Hi any new starters on clomid
I just started my first round of clomid 50mg (3-7) had my scan on day 12 , two mature follicles on right and small one on left.
Had no side effects from taking clomid, but ovulation was so painful that I could hardly walk.

Would love to hear from other people there experience on clomid ..

Been trying for 3 years, miscarriage last year at 4 months, I do ovulate but not enough to substation a pregnancy, hence the clomid .hubby is fine with his sperm.. Am levels are low as well

My mum had clomid so she could have me. I'm all for it! Good luck Grin

VixxFace · 14/08/2015 09:27

Eskimo good luck for this morning. Let us know how you get on, hope it's positive news.

I had my last clomid scan today and they said it doesn't work for me. I have some tablets at home so will take 150 by myself and wait for my pre ivf appointment in September.

In my area the clomid is 275 a cycle and iui is 700. But ivf is 3 rounds free which is good.

eskimoflo · 15/08/2015 10:28

Thanks for the wishes everyone Smile

Vixx Please keep us updated with how things go. Don't disappear! Clomid is £275 per cycle? Wow!

Moomin Same goes for you- I have shared at least two different threads with you now, and would love to know when you get your BFP! Grin

CD21 for me. Yawn.

Moomin37 · 15/08/2015 22:03

Aww eskimoflo thank you Flowers I will keep popping back to this thread to see how you're doing - hope the blood tests confirm ovulation and you get your BFP soon Smile

Coribeth thank you so much for your good wishes Smile and sorry to hear you had a rough time on Clomid - sounds like it was very scary Sad I've had real trouble sleeping the past couple of weeks and had put it down to dress at work, but I'm beginning to think the Clomid is to blame. I have also struggled to cope with the pressure more than I normally would - I'm usually pretty resilient and determined (my husband described me as being 'in pieces' last week - yikes I didn't think I was that bad!!).

coribeth · 17/08/2015 00:15

Moomin :Yeah I know what you mean about the insomnia symptoms but I've been on nights so in some ways that has been an advantage lol the hot flushing and looking like I've just been in a sauna fully clothed for an hour not so much keep having to explain to my patients! Hopefully it will be all worth while in the end when we get that BFP!

coribeth · 17/08/2015 00:42

Wow 275 for clomid we had to pay 440 but that does include a day 2 and day 10 scan I've been told iui is 1000 and ivf is 8000 so if clomid doesn't work for us iui would be our only option as ivf is to expensive!

eskimoflo · 17/08/2015 11:43

Just called the hospital in the hope that they'd have my results from Friday. They had. The clomid didn't work again- my progesterone level was 2. I've had a cry and DH has given me lots of hugs. Just feeling absolutely rubbish now. The hospital are going to give me a call back this afternoon, hopefully with next steps. Sad Sad Sad Is anyone else on 150mg of clomid? I think that's what they will suggest next.

VixxFace · 17/08/2015 12:10

Ah Eskimo sorry to hear that. I understand how you feel.

When is af due so you can start the 150 mg? I am going to do the same.

eskimoflo · 17/08/2015 12:23

Vixx I don't have periods, so I have no idea! It's rubbish isn't it? I just feel so useless. I'm just waiting for the hospital to call back this afternoon to see what they say, but I also found this online and if you scroll down, you'll see it has a step-by-step guide to taking clomid, which is clear and really useful because of all the juggling around of dates and other tracking we have to contend with! www.leedsth.nhs.uk/a-z-of-services/leeds-centre-for-reproductive-medicine/about-your-condition/treatment-information/ovulation-induction/

It advises that if a period doesn't arrive from between 4-5 weeks after taking the clomid, then to do a pregnancy test (which will obviously be negative) and then start to take the progesterone tablets again to induce a bleed. I took my last clomid tablet on the 31st, so 4-5 weeks from then for me will be around the end of August, beginning of September. I get back from holiday on the 3rd, so might start it again when I get back. x x x

VixxFace · 17/08/2015 12:54

I have been taking noristephene the last 2 cycles too!

It is so frustrating isn't it. Thanks for the link I will check it out.

