Short Luteal Phase

So after 6 months of ttc I've worked out I've got a short luteal phase of 9 days, however it could be even less. I get a positive opk on day 19 and 9 days later AF appears. I'm fearing it could be less that 9 days if I ovulate 24-36 hours after a postive opk. No suprises that there hasn't been a bfp yet. I'm thinking this is my obstacle. Seems I've tried everything else. Do I go to my GP? Is there any point? On preconception vitamins with b6 in and have been in them for three months and no changes. Also AF is really painful every month, wondering if there is more to this. Any ideas? Or anyone experienced/ing similar?

Fingers crossed sunshine. As Mrs says you're not out yet. You are 8DPO today? Keep positive. X

sunshinegirl12 · 11/10/2015 21:51

Yes 8dpo today, thanks for your positive words ladies. How are you getting on sunshine? x

Sunshinegirl2015 · 11/10/2015 22:42

I'm fine no symptoms but yet lots of symptoms if you know what I mean? Googling every little thing but know only time will tell. Still hopeful. As DH tells me, one month has to be THE month.

Hope AF stays away for you x

sunshinegirl12 · 12/10/2015 10:51

I'm fairly sure I'm out now, started getting cramps like I usually do before AF arrives. Not sure why I feel so much more disappointed this month than usual. My temp hasnt dropped yet, but I've read for some people it doesn't drop until after AF arrives.

How is everyone else? x

Sunshinegirl2015 · 12/10/2015 12:59

Got a temp rise of 0.17C today - my highest recorded temp this cycle (today is cycle day 27) which I know doesn't mean much but still makes me feel hopeful.

9DPO today and feel fine so this could go either way. Have had the odd twinge which feels like AF but only lasts a few minutes at a time.

DH will be here for my ovulation next month (he managed to change dates so he goes away day after predicted ovulation) so if it doesn't happen this month at least we still have a shot next month.

sunshinegirl12 · 12/10/2015 13:48

Thats good news about next month Sunshine, but from the sounds of it things are looking hopeful for this month alreadySmile

I've started feeling really sick as well, I know its probably too early and is most likely linked to this nasty cold I've got, but I've still got a tiny niggling bit of hope left. Aggghh I hate this all so much, I used to be a sane person!! x

mascaraisamust · 12/10/2015 16:50

Fingers crossed for you guys.

I was an emotional wreck yesterday, feel much better today!

Got my hospital appointment tomorrow x

sunshinegirl12 · 12/10/2015 17:04

Ah glad your feeling a bit better today Mascara. What is the appointment for tomorrow? Will they be doing tests? x

mascaraisamust · 12/10/2015 17:14

I have no idea! It just says gynae appointment, nurse led. Thought I'd go and explore my options/see the difference.

Think my hormones just crashed yesterday! Hopefully I've rebooted and back on track.

This month we aren't 'trying' will be dtd hoping to accidently on purpose get pregnant by coincidenceHmm

Goodluck today Mascara, let us know how you get on.

I woke up today feeling rubbish, got a constant dull pain around my right ovary and feeling really sick, so gave in and did a test, obv BFN. The sickness is prob from my cold, not sure what the pain is but I stupidly googled it and all sorts of awful stuff that it could be came up! Confused

If this isnt my month I'm going to have to take a step back from it all, I'm getting far too obsessed where its all I can focus on and I'm driving myself crazyBlush

Is eveyone else ok? x

Sunshinegirl2015 · 13/10/2015 11:00

Morning. Good luck today mascara. Keep positive sunshine!

This TWW is so long. I'm 10DPO today. FF predicts AF tomorrow.

Only symptom I've had is tiredness. I'm not ill but Sunday I had an afternoon nap after sleeping 12hrs the night before and 10 the night before that and this morning (I have today off) woke up with DH at 06:30 but felt so tired I went back to sleep and just woke up about 10:30?! I never sleep in and even on weekends tend to wake up by 7am.

Still feel tired. wont mind if it's a good sign but if AF arrives I'll be wondering why I've been so tired.

sunshinegirl12 · 13/10/2015 12:41

Sunshine are you going to test tomorrow? I'm due AF tomorrow too x

Sunshinegirl2015 · 13/10/2015 14:55

Not sure I think if temperature drops then maybe not but if temp still high then I might! what about you?

Mascara any news from the gynae?

mascaraisamust · 13/10/2015 17:59

Well the appointment lasted less than ten mins! She told me before I'd even sat down 'this will be quick' and basically said that as I'd got pregnant 8 weeks ago that they'd review in a years time as clearly I'm capable of getting pregnant Confused

I said that one hurdle had been passed getting a bfp but that wasn't my main concern, my luteal phase and progesterone levels being low are. She said that id clearly ovulated the month I got the progesterone level of 1 as I got a bfp from it so didn't see what the issue was. I explained I was spotting and the mc (couldn't this be a progesterone issue)? She then went on to say my second progesterone result (the second one?? I was told it got lost??!!) was 8 and said that I had ovulated (isn't it meant to be 30?), obviously as I got a bfp...

Anyway, said they will recommend the gp to give me cyclogest if I get pregnant again, then changed her mind and said that she would get the consultant to prescribe it and that the prescription will be coming in be post soon.

So I have cyclogest if I get a bfp, on prescription...

The nurse said they wouldn't run any tests or get any bloods done now and to come back in a years time it I'm not pregnant.

However, I've got my blood form from my gp today, so having bloods done tomorrow as recommended by the private consultant...

Sunshines wishing for bfps tomorrow! Fingers crossed x

OP posts:
mrsmugoo · 13/10/2015 18:17

Well that's a small victory anyway mascara, cyclogest is 75p per tablet and it's 2 a day on private prescription!

sunshinegirl12 · 13/10/2015 18:24

Doesn't sound as though she was overly helpful then, thank goodness you've been able to see the private consultant already.

Don't think I'll test tomorrow as the bfn this morning was enough of a disappointment and tbh I think AF is on her way (although im praying that im wrong) x

mascaraisamust · 13/10/2015 18:31

Haha Mrs a small victory indeed! Question is, do I take from ovulation?? Or when I get a bfp? X

OP posts:
mascaraisamust · 13/10/2015 18:34

Sunshine, hoping it stays away x

OP posts:
Sunshinegirl2015 · 13/10/2015 18:56

Oh mascara she sounds like a b*tch. Good luck with the bloods. I know nothing about cyclogest I'm afraid.

Still waiting for the letter with the appointing date with my second ultrasound scan to see if my pelvic fluid has been absorbed by my body or if it's still there.

No sign of AF and don't have any pain yet but today is 10dpo and whilst FF predicts her arrival tomorrow my longest LP was 11days x
