Well, I thouht I'd better start this thread as I am CD1 of my 6th cycle of trying for our very precious first baby. This is going to be a lucky and positive thread, I can feel it so I'm laying down the babydust now so that as you join me, you can collect your dose .

For those who join me, what are you doing differently this cycle?

OP posts:
MrsMcJnr · 20/11/2006 15:58

Geek, I have that softare too. You should join us on the Chart spotting thread!

I used to check my CP but this cycle have decided to stop. My reasoning being that it might not be good to keep poking my cervix and that I might be interfering with any CM that is meant to be up there (or wasting it). So, I've stopped. Also it changes position throughout the day so I decided it wasn't worth the effort.

As long as you are checking your CM in the same place each day, then you can see a progression and it's fine. It is quality not quantity too remember and you only record the most fertile CM that you have in a day. Some people don't get EWCM, for some the creamy, lotioney stuff is the best they get or they get watery CM instead. If you are worried about your quality of CM, drinking grapefruit juice and taking Evening Primrose oil before you OV can help (it's helped me for sure) plus, you could try pre-seed which is a sperm friendly lubricant that can take on the qualities of EWCM in that sperm can swim in it. You can buy it from accessdiagnostics.com. Hope that helps, it's not gross in my opinion but fascinating!

GeekInPigTails · 20/11/2006 16:18

Thanks MMJ. I installed the trial of this software after reading your recommendation on the November thread!

The thing about only recording the most fertile CM in the day is a useful tip - I did wonder what to do on days when it was in fits and starts! The weird thing is that for a couple of days after AF finished it was fairly lotioney, but then dried up a bit after that and still doesn't seem as wet as it was those days! It's the wrong way round surely!

I do laugh at myself a bit when I'm being squeamish about stuff like this - I'm sure it'll all change when I've got a little baby pooing and puking everywhere, but I'll deal with that when I get there! Thank goodness I can ask these questions on mumsnet anyway!

Impatience · 20/11/2006 16:22

Thanks for the kind words Mrs and Geek. I have cancelled tonight and shall be taking it easy instead.

Geek, in what way is your cm not egg-whitey? If it's more watery than you're expecting I think that's supposed to be the ultra-fertile cm. However, I'm prepared to be corrected because I really couldn't remember on which of the millions of sites I've looked at told me this!

Don't go poking around if you're not happy with that. If you find some on the outside there will be a lot more inside where it's supposed to be, so leave it there

Impatience · 20/11/2006 16:23

And Geek, I think childbirth will get you over any squeamish tendencies!

GeekInPigTails · 20/11/2006 17:09

Yep, fair point about child birth!

No it's not watery, different in the other direction - thick and sticky. But a little bit of superficial poking around just now makes me think it is actually more lotioney than I had thought, so maybe I'll put my paranoia away again and stop bothering you all!

1n2s · 20/11/2006 17:43

Has anyone found a difference to their CM by taking EPO and grapefriut juice? I've started this the last month and I can't say I've noticed any difference, must admit I'm only doing a spot of adhoc knicker checking around ovulation, nothing more than that. Is there any evidence to suggest that taking EPO all the way through your cycle is a problem? I've been taking Omega3 with EPO for mums to be - I'm guessing this is safe

Hope you enjoy your relaxing night in Impatience, you deserve a break. The whole process can get emotionally draining sometimes

Tor14 · 20/11/2006 18:46

Flossom - Sorry it's taken so long computer has been playing up. It's the 15th Dec so lets hope it's a happy birthday for us

greedyguzzler · 20/11/2006 19:50

mrsmcjnr.....my temps have been 36.4 or 36.3 for the past 23 days. pretty consistent really. not looking good is it? it normally goes up to 36.6 after ov. looks like i wont be ovulating this month which is soooooooooooooooooooooo annoying! i feel like my whole life is on hold at the moment and i hate feeling like this, its horrible isnt it? is it normal to have the odd annovulatory month? you seem to know your stuff so i thought you would prob know

hello hello hello everyone!

ready.........i sky+d 2nd episode of lost too! so i will be watching it later on tonight too, with my legs in the air and a pillow under my bum after a good BDing session! how confusing was it last night by the way?......what IS going on? I LOVE IT!!!!!!!

