting anywhere but at the moment it just feels like an added layer of stress especially as current work schedules mean that we can't DTD when we want to.

IrregularCommentary · 18/01/2016 13:03

I'm not using opk twinky, though only on cycle 1 so that may change!

Just going by ovia and how I'm feeling. If I'm feeling up for dtd every other day then it's probably the right time of the month! Ovia so far ties in with that so fingers crossed.

ImpYCelyn · 18/01/2016 13:12

I'm not using opk, but this is a TTC warm up cycle. I might get some for next month.

Someone said epilators... I have a leg one and a bikini line one. The leg one stings like crazy, and is way worse than waxing as you have to do it for so much longer. I never use it! And the bikini one hurts less, and I used it for a while, but then I started getting horrendous ingrown hairs. My bikini area looked horrific! So I went back to razors, but I find I've started slashing my legs, like I don't know how to use one, so I'm about to try out the cream route.

Bloody hair maintenance!

Mileymoocow · 18/01/2016 13:19

starky if laser removal is an option I'd go for it. Had it on my under arms and bikini line and I'm smoooooth! I epilate legs cause I'm not rich enough for everything done or I'd be bald from my eyelashes down I know you can get facial epilators, have heard good things as long as you exfoliate!

impy I'm totally of the opinion that being hairy should be completely acceptable and honoured. It's such a ball ache. OH is fascinated with lady shaving he's a hairy kind, all stubbly beard and manly chest he's impressed at the amount of work I put in!

Lol fx I sometimes think OH wishes we didn't have to discuss bodily functions but I'm far too open and honest for my own good. I'm absolutely ok grossing him out with descriptions of my cm and sometimes even bowel movements. He's fine with it though I hope and acts awfully concerned when I mention I'm crippled with smelly gas

IndiX · 18/01/2016 13:20

Stark I would definitely recommend threading, I am very dark and hairy DH calls me a chimp, thanks for that my darling.... and usually get my eyebrows and lip waxed but if you are sensitive to wax I'd go down the threading route. It stings a bit but results are great. Sorry for long cycle btw, noisy husbands are the worst I have a loud breather/snorer so I know it can put you in a bad mood all day. Try to think positively, fx for lucky cycle no.2!
So I was reading about the whole 20% chance of conceiving evey month..is that even if I had sex every day?! Seems an awfully low percentage? Why does everyone make out you'll get pg even touching a penis when you're younger?!!! I wish it was that easy!

IndiX · 18/01/2016 13:22

Btw I too don't discuss any bodily functions with DH I may have said I don't poo when we first got together and still to this day keep up that lie...yes after 6 years together he obviously knows I poo but i am in denial and tell him girls don't poo. Period.

Mileymoocow · 18/01/2016 13:29

indi I do believe that is the average chance you have when dtd at correct times. Sucks doesn't it! Sad that's like 1 in every 5 of us which is totally soul destroying. I'm pissed off with my sex ed teacher she probably did mention it but I was probably still too busy laughing at the plastic penis you put a condom on and throwing the tampons around like bombs

ImpYCelyn · 18/01/2016 13:32

Laughing my head off at the bodily functions. My husband is French, and they are massive over-sharers of all things medical, but only in that context. So totally fine to chat about your constipation and get advice, but not your general poo... Lol. My mother in law asks the most breathtaking questions about my health, but she was a physiotherapist specialised in gynaecological rehabilitation. Which is useful, but embarrassing over dinner! Shock So fortunately DH can cope with my CM, spotting, bowel movement, nipples etc during pregnancy, because he's used to it. But he we can't both be in the bathroom if one is so much as weeing!

He's also a werewolf, so I tell him he can't complain if I haven't done my legs, and he doesn't Grin would love laser treatment though, I need to look into that.

Really sorry for those with BFNs Sad and long cycles is so tough! It's normal to have down days though, TTC is such a roller coaster. I remember with my first it took 6 months, which isn't that long, but I was 24, and I was so furious that I could be that young and healthy and it take that long, when they tell you it can happen on your first time, if he withdraws, during your period and standing up Grin

ImpYCelyn · 18/01/2016 13:33

Yeah, I think it's 20% of people who are actually TTC, it doesn't include all the accidental ones.

LaraG13 · 18/01/2016 14:09

starky and impy I can completely recommend IPL laser hair removal. It's awesome. I got cheap deals on groupon. I've found that hair starts growing back after a year or two so it doesn't get rid forever. But for a while it means no stubble, no ingrowing hairs, no rash and no shaving. Worth the money to me (it wasn't all that expensive if you get a deal, and definitely not more than the cost of getting waxed all the time )

Sorry some of you are feeling down today. This Ttc business can be very emotional. kwick I can't remember how long you've been Ttc? Hope it goes well today.

I'm pretty certain I'm not upduffed this cycle.

Loulabelle1990 · 18/01/2016 14:15

Oh gosh, after reading about drinking alcohol whilst ttc has scared me! I came off my pill over 6 weeks ago and have had no bleed, was going to do a pg test this Saturday - at the weekend I had 2 small glasses of wine and 2 vodkas and cranberry juice. Hope I've not affected anything doing this!

I am the same as you indi, I do not fart or Poo wishful thinking xx

LaraG13 · 18/01/2016 14:16

indi can't remember how old you are but I think the % is more like 15% in our 30s. It makes it sound so unlikely! But I suppose it's like rolling a six. Unlikely in one roll, and unlikely if you look at each roll (or month) individually, but if you keep rolling again and again it's very likely to happen.

