Hi any new starters on clomid
I just started my first round of clomid 50mg (3-7) had my scan on day 12 , two mature follicles on right and small one on left.
Had no side effects from taking clomid,but ovulation was so painful that I could hardly walk.

Would love to hear from other people there experience on clomid ..

Been trying for 3 years,miscarriage last year at 4 months, I do ovulate but not enough to substation a pregnancy,hence the clomid .hubby is fine with his sperm.. Am levels are low as well

thanks for the luck i need it! been ttc for over 2 years now starting to get really down :(

in regards to your scan don't loose hope - i had the same issue!

• 1st scan ( day 9) - had loads of small follicles under 6mm

• 2nd scan (day 11) - had loads of small follicles and 2 8mm ( and a thin lining 6.5mm) doc was convinced this cycle gone to waste

• 3rd scan ( day 14) - lining improved and one follicle grew but only to 11mm

• 4th scan ( day 17) - lining improved and one 14mm follicle appeared out of nowhere! but still very slow!

-5th scan ( day 20) - follicle burst :) and now waiting for confirmation i had a mature egg and hoping it didn't burst to early...

so there is hope :) im proof fingers crossed Friday brings you luck x

Thanks pear that makes me feel a bit better we have been trying for 3years now starting to feel like it will never happen I always used to think I ovulate really late in my cycle GPS told me that was impossible shows what he knew! Well fx for both of us then!

I started 50mg of Clomid on the 10th August with no AF (last one was 15th June)

First scan day 10 showed 10mm and 13mm follicle on my left ovary and a 2.5mm lining in my Uterus. Nurse advised me that Clomid might not be for me and we might need to look at other options. Advised to come back on day 12.

Returned on Friday just there day 12 to be told I now have 3 follicles 18mm 17 and 13mm with my lining now at 4.5mm she advised me that there is nothing to worry about and looks like I would ovulate this weekend infact my cycle looks like it was looking good for Ovulating on cycle day 14 (which is today) She advised that because I have 2 large follicles that there is a high chance of twins but its worth the risk to which I agreed.

I am to go for bloods on the 31st August to see if I have ovulated, Couldn't help myself last night and had to try an ovulation test and to my surprise this is what I got.

That's fab megz I have been getting a gradually darker second line every time I test on my opks so I'm taking that as a good sign hoping it will be properly positive tomorrow as my follicle was 20mm on Friday!

i had my 21 day blood test ( on my day 28 as i ovulated on day Day 28) and they confirmed i ovulated with a egg :) my progesterone levels were 34... and i have been told to now wait 10 days and then do a pregnancy test! im so nervous :( but also excited its all so confusing x

I had my scan last Wed. Had a 19mm follicule (only one thank goodness) on the left ovary. So they expected me to ovulate that week. CBFM picked up a peak on Friday but temps have not yet showed ovulation :-/ I had a drop in temp yesterday (so am not sure what is going on) I think I am 3dpo though so fingers crossed!

that reminds me actually iv been using cbfm too and its been really off this month no peak... and only started showing high on Day 19 of my cycle and still shows me high to now... so im starting to question its reliability as bloo tests cant lie...

Hmmm interesting - although mine clarifies what they told me in clinic - it's my temps that don't match up!

I'm totally confused and frustrated by the whole thing now they told me to start using opks on Friday after my eggcellent scan! So used first one Saturday showed only faint line Sunday slightly darker line Monday darker again yesterday and today no line at all all the lines I got were lighter than the control lines so not a positive what the shell is going on have i ovulated have I not ovulated is my follicle still growing a super size egg and its just taking its time or is it possible to have a scan showing 20mm follie then my body decides just not to bother argh driving me nuts ! Pear and Birchygoo, fx for you both hopefully bfp!

Ugh Coribeth how frustrating!! I found I couldn't cope/read those opk's at all. I thought I had 7 positives in a row so I bought a cbfm to take the guessing work out of it. I suspect that your last reading was your positive. It may be that it would have got darker that day and it was just missed.

I have been doing some reading regarding temps as it seems clomid makes your temps rise as well so that's maybe why they haven't registered my ovulation (i am hoping!). My temps were unusually high preovulation this month though!

Birchygoo my temp has been ridiculous this month as a nurse I have access to blood pressure pulse and thermometer machines that are highly accurate but the Clomid has had it all over the place constantly sweaty no rhyme or reason to it! I was thinking if I get af this month I might invest in the cbfm how much did u pay for yours and where did you buy?

Hi all, I have PCOS and took Clomid days 2-6 for the first time this cycle. Went for my scan today on CD11 and..well I didnt take note of the follicle sizes..but do remember the nurse saying one on my right was 8mm so nowhere near ovulating. I am going back next Wednesday for another scan as she said they grow at about 1mm/day and should be nearing ovulation by then. I had no symptoms from taking Clomid as I took it at night. Will watch out for the drying of cm then...lots of Preseed help??

Welcome arty lucky you on the no side affects front! When I went for scan they told me follicles can grow by 2mm a day they said I had about 5 @ less than 10mm then went back 3days later and was told I had one at 20mm so I guess there is no hard and fast rules everyone is different!

Coribeth I got my cbfm in boots an it cost 120 could have cried at the price. If I was buying it now I would get it second hand from eBay or something - I had visions of other people's pee over it but you insert the opposite end of the stick (the part you hold) into the machine.
I do find its easy to flood the sticks so do have to pee and dip every morning.

Birchygoo, wow pricey! Probs would get second hand as think dp might have fit!

yehh ..I never told dh the price :-/ I bought it on a depressed whim one day when AF arrived!

Thanks for the welcome Coribeth and Birchygoo! Yes, I have seen online that the follicles grow 1-2mm a day so I am wondering what the point is of going back next Wednesday if I may have ovulated by then. The scans are so expensive!

Arty are you paying for each scan separate? We just bought a package which covered follicle tracking scans the consultant appt and the Clomid which was £440 altogether, if af arrives then have to go see consultant as they don't really want me using Clomid again due to side affects I had said would probably have to go on to injectables dread to think how much they will cost!

Hello, my DH and I have been ttc for two years. I was diagnosed with pcos last April. DH semen analysis was all good and I've been waiting ages for Clomid! Decided to go private in the end. Yesterday I was prescribed Provera (5mg) for five days then (10mg) for five days. Then to take Clomid on days 2-6. I'm so excited I cried when he gave me the prescription as I was so happy! I have 3 months of clomid (50mg) and told to go back in 3 months time if I'm not pregnant by then. I asked if I'd have scans or anything but he said no, it doesn't really matter. I'd be so so grateful for any advice on provera/Clomid and also any success stories. I'm 29 and DH is 33. Thank you so much in advance. Emma x

Ok so something amazing happened! I got my BFP!!! I have my 1st scan booked for the 10th September to confirm everything is ok ???? 2 years of ttc finally it's worked! Baby dust to all hope you all get bfps soon too!!!

Coribeth I will ask about whether we are on a package, I dont think we are. What injectables? The nurse told me last week (I think?)that if they see you are nearing ovulation they give you an injection to ovulate in the next 36 hours. I wondered what the point was? Maybe I misunderstood. I was really unprepared last time and didnt ask enough questions.
