Short Luteal Phase

mascaraisamust · 05/07/2015 22:57

So after 6 months of ttc I've worked out I've got a short luteal phase of 9 days, however it could be even less. I get a positive opk on day 19 and 9 days later AF appears. I'm fearing it could be less that 9 days if I ovulate 24-36 hours after a postive opk. No suprises that there hasn't been a bfp yet. I'm thinking this is my obstacle. Seems I've tried everything else. Do I go to my GP? Is there any point? On preconception vitamins with b6 in and have been in them for three months and no changes. Also AF is really painful every month, wondering if there is more to this. Any ideas? Or anyone experienced/ing similar?

I don't qualify for any of that now I've had a BFP though, so ridiculous!

That is ridiculous, they make it so all hard. I'm going to say it's been 2 years just to be on the safe side x

mrsmugoo · 16/10/2015 19:52

I had an internal us when I saw my private doctor. I was cd19 and had had positive opk the day before - the scan showed ripe follicles in my ovaries ready to pop off so he knew I was literally just about to ovulate. That gave him more information than a day 21 blood test could ever do!

mascaraisamust · 16/10/2015 19:55

I've got another 6 months before I can even go back to my gp and 12
Months before being referred again. I'm determined I'll get there before then!!

Hi. Don't post much these days as not TTC atm (still got short luteal phase though) but I do like to read to see how you're all getting on. Just wanted to say, you don't always have ultrasounds with Clomid. I wasn't monitored at all. Just given it and told to get on with it!

mascaraisamust · 16/10/2015 20:46

Thanks doobeedee. Hope your ok?x

Woah private sounds so expensive! I had an internal ultrasound recently and my GP has referred me for a second because I had a lot of fluid in my pelvis and they want to see if it's still there or if it's been absorbed by my body.

I was referred after ending up in A&E a few months ago dry heaving from painful AF.

Still no AF here. Either 6DPO or 13DPO.

Hey Doobee!

Mascara that sucks but hopefully you'll have a BFP soon.

doobeedee · 17/10/2015 08:54

Fine thank you. Just really busy at work. Thinking about TTC in summer so bought some OPK's and going to start temping again in the new year. I already suspect my LP is short from observing CM, although possibly not as short as before so that's something at least.

mascaraisamust · 17/10/2015 13:31

Sunshine fingers crossed for you.
Doobeedee glad to here you're ok x

You'll have bloods and urine sample taken by the midwife. Many areas (mine included) you don't even see the GP you just self refer to the midwives who deal with everything end to end.

Sunshinegirl2015 · 18/10/2015 10:11

No news here.

CD33 - my longest cycle post pill since the very first cycle off it in January. I've been regular, ovulating on CD18 with an average 10day LP although last month LP was 11days - my longest yet.

So annoyed at myself for not monitoring CF this month.

FF still says I ovulated on CD18 as normal which would put me at 15DPO today!

I think I could've possibly ovulated on CD25 for some reason (not been stressed) putting me on 8DPO and TCOYF app has now changed from CD18 to CD28 for ovulation meaning I'd be 5DPO today!?

But why would I have ovulated later. I had some time off work this month to relax, not been ill, not been stressed...

So confused. No symptoms.

Ah Sunshine! Having two tww's is hard work!! Our bodies can just do strange things at times! Fingers crossed for BFP in a weekish time?!

Nothing to report here either, AF finished. Diet due to start tomorrow as I've had another over indulgent weekend!

Really interesting Mrsunsure, I love reading this sort of stuff. I'll give it a go this cycle and next and see if it makes any difference. Gosh I've eaten like a queen this last month! I'm at the age where you don't want to go out and you just want to meet with friends for dinner and drinks! These dinners add up calorie wise. I was shocked to see I'd put on a stone ttc! Xx

Hi all! Sorry I've been awol, been away for a week. Nothing to report here, think I'm about 5 weeks now, must have found out about 3+5 so seems like I've known forever. Did another test yesterday which was super positive so that settled the normal worries a bit, and have booked a scan for Sunday 2nd when I'll be 7/8 weeks. Going to gp this week to get midwife referrel.

Mugoo, do you have a scan soon? Many symptoms? I don't feel pregnant at all!

mrsmugoo · 18/10/2015 20:31

Hiya love - no major symptoms really! I'm hungry and craving carbs and do get the teeniest bit nauseous if I let myself get too hungry and I've gone off a few foods I usually eat quite a lot of, I just don't fancy them at all!

Of course I'm exhausted but I have a toddler and a self employed husband that works all the hours and has been away the last week so it's hard to tell what's pregnancy and what's just my life!

No boob symptoms yet but that didn't kick in til more like 8-10 weeks last time.

Got a scan next Saturday when I'll be 7+2.

Glad you're keeping well, you should really join our June group on the antenatal board it's very friendly and everyone is in the same boat!

mascaraisamust · 18/10/2015 20:34

Glad to hear it's going well for you ladies.

Guess it's early days yet Sanch, you'll prob regret saying that in a few weeks Wink
