Well, I thouht I'd better start this thread as I am CD1 of my 6th cycle of trying for our very precious first baby. This is going to be a lucky and positive thread, I can feel it so I'm laying down the babydust now so that as you join me, you can collect your dose .

For those who join me, what are you doing differently this cycle?

greedy - cycle5 - cd26 ov'd cd25 ( i think) so due to test about 5th dec!

MrsMcSpink! Cycle 6 - CD18, OVd CD15, 3dpo. Af due 2/12. Testing 3/3 Dec if the old hag doesn't pitch up beforehand!

Impatience: Cycle 18 - CD18, OV'd CD13, Af due 4/12, testing 3/12.

Ready: Cycle3 - CD13, potential to OV on CD15. Cycle is normally around 28 days give or take a day. Will not be testing until 5 days after AF fails to arrive

GeekInPigTails: Cycle5 - CD18 too, pretty sure OVd on CD15, so 3dpo today. AF due 4th Dec, so might give in to temptation and join the ladies testing on the 3rd

Flossam: Cycle 3, CD13 think i ov around day 10. 28 day cycle. By my calcs AF dues dec 8th (my birthday!)

Minshu: Cycle 15, CD16, due to ov CD14/15 (i.e. 22/23 Nov - nicely coinciding with DH being away with work ). Cycles 28 to 32 days. Don't normally test as I know when it's coming (6-8 days after boobs get heavy). Will not be buying a test until 10th at earliest...

Kitkat - CD2 - due to ov CD16 or CD18 (and will have a 29 or 32 day cycle depending on which day I ov)

Greedy, am tempted to get really gross with ref to your scooping, but dont want to put off the more fainthearted reading in!

As for perving, I get horny on the run up to ov, which seems evolutionarily sensible, but in my case completely useless! So I put myself forward as a case study where horniness is in no way motivated by a need to marinade myself in babygravy.

Eeks! gotta dash but could really stay on here and have a laugh. If you all lived round the corner (er, maybe you do... ) I'd drag you off out for a pint!

Hi guys, would you mind if i joined you on this thread? i'm 29 years old and this is the first month we have been trying to concieve. Currently on day 18 and think i ov'd on day 14 or 15 but can't be sure! Have a usual 28 day cycle, first day of last period was 6th Nov, so am i correct in saying i should test on the 4th of Dec? - Hope you don't mind me gatecrashing, i've been reading this thread for a bit and have found it very interesting and useful xx

That maths seems to work out to me 20's! My AF was 11th Nov and I am due AF on 8th Dec.

thanks flossam, do you wait until your af is overdue b4 testing? i'm very impatient so doubt i will be able to hang on til then! noticed that you said earlier in this thread that your birthday is on the 8th, remembered that cause mine is on the 9th of Dec - which will make it extra cool if i am preg, but extra rubbish if i have my af that week!!

I will do my best to wait unless I have any extraordinary symptoms which make me go 'ohhhhhh!' 1st cycle I tested early and it was a waste. Last cycle I hadn't come on by lunchtime, wasn't entirely sure when AF would be due and had BFN. This month I think I will wait as if it were to be a BFP it would be a lovely day to get it!

Mirry - we could be in the same boat. After loads of farting about trying to get DH's results, my GP phoned to say that they are now on their way to his GP. As my results have all come back "normal" so far, I think he's beginning to think it's his "fault". However, it's more likely to be because we aren't BDing enough (my fault ). Sorry I can't help, but would be grateful for any advice, too.

Minshu - thank you - and I keep on thinking that it could be down to not enough BDing as well...
I will let you know what happens....I am trying not to think about it but we have a joint appointment when hopefully we will learn all the results at the same time....

I'm seeking some sympathy. A friend told me last night she's trying for her next baby. Her first was conceived first month trying. She's going to be af due about the same time as me, and I'm just sure that she's going to get pg this month (ie, first time again) and I won't. This also happened to me a couple of months ago. I'm starting to feel like a right prat, embarrassed by my stupid body and uncomfortable with the near pity I get from the newly pg person (most ppl know I was trying for our first, and altho' I've kept it quiet again all these months since ds was born this destined-to-be-pg-1st-go friend knows.)

I feel I should just curl up and hide away to avoid all these 'falling' people: Like it's just soooooo easy

Impatience hun - I'm sorry you're feeling crap. I know that little I can say will make you feel better, so here's a huge . I think it's only natural you feel this way - my BF is also TTC and if she falls before me I'll be so pleased for her, but I also feel absolutely gutted that she is and I'm not.

She might not fall as easily this time round - these threads prove that! Loads of mums on here who fell easily but are now finding it harder. Each pg is so different and each person is too. I think it's all a bit of a lottery to be honest... I was watching that fertility prog on BBC1 a couple of nights ago, and the doctor was explaining that what turns a fertilised egg into an embryo is pure voodoo. There is no scientific formula that makes it happen - he said it's like asking someone to roll a 5 on a dice - it might happen but you're as likely to roll a 6 or a 4.

I'm rambling now! I think what I'm trying to say is that even though we're struggling to get pg, it's not because there's something wrong with us, or because we're not doing something right or often enough etc. It's just nature taking it's time...

Morning Ladies Happy Friday! not much to report today on the TTC front, CD19 and 4dpo, woke up with a sharp but slight pain just below right hip bone, keeps coming back. Lots to report otherwise, went to visit DH last night, he was groggy but doing well, no nausea or anything. Hope he comes home tomorrow. Think I should resign today playing it by ear - wish me luck!

Impatience - yes you are the perfect test case for horniness v desire for babygravy. Sending you big hugs, we all know how you feel about the mixed feelings you get when someone we know is TTC and gets their BFP. Just remember, that's her baby and her pregnancy and they are not linked in anyway to yours, you want your own, not hers and BFPs are not in limited supply. That thought seems to make me feel better

Sideways - good luck this cycle. When is AF due/are you testing?

Welcome 20smum - 4/12 sounds fine to me. You will be in good company testing that day with Becca. Impatience, Geek and I are planning to test on 3/12 - if the wicked witch stays away.

No Flossam - your AF isn't due on your birthday, your BFP is!

CD14 today. And I have had this overwhelming feeling today, and I can't explain it. It's almost as if I am in a panic that we haven't made a baby again this month. It's a very strange feeling.

Sending hugs to Impaitience too..... know how you feel hun, I have new nephew aged 3 months plus proud parents coming to stay for the weekend. Really looking forward to seeing them and he is gorgeous, but there is a small part of me that will be quite a poisonous shade of green....

MrsMc glad hubby is okay and hope he comes home to you soon. I handed in my notice fairly recently its quite a rushkind of strange to do something i had imagined in my head many times!

Certainly better than being born on Christmas Day!! I am 29/12 and it's pretty crap!