Impatience · 20/11/2006 20:05

Hi GreedyGuzzler. Yes, it's entirely normal to have an anovulatory month every now and then. It's annoying, but it doesn't mean anything bad. Keep your chin (and legs) up

Flossam · 21/11/2006 09:34

Hello everyone.

I'm still not doing anything fancy other than trying to get DP behave! To be honest if we were to concieve this month it would be something close to a miricle with all the drinking DP has been doing of late. He had his brother down, and blokes doing what blokes do. I had a word with him about it night before last and asked him if it was because he didn't want me to concieve . He was a bit horrified tbh and said that wasn't it at all. He is going to cut it down to a more reasonable level. He said it has been a tough year for him to and he does tend to turn to the drink a bit, which is worrying but at least he acknowledged it was too much and plans to alter it. He seems much more positive about all this TTC than he was, it is now nearer the time when he wanted to try (xmas) so I hope he stays this way. We have BD on days 7,8,9 and 10 and I think I seem to have OV already. Didn't have such clear signs last month. Will carry on untill the weekend although maybe at a slightly slower pace...

Feeling quite chilled about it all. Feel as though luck is changing, and looking forward to birthday, xmas and a fresh new year.

Impatience, hope you are feeling ok now and fingers crossed you were successful this month.

MMJ - men are never as organised are they? To be fair he won't know for definate will he. I hope he has a short but comfortable stay and as others have said, it isn't too bad timing wise really - and you do sound very positive. Will be thinking of you.

Tor - yes fingers crossed for just a couple of lines for our B days!!

Ready - glad you are feeling better.

Good luck to everyone.

MrsMcJnr · 21/11/2006 10:04

Morning all! well, it appears that my wish came true and I might have OVd earlier than expected. My temps took a hike up over my coverline this morning and I have been getting cramps and EWCM (yeah! ) for a couple of days now, fingers crossed that this is our lucky month!

Geek - CM can be confusing, mine is definatley confused! I am quite chuffed though as - TMI alert- this cycle for the first time I have had EWCM with the spink of at least 5 inches!!! wonder if Toni wants a new photo for her book - sorry, that was a bit gross!

So yes, 1n2s, the grapefruit juice and EPO seem to have helped me considerably. Maybe it is just my body getting better at this itself but I do think those 2 things helped me. EPO, in the quatities that help CM, can cause uterine contractions and are therefore not a good idea after OV but if they are in a pre natal vit, I am sure they are fine as the quantities won't be so high.

Impatience - glad you got the chance to chill last night. Everything crossed for you

Greedy - I think it is as common as 1/5 cycles to have an annovulatory one, complete pain but it does sound like that's what's happened . Lost is great isn't it? so glad it's back! are you a Sawyer or a Jack fan? What the hell is that village all about then?

Flossam - you sound like you are in a great place, good for you. You have done so well on the BDing stakes too, very . Your DH's drinking won't effect the sperm you receive now but the ones his body is producing which will be the ones he "uses" in 3 months time - hopefully, you won't need them then! Glad to hear he is as committed to the TTC cause as you are, that must really help your state of mind. .

Feeling a bit wobbly about DH. He does not know if he needs to go into hospital tonight or tomorrow so when I left for work this morning, I did not know if I'd see him again before the op, feel a bit tearful, thank goodness he can't see me.

MrsMC I am sending a big brave hug
It must be very hard.

Uki · 21/11/2006 10:25

Hi everyone
Haven't been around much, so busy on here though.
We all happily getting on with it all.

I guess some of you must be nearing the 2ww. So sending lots of

;;...-..;',;.;';.;,.;'.;'.;;.;;'.,.,',;,.,;,.
.,;;,.,',.,',.,',.
.,',/;,'..;,',.,;,,,.;',.,;,.,;,., to you all

Ready · 21/11/2006 10:26

Ready in the Sawyer camp please

Mirry71 - You clearly deserve a BFP this month!! Fingers crossed for you.

