Hi ladies,

Just joined up & wanted to say hi & to see if anyone else in a similar boat to me?

I'm 29 and this is my first cycle off the pill. Currently on day 29th & so far not much is happening. I've been tracking my temp, so far no rise for ovulation. I have been treated for PCOS a few years ago but can't ever remember a normal cycle. I managed to get pregnant but sadly ended in miscarriage at 8 weeks. Went back on the pill not long after. Feeling nervous that my cycles could still be linked to PCOS or is this just down to the pill?

What have other peoples cycles been like when stopped the pill?

Xxx

KyKaye I wanted to see if they differed and they do!
Every day?! Your OH will be delighted I'm sure!
Finding time every other day will be a struggle enough for us. I'm dreading my DH coming home and telling me he's going away with work. He thinks we are 'seeing how it goes' and here I am stocking up on apps and pregnancy tests and reading lots of forums! Next step is to see if I can get him taking zinc hahaha Smile

pteradactyl · 02/06/2015 17:51

Hi All, can I join? I stopped taking nacrez, a mini pill, on 6th April. I had a withdrawal bleed a couple of days later and nothing since. So it's been 8 weeks and a day since I stopped the pill. Hoping it's not too much longer! Have taken tests, even had some evap lines that had me fooled but nope, defo not a preggo eggo

ktkaye · 02/06/2015 18:19

Hi pterodactyl welcome, the more the merrier! You and I are both on 8 weeks no AF no pregegg! It's frustrating isn't it?! Even though is isn't REALLY that long (feels like forever).
Teehee Mrs1986, my oh thinks the same thing! All causal like. Although he does know that I am a raving lunatic because I keep staring at babies in the street.

measles64 · 02/06/2015 18:26

Because of pcos, my doctor would not allow me to go on the pill. I still had problems when trying to conceive which clomid solved when I had not ovulated had a period after six months. Be patient and let your body adjust.

Tamara160 · 02/06/2015 22:42

Evening all! 8 weeks! Wow, it must be driving you mad, fingers crossed it appears for you both soon!

My hubby thinks we're just going to go at it like rabbits and knows nothing about me keeping track of dates etc. I haven't yet succumbed to apps but I have googled looooaaadds of info on TTC! He knows i'm very broody though, he literally had to drag me past the baby items on offer in Aldi at the weekend. Poor guy!

Mrs1986 - maybe you could slip it in his food lol?! I might try that with my other half haha!

KtKaye - Be strong! (Although I know I would be acting exactly the same if I was in your position!)

HannahFlo · 03/06/2015 05:43

Your messages make me giggle!

My other half is exactly the same....he thinks we are just going to see what happens when actually my head is full of dates & I have 3 apps for symptoms & my ovulation days. He also had no idea how to get pregnant & was looking forward to 'early nights' every night. Only when I told him actually how it works & looked rather disappointed Wink

Measles....I had PCOS as well & had my cysts removed then went back on the pill so had no idea what my cycles would be like. My first cycle was 34 days which I'm praying wasn't a flux!! What treatment have you had for yours? Xx

ktkaye · 03/06/2015 12:26

HannahFlo can I ask how you knew/found out you had PCOS? I know a few of the symptoms, a couple of which I have had prior to be and am beginning to ponder asking whether the Dr would consider testing me if in another couple of months AF still hasn't shown? I think I could do with losing a few pounds too as I'm overweight. Not very but not tip top either ... Has anyone else slimmed/improved diet before/whilst TTC?
I hate this. I never imagined I would get so caught up in every bloody symptom, normally a really relaxed person. Cried on oh yesterday Sad. Trying to perk self up and give myself a talking too about not over reacting!!!

measles64 · 03/06/2015 15:03

I was not told until a few years ago, when a Doctor looked back through my notes and said I must have had PCOS when I looked up the symptoms the penny dropped. It was too late for me to have treatment. I might add that after first baby I went on the pill when I came off it I had no problems conceiving twice more. Once at 26 and again at 44.

The symptoms for me were from puberty onwards. I went from being a skinny kid flat chested kid to having to struggle with my weight I started dieting at 14. Other symptoms, excess body hair, no periods for up to six months, then incredibly painful heavy periods, fainting at school. When I did ovulate pain in the spot where my ovaries were. I still get this even though my periods stopped two years ago. Please get treated, I wish I had been around for it.

The plus side to this was perhaps because I had so few periods releasing eggs I did not hit menopause until 55.