IndiX · 18/01/2016 14:31

Loulabelle haha we are a bit crazy aren't we. I'm fine talking about sick, period etc but I don't poo or fart unless he is out the house or I use a different bathroomGrin
Lara I'm 25 so don't know if that affects anything, I'm not in any major rush to have a baby right now but it would be nice sooner rather than later. I guess you just grow up thinking it will happen instantly and it doesn't work like that!
I have watery CM and I'm in my fw. Ovia says I'm most fertile on Wednesday so I take it that's when it'll think I ovulate? I'm still very new to all this ovulation and cycles talk

Chocaholic88 · 18/01/2016 14:45

Good luck kwick

Welcome impy I'm TTC #3 too but miley doesn't look like my previous two pregnancies have helped me to work out what's going on right now?! 😂😂

Today is the same as the ones before it, nausea, dizziness, metal taste in mouth... to name a few! Eurgh!

Also found out today that the Dr I saw on Friday has a bit of a reputation in our village for being unconcerned and not pushing things further! Hmmm do I bother seeing another one?!

ImpYCelyn · 18/01/2016 15:00

Hi choc, wow with those symptoms it does sound like you should be getting a BFP! Classic set. But worrying if your doctor is lax. I think in these situations you start by being not so bothered, and then after a while (about a day with me lol) you just decide you can't wait anymore and go back and demand Grin

drinkyourmilk · 18/01/2016 15:02

Sorry to hear about all the bfn, I've one of my own to add. Had a bit of spotting yesterday and now the cramps are building. I'm out girls! Roll on Feb. I'm sat watching trashy TV and crocheting a baby blanket. I've a beardy sleeping on my knee and a steaming hot cup of tea. Life could be worse 😊

Chocaholic88 · 18/01/2016 15:12

imp I've had a BFP... on 27th December... just every test since has been BFN including a blood test ... but I still haven't had a bleed and I still have every symptom in the book! Sooo frustrating! We deduced I may have been ovulating over the weekend but that doesn't explain everything else! Plus my boobs have gone from a A cup to a C cup... wtf?!

Sorry to hear your out drink

Feefeefs · 18/01/2016 15:32

FXskip it must have been you who recommended expecting better originally I knew it was someone on here! Thanks

I think blue Monday has hit here, I managed to DTD last night going to try again today but a bit knackered! Will be annoyed if I haven't given it a good shot.

I really like threading starky but it does make me red, fades fairly quickly tho.

I'm not using opk yet either twinky

That's hiliarious indy of course girls don't poo.

ImpYCelyn · 18/01/2016 15:41

That's so strange choc! When was the last blood test done? Did they not chart anything to even see if levels were rising or falling? I would definitely get onto a different doctor.

Chocaholic88 · 18/01/2016 15:59

Monday 11th! Nope, no offer of another test impy however the midwife wants to to phone her on 26th and still go to the booking appointment on the 28th if I haven't bled. I also made the mistake of posting a link earlier in this thread to Cryptic pregnancy and now have left myself to wonder if I'm one of the 1 in 450 woman it happens to lol!

OK slightly unrelated but I found this article earlier and thought it might clear up the confusion of some ladies getting BFP earlier than others:

hCG doubles every 48 hours. You can have a level of 1 - 5 in a non pregnant state.

Implantation could belater than you think.

If a woman implants at 8dpo, with a 'non pregnant' hCG level of 1 [Which is totally normal] it would rise as follows

8dpo - 1miu hcg
10dpo - 2miu
12dpo - 4miu
14dpo [Day AF is typically due] - 8miu
16dpo - 16miu

So this lady wouldn't finnd out until 15dpo on a very senstive 10miu pregnancy test, superdrug own or possibly asda own. Obviously if she implants LATER than 8dpo [which is normal] she will find out even later.

Now, Take a lady who implants at 8dpo, But has a'Non pregnant' hCG level of 5. Hers looks like this;

8dpo - 5miu
10dpo- 10miu - Could find out here on superdrug own, internet cheapie
12dpo - 20miu - Could find out here with freedom cheapie strip/most poundland tests and asda own]
14dpo - 40miu [day period is typically due] Most tests would pick it up here

So, This lady, Even though implantation is on the same say for both ladies, Can find out MUCH sooner. Now, If this lady were to implant at 6dpo she could potentially find out at just 8dpo. But if the first lady were to implant at 12dpo, She would find out even later, Even if they have the same cycle and OV days!

Kathrino · 18/01/2016 16:06

Thanks for posting that choc, it's really helpful to see it written out like that. It's so hard not to compare yourself to others but the more that I learn, the more it seems like it's a futile exercise because all of our bodies will just do their own thing.

Sorry about your BFN drink. I'm hoping the Feb bus is a lucky bus.

ImpYCelyn · 18/01/2016 16:52

That's really interesting choc, thanks!

That's good that the midwife is helping you! Good luck!

StarkyTheDirewolf · 18/01/2016 17:44

Ooh I fart like champ! Dh is used to it! I'm better it than him! And im also an over-sharer re bodily functions with him! I tried to hide it initially, but once I'd fallen asleep with him cwtched up behind me and then let one rip all by accident I have up the idea of feminine mystery! And then there was tofugate, which I've told the legend of on here before. I was musical! And fuck me, I smelled like a thousand rotting corpses after a heatwave.

I reckon I might try threading, I should start getting used to pain now in preparation for labour Grin