Impatience - Delayed hug for yesterday's anxiety, good decision to take a rest. One go can be enough you know!!

Geekinpigtails - LOL at your squeamishness. That will be knocked out of you when all the student doctors and midwives and consultants are peering at your lady parts, so I'm told!

Greedy - Still haven't managed to watch Lost. It's almost OV time, so had other activities to be doing

Flossam - Gld your strong word with DP seems to have made him realise he needs to cut down. And boy have you been going for it! Do you OV early as a rule then?

MrsMc - Big hug for you and DH. It's awful, one of the worst days of my life when DH had a general anaesthetic.
WOOO HOOOO on OV early. The power of the mind hey!! Fingers and toes and anything I can, crossed for you!! Oh and what the devil is a spink ??

Howdee everyone else. Hope you are having a great month. Can't wait for the first December BFP... who is up first???

pinkranger · 21/11/2006 10:37

Hi everyone , hope that you are all o.k , not much is happening here i have the most awful Af this month, never had anything like it befor with stomach cramps and the amount of blood loss but it is easing off now so bding will comence soon!! CD 6 for me at the mo.

good luck to everyone it seems we all are giving it our al this month.

Mrsmc - hope your DH op goes well xx

MrsMcJnr · 21/11/2006 10:50

Thanks ladies, your support really helps DH just called to say that the hospital now want him in at 8am on Thurs morning instead. I'm a nervous wreck, anyway, means that if I haven't OV yet or even if I have, we have more chances!

Ready - me too, Sawyer camp, yum yum! I do believe that "Spink" is the technical name for the length that your EWCM can stretch to without snapping - god, I am SO sad, really embarrassed now that I even mentioned that .

Pinkranger - feel for you, I was like that this cycle too. In fact, I have had pains and cramps all cycle, not sure if that is a good thing and beginning to worry about it. If AF turns up, think I'll go and speak to the Dr in case it is something sinister (reading too much about pelvic inflammatory diseases etc, scaring me!).

OP posts:
Mirry71 · 21/11/2006 10:51

Thanks Ready....! And a big hug too to Mrs McJnr

Flossam I am exhausted from reading your post! Cant believe your schedule...7, 8 ,9 and 10....think I would have collapsed exhausted by then!!

Urgh I HATE grapefruit juice - am gritting my teeth as I drink it

Ready · 21/11/2006 11:00

This month's SPINK award goes to MrsMcJnr - and your prize is an evening with Sawyer...Sunday at 10pm SkyONE.

PMSL - I know exactly what you mean now and 5 inches is pretty impressive

MrsMcJnr · 21/11/2006 11:31

ohhhhhh Ready, REALLY liking the sound of that prize! I'll be home alone too and definatley out of the fertile phase - terrible hussy aren't I!!

Mirry71 - try a shot of wheatgrass with it I like grapefruit juice but the wheatgrass is not the best (meant to help produce a good alkaline environment, best for conception!) You could mix the grapefruit with orange juice or something, it'll still have the same effect.

Update on DH - not going into hospital until Thurs morning now so have a few more BDing chances plus more cuddles with my big bear

OP posts:
Impatience · 21/11/2006 11:33

MrsMcJnr, 5inches!! My goodness!

Good luck with MrMcJ's op - I hope it all goes well, I wish him a speedy recovery, and I hope you can manage your stress/worry/fear/upset. Congrats on your early ov. That and your impressive excretions look like a good omen for this month!

I am now officially in the two week wait. It stinks! My temp went up this morning, but I'm pretty certain I ov'd on Sat. It typically takes a few days for temp to go up. Anyone know whether this is anything to worry about? Should be testing in 13 days - af due on the Monday.

Gulp... I hate these 2 week waits - nasty! I wish I could just send a little camera in there to tell me whether I had a fertilised egg, in which case I'd take lots of care of myself, or not, in which case I'd hit the beer! Instead I bounce back and forth between the two...

Ready · 21/11/2006 12:36

Impatience... check out our thread for things to do in the 2ww!!!

Impatience · 21/11/2006 12:57

Yes, I'm hoping it will help me, and has so much so far. (Did I say that already...?)