I am going to do 150 mg so we can be cycle buddies if you want? No idea when my period is due so will Also have to take the pills.

eskimoflo · 17/08/2015 13:18

Oh Vixx, that would be really nice Grin Let me know when you are going to start the prog pills. 4 weeks for me will be 28th August and 5 weeks will be 4th September. I get back from holiday on 3rd Sept, but if you're going to start them 28th, I could always take some pills on holiday with me x x

VixxFace · 17/08/2015 13:37

I think I'm 4 weeks next week but I will wait until end of the month as well and then take the tablets. How long did you take them for last time?

Are you going anywhere nice on holiday?

eskimoflo · 17/08/2015 13:51

I was prescribed them for 5 days, one tablet twice a day.

We are going to Italy, which is my favourite country! Very much looking forward to relaxing and eating lots of pasta!

What are your stats BTW? I'm 33, TTC number 1 since November last year, although no cycles obviously means that nothing has happened, so I'm not counting in cycles x x

VixxFace · 17/08/2015 14:15

Ah I'm jealous. Always wanted to go there.

5 days to take it isn't long for the tablets I took noristephene for 2 weeks!

I am 29 ttc number 1. Had a miscarriage in 2012 at 10 weeks. Have pcos.

Have ivf booked for September Sad

eskimoflo · 17/08/2015 14:32

Sorry for your MC Flowers

Two weeks??! The first time I took them, I was prescribed them by the GP, who told me to take one three times a day for 10 days. Then, when I got referred to the consultant, he advised twice a day for 5 days! So I was a bit confused and sceptical, and the first time, I took them for 7 days at twice a day, which worked, and then the second time for 6 days, which worked again, so I think I will take them for 5 this time. When I was on them for 10 days, I got fed up and my skin went really spotty because of the progesterone, so I'm glad that the consultant said only 5 days.

IVF sounds scary, but at least you have an end date in mind for all of this. I think I would be relieved to have that Flowers

VixxFace · 17/08/2015 14:45

5 days is much better but I wouldn't have thought long enough! Will try 5 days as well. The period pain was horrific last month from the tablets!

Been ttc to conceive for about 10 years have 3 shots on ivf so fingers crossed. Am hoping 150 mg clomid works before that though!

coribeth · 17/08/2015 22:41

Eskimo: sorry to hear that clomid didn't work for you this time fingers crossed for 150mg next cycle!
Off for my cd10 scan tomorrow so fingers crossed my ovaries have been really achy that's gotta be a good sign right?

SnowBells · 17/08/2015 23:12

Can I join in?

First round of Clomid 50mg. CD 2-6. Not sure whether it worked out as felt no side effects whatsoever!

coribeth · 17/08/2015 23:30

Hi snow
Think if you have side effects it's just unlucky I've been having some horrid ones but don't think it has any bearing on if it's worked for you or not fx for you! I have a cd10 scan tomoz so shall find out if it's working or not are you having any monitoring? It's a bit hit and miss what treatment people are offered!

SnowBells · 18/08/2015 00:51

I'm doing it privately as NHS just really screwed up, so have no confidence in the system whatsoever.

Will probably get next cycle tracked. Doctor preferred that but the practice is 90mins away from us... Sad

SnowBells · 18/08/2015 00:52

P.S.: I do pee on sticks though, but nothing ever came out of it!

coribeth · 18/08/2015 09:56

We had to go private as couldn't get NHS funding as I have children from prev relationship bit frustrating but I suppose it's fair enough it's not an endless pot of money just hoping it works sooner rather than later as we could stretch to iui but ivf would be to much

Peardrops3 · 18/08/2015 10:24

Hi Ladies

sorry to hear about all the sadness on here :(

i had my 5th scan on Monday and it confirmed my follicle did erupt over the weekend and we could see the corpus luteum so hoping all that DTD over the weekend and last night! will lead to some good news... need to wait till next Monday now to have my blood test to confirm there was a egg that was released so fingers crossed this cycle was not in vain!

have a lovely day ladies Flowers x

coribeth · 18/08/2015 10:27

Pear that's good news keeping my fx for a bfp for you!

coribeth · 18/08/2015 16:36
