Hi any new starters on clomid
I just started my first round of clomid 50mg (3-7) had my scan on day 12 , two mature follicles on right and small one on left.
Had no side effects from taking clomid,but ovulation was so painful that I could hardly walk.

Would love to hear from other people there experience on clomid ..

Been trying for 3 years,miscarriage last year at 4 months, I do ovulate but not enough to substation a pregnancy,hence the clomid .hubby is fine with his sperm.. Am levels are low as well

Peardrop...good luck with scan,maybe you ovulate late,they say follicles grow 2mm per day,I also took mine at nite

I'm on cycle 23, before clomid my cycle was 25 days ,I can feel the witch is coming, don't know if cycle will be longer now that I'm on clomid..just waiting for 21 day progesterone results

peardrops massive hugs! I can so relate. I ended up fleeing a friend's baby naming ceremony early as I just couldn't take all the new mums and babies.

I triggered on Weds so should be 3 dpo today.

Not sure if it's delayed effect of the Clomid, or my body experiencing the brand new effects of progesterone for the first time (dunno if I have ever definitely ovulated before - and big follicle presumably means bigger corpus luteum and higher progesterone?) but I've been getting the most stonking hot flashes the last couple of days.

And last couple of days I've gone from feeling quite positive to weepy and massive moodswings. Not sure whether it's the hormones I've put in to my body or the effect of hormones my body has rarely if ever produced before, as a result of taking those hormones!!

peardrops me too! They said that they expected to see something with that thickness of womb lining.

jackstar thanks i hope they grow iv been TTC for over 2years now and im really feeling low :( hopefully AF wont show and it will be a little surprise instead!

banananfish hugs back - and its just so hard they just dont understand the worst part is they try to be just cant :(

and iv read somewhere that once you ovulate clomid completely leaves the body so not sure if that could be causing it... but all these different injected hormones along with our natural hormones are bound to have some sort of impact so maybe its that...

Took my first Clomid 50mg this morning have been TTC for 3 years with no luck so I have everything crossed and am hopeful it will work as my cycle is rather irregular 28_35 days and my partner has marginally low motility the side effects however I have to say where awful approx twenty minutes after taking my heart started to pound and had massive hot flush and dizziness felt very faint only lasted a couple of minutes but was scary then could not stay awake literally slept till 3.30 which is not at all like me and have been having a horrendous headache and all sweaty ever since bit worried about tomorrows pill but will be taking at night this time hopeful be worth it in the end!

coribeth - good luck with your clomid cycle. I have just taken my 3rd tablet last night. I take it before bed but I did notice some palpitations but they did not last that long thankfully. I also had coke so I did actually put the palpitations down to that.

I want to be hopeful for myself this cycle but don't want to get my hopes up too much. I have my mid cycle scan next week so I am counting down the days to that to see what is happening!

Brichygoo- good luck hope all goes well for you still can't shift this headache but can cope with it unless it gets worse! Had my first day two/ three scan this morning I asked loads of questions but they were a bit non committal but apparently there are 5 start up follicles on one ovary but nothing on the other side so as wasn't getting solid answers not sure if that's normal good or bad she said the mid cycle scan would tell her more!

ooh I never had a day2/3 scan - was this through the NHS? My first one is cd13. Seems like ages away yet! CD5 today

So my doctor has just rung with my 21 day progesterone blood results,it's 82 which he said is excellent,anything over 30 is classed as ovulation......

Before clomid my progesterone was 16 then the following month was 80, so I don't ovulate every month,hence why I was put on clomid,but I still wasn't getting pregnant when I was ovulating and using the clear blue advanced monitor...

Will see if the witch turns up in 2 days

Birchygoo - I had children with my XH but none with my current partner so we have to pay privately same hospital and everything they said after I started my AF I was to phone for scan appt for CD 2/3 which was today then have to have another one on CD 10 or thereabouts to check how many eggs have been produced I'm guessing as they spent ages today telling me if I released to many they would recommend using barrier methods this cycle (feel that would somehow defeat the object!) I was ovulting pre Clomid they were just unsure as to how effectively as my cycle was anything between 28-35 days also as I'm 39 they were concerned about egg quality so hoping given they mentioned 5 start up follicles that they are not going to suggest not trying this cycle as can't see that going down to well with OH lol!

Well today af is meant to show her ugly face,nothing so far ...but not gonna get my hopes up as I know clomid can delay your period.....hate waiting

Jack - I'm sorry af arrived :-( did you have mid cycle scans and blood tests?

I'm on cd7 now so took my last clomid last night. Have ha a few hot flushes today. Nothing major just feels like I'm getting embarrassed which I use to do a lot when I was younger.