Bought the zinc! Let's see what he says. He has recently reminded me that he was born with an undescended testicle! Oh great- another thing for me to worry about!!

KtKaye - I am technically obese :-( I'm hoping if I try to eat healthy and exercise I'd still have a healthy pregnancy!

KtKaye - I am actually technically obese! I am a size 18. Since TTC I have made more of an effort to eat healthily. I am hoping so long as I eat well and excersize often I will still have a healthy pregnancy.

Mrs1986 · 03/06/2015 17:51

Annoying that I got a message saying my first message didn't post, wrote it all out again for nothing!!

HannahFlo · 03/06/2015 18:15

Ktkaye,

I was trying for a baby a few years ago & I had loooong cycles & after a few months of nothing happening we went to the doctors. It was a long process as they wanted to check my partner out first as it's easier to do that. He came back fine so they checked me out. I had some tubes put into my ovaries & they could see the cysts which they then removed in a really painful operation. The doctor said I was lucky as I didn't have any other symptoms. But cut a long story short my relationship broke down so we stopped trying & I went straight back on the pill. So this is my first time really since being off the pill & hopefully the cysts haven't returned xx

In terms of health wise I am for sure thinking about what I'm eating & drinking. I have just completed my first marathon in April (god I just love saying that) so I'm certainly the fitest I've ever been & certainly maintaining that xx

ktkaye · 03/06/2015 19:09

wow HannahFlo that is impressive! I'd have a tshirt made if I was you haha! I can just about manage to lurch around the park near me.
I've decided today (whilst wating a croissant) thatI'm
Going to rejoin weight watchers (have lost weight successfully before with this) good reasons are:
I am comfort eating and this needs to stop!
It will only improve my chances of conceiving
I will definitely get much fatter when preg and don't want to start out overweight!
Also, it's summer and the thought of getting in to a swimsuit as I am makes me be a little bit sick in my mouth.
We're you awake for the op then Hannah??

Mrs1989 I am sure if one is working you'll be ok! Get going with that zinc xx

ktkaye · 03/06/2015 19:12

Ps Hannah I hope I didn't sound flippant re op and miscarriage - sounds awful. Thank you for sharing xx

Mrs1986 · 03/06/2015 19:43

Let's hope the quality of his little swimmers are tip top!
WeightWatchers sounds like a good idea for me too! I have done it before and lost 2 stone!

HannahFlo · 03/06/2015 20:02

No I was asleep but the cysts were fairly big which made the key hole scars bigger. Also the stuff with me air (sounds so silly) but I had a lot of pain afterwards. Anyway 4 years on I am praying it was worth it!

Spent the day hanging out with a friend of a friend & her 3 month old baby girl. I am BROODY!!! EnvyEnvy

Hannahflo i can just imagine your guy sat looking disappointed at how technical and complicated it all is!
KtKaye I'm currently doing slimming world. I'm a bit like you, a few pounds too heavy and not in the best condition so am trying to sort myself out.
How has everyone's day been? X

Tamara160 · 03/06/2015 20:42

Turns out my newsfeed on here didn't refresh so missed all the other parts of the convo.
Hannahflo - it sounds like you had an awful time. Hopefully this time will be much better.

ktkaye · 04/06/2015 12:09

Hello lovely ladies how are you all? Promising myself I will look up weight watchers tonight (as I dive in to a Caesar salad). Tamara I did sw too (veteran of many diets) but I found the concept of having as much of some things as I like too liberating so only lost 7lbs! Weight watchers forces me to have smaller portions. Trouble is me and oh eat out a lot. Looks like that's going to have to slow down. Boo. X

Tamara160 · 04/06/2015 20:12

KtKaye it sounds like you're off to a good start though! Hubby and i like to go out or get a takeaway too (defo our downfall!!) so I know how you feel! Yes, I first thought having as much as I want an odd thing too, but I think i'm starting to get the hang of it! Lost just under half a stone so far, so i'll keep plodding onwards!
Today has been good, dragged a bit though! Think i'm dying for it to be August haha! Good news for me though, it looks as though AF is on its way, only 2 days late. Better late than never I suppose. Isn't it odd that for a while you pray and hope that it will arrive and then a few months later you hope and pray it doesn't show up!

How about the rest of you? Had a good day?

ktkaye · 05/06/2015 07:37

That's great news Tamara - I'm
Jealous though haha! Lovely that you are getting back to normal, roll on August hey! Smile
What is everyone up to at the weekend? Xx

Emilygremily · 05/06/2015 12:39