I use the advanced cbfm and it read a high reading today for me. Is that not very early? Would clomid be giving me a fake early reading?

@coribeth....the same happened to me this month when using the advance monitor on cd6 I automatically got a high,then high the following day,doctor said I wouldn't need it this month as with scan mid cycle will tell me when I was going to ovulate and timed intercourse ....but will probably use it this cycle as I'm not being monitored,let me know if you continue to use it

I got a high reading on the last day of my clomid too! I didn't ovulate till a week later - I think I read that clearblue recommend you start testing only 3 days after your last pill to avoid false highs, but as the Cbfm was asking me to test and it didn't know I'd taken clomid I just fed it sticks when it asked! I got my peak at exactly the right time though (day after I triggered - so it def was a correct peak, albeit a lot of days of high preceding it...

I'm 6dpo and just want the witch to bloody arrive so we can get on with things. My scan showed my lining was likely too thin to be able to support implantation, so I'm not expecting anything to happen - just want to get on with having my day 3 bloods redone! DH and I will both have our virology bloods done at the same time - got a letter from the consultant advising which IVF protocol he's recommending, and getting all the HFEA forms sent through.

I bought a bloody 6 month supply of Inofolic (inositol + Folic acid) as it was cheaper than continuing to buy the tablets.

It's brilliant for PCOS - as I'm no longer presenting as PCOS and being treated as a low responder, it's best I stop taking inositol (as I'm about to start DHEA and the two work against each other!). It's just going to sit there unused - cost me £100 but I can't return it so if anyone wants it then I'll happily send it to them for the cost of postage. Would be happy if it went to a good home

Well after one round of Clomid I need to bid you all farewell and good luck as I won't be taking any more. Had side effects and therefore progressing to the next treatment. One more step along the fertility journey we go... Hope you all get some good news soon

@bananafish sorry about the lining and hope that AF arrives soon so you can start your next round.

I had my 4th scan today and it was actually good news for once! my lining has thickened from 6.5mm to 8.55mm and i finally have a dominant follicle at 14mm BUT im Day 17! but doc says they predict i will ovulate over the weekend so fingers crossed! going in for the blood test and another scan to confirm on Monday.

i have also been using the cbfm but it just keeps saying low even today... but yet scans show it should be high fertility so a little confused!

Hi all, haven't been on for a while as I haven't had anything to report.

Vixx You asked if they were going to scan me after this round of clomid; the answer is no. When I went for my initial consultation, and got put on the 50 mg dose, I did ask if they would scan me, but the consultant said not. Then, when that dose didn't work and they upped it to 100mg, that was all done over the phone and they didn't say anything about a scan, just CD21 blood tests again on this cycle. Tomorrow is CD20 and I have the blood test booked in for 9.45. Good luck tomorrow. Let us know what the next step for you is. Why will the iui be self funded?

Jackster Congratulations on the progesterone score- 82 is great! I know the witch turned up, but you must be relieved that you are ovulating? From the three progesterone tests that I've had, my scores have been 3, 3 and 1 so if I'm told next week that I've ovulated and then I actually had a real period, (which I haven't had since I went on the pill when I was 16) I would be over the moon!

Moomin If you don't mind me asking, what side effects did you have, and what is the next treatment? Did you get OHSS? Hope you're ok x x

Pear Your scan sounds really promising! I am currently CD19 and we DTD CD10, CD11, CD13, CD14, CD16 and yesterday which was CD18. I got a static smiley on a CB dual hormone indicator on CD13, but I don't trust OPKs as I've had positives before and never actually ovulated, so we've just kept DTD EOD and hopefully will keep it up until I get the results of my blood tests and can decide whether or not to carry on! x x

Hey Eskimoflo thanks for asking after me I had blurred vision and flashing lights. Next step is gonadotropin ovulation induction (injections) - this counts as one of my three IVF cycles. A bit in shock as was hoping the lap and dye / Clomid would do the trick (saying that it's all still to play for this month!), but I'm not messing with my vision.

Good luck for your blood tests I'm still going to get my day 21 test done to see if I ovulated (I wasn't offered scans). Thank you for being lovely and I wish you all the best x.

Moomin sad to hear the side effects were to much weird how it effects some people more than others, I had some horrendous ones the first day actually considered calling an ambulance for a moment there but they settled to a manageable level after about 5 mins felt a lot longer at time! Happy to say have been fine since good luck on your next step hope all goes well and you get your BFP!

Jackster sorry to hear AF arrived however progesterone levels sound great so fingers crossed and better luck next time!
