Hi Everyone,

I am a new sign up to mumsnet. DH and I (yes I have started using the lingo) have decided to start trying next cycle round. I have been tracking my cycles for a year and the are pretty accurate i.e symptoms match etc. Looking to chat to others in the same boat! Ovulating in 3 weeks and very excited to begin the journey!!!
26 years old, living in Edinburgh, CD21 (Missed Aprils ovulation as I want a spring baby is that bad?) First time trying :)

Thanks dreaming you're right.

lookingforadvice I've been doing the exact same thing. Symptom spotting is going to drive me crazy! I had a really bad stomach pain Saturday night and was convinced that was implantation until I read it takes six days! What a novice Smile

Since Sept ny cycle has varied from 23 days to 32 but my average is now back up to 28 and have been at 28 days for the past couple of months

Hi wishiwaspregnant I'm pretty sure we are all newbies here. Hence why we have basically started our own thread. We are happily finding our way in the dark.

dreaming I was thinking about what you said about your siblings. Would t it be exciting for your babe to have cousins of similar ages!! I also hope I'll get pregnant first month of trying. I hope I don't get too disheartened when it doesn't happen as quickly as I've hoped!

Chelle, I know it would be amazing, but to be honest I haven't given it much thought yet as only got enough brain space to overthink the planning of everything! Lol! My older sister has a 5yr old and 2yr old twins (via IVF) and they will be amazing cousins.

Was thinking a lot last night and I am definitely overthinking the whole process too much this early on. I think as I have seen my older sister go through her own fertility issues I'm assuming the worst but still thinking it will happen for us first cycle...that sounds weird but that's what is going on in my head!!

We should update on here how we're getting on as I know either way it will give me some support and hope my story helps you too.

For that reason, when I do take delivery of the OPK's I ordered I'm not going to use them (for at least the first few months), that way it can be less stressful. Will just continue to use my apps. I have the 'My Calendar' and 'Ovia' app at the moment to see which I prefer long term.

wishiwaspregnant, from the reading and youtube videos I have watched I think the later you leave it the more accurate it is and will save you the unsure result so early on. I have decided to hide the pregnancy tests until the day AF is due so that I am not stressing myself out. Let's see how many cycles that lasts, lol!!!

Hi ladies, this is the ideal thread I've been looking for (after being a mumsnet stalker for a few months - hopefully not as creepy as it sounds!)

My partner and I have been together for eight years and are getting married at the end of June. I came off the pill in February after being on it for over 10 years and haven't had a period after my withdrawal bleed (one day with tiny bit of spotting but doubt that can count!) not sure if that means I'm ovulating or not yet.

I am so obscenely broody (had it been up to me we would have had one by now!) so at the start of this month we stopped trying to not get pregnant, if that makes sense, just having unprotected sex and seeing what happens. I am such a stress head I know I will put too much pressure on us if I say we will start trying properly as soon as we're married. Although knowing my luck I'll get pregnant straight away and have a massive belly in my wedding dress! Gosh it's easy to overthink these things!

Anyway I think that means technically we're trying so would be lovely to have people to share it with and chat to when I'm going out my mind!

Xx

Someone today asked when I was due. I know I've put on a few pounds and I was desperate for the loo but my goodness that was a bit depressing.

As I was in a remarkably good mood, I went with "not for a long time" rather than a withering look to end all withering looks.

But it might be not such a bad plan to go on a bit of a diet....

pedantictuna according to my doctor, I have to keep the weight down as it helps to conceive. I can't work out if she was telling me to lose weight or not!! Haha

On a side note, my boobs are so incredibly sore. I'm using that to become evermore hopeful!! Not testing for another week and a half!! Longest week and a half in history!!

dreaming good idea to hide those bits!

Chelle - fingers crossed, you'll have to update us when you find out.

I am only at cycle day 3 and I'm already driving myself crazy!!! We've not even got to the fun stuff yet and I'm already getting obsessed with it all!! Did / does anyone else feel like this?

I just hope when it gets to my fertility window I can relax as I really don't want to put unnecessary stress on the hubby either.

I know this is crazy but I've already planned how I'm going to tell my hubby we're pregnant! It's all I think about at the moment....hoping someone will say it gets easier, lol!! Grin

This is where I would probably speak to my older sister and she'd tell me to get a grip!! Lol! The idea of keeping it a secret is now not looking so appealing to be honest. But it is something hubby and I agree on that we don't want people to know whilst we're trying.

Eeeeekkk!!!! Sad

Hey ladies!
Can I join in?
It's our first cycle ttc #2 and I got a positive opk today, which is exciting as I'm still bf DD and cycles are all over the place.

I'm 24 and based in south Wales like a previous poster :)

Welcome toastie

Chelle I'm going to buy a Liverpool onsie (seen one in Mothercare) and going to put it in a gift bag and give him that with the pg test as well.

Surely, its not normal to be thinking about it all the time?

I travel quite a bit for work but got confirmed today that I'm local next week and won't have to stay away which is great as baby making officially starts next weekend. Just hoping I can manage my diary going into the next couple of months (if needed, fingers crossed I won't).

Welcome to all other newbie's!! Smile

Another jumping on the thread.

Decided September to ttc, stopped depo and crossed fingers. Nothing happened - no AF, no lines on opk's, no bfp. As over 40 only have to wait 6 months before they start investigating.

Had bloods done last month and, apart from a low testosterone level, all were normal. Waiting to see gp in 2 weeks time to discuss resilts and plan for moving forward.

Then, 2 weeks ago (a week after blood tests), had first natural visit from AF. This week got clear lines on opk so been practicing and joined the 2ww bus!! Will start testing 2 days before my appointment as that will be cycle day 28 so (potentially) my AF due day!!

Bit more about us. I'm 43, no kids but 2 previous pregnancies (1 in my 20's and another in my 30's). DP is 46 has grown up children from previous marriage and a granddaughter but we are hoping for our own family.

dreaming no you're not crackers! I'm exactly the same! I've got all these ideas about how to tell Hubby! Plus I've even got a few baby items (I bought for other ppl but couldn't bear to part with) no big items but a few grows, vests... Plus I have lined up a bugaboo (I'm obsessed with these) and am often spotted in the baby section when out shopping... Eying up all the cute clothes! So if you think you're mad, think of me! That's gotta make you feel better! Lol x

Wish,

I went to The Baby Show a few weeks ago and couldn't resist buying 'a few bits and pieces' (well, that's what I told DP) I've got starter sets for breast or bottle feeding (hedging my bets as I'll be doing one or the other), even bought a weaning starter set because all together they came to less than the breast feeding set would normally cost!!

I have friends who have said they've got x,y & z I can have if I ever need it - and being part of an extended family with babies of all ages I'm sure there will be lots of things passed on!!

Hi ladies, can I join please. Came off the pill in December had a couple of regular cycles (37 days) then last month a 52 day cycle which really stumped me anyway AF showed up yesterday so going to start TTC now. Have bought some of the ovulations sticks from Amazon, how are people finding them?

Report
Rememberallball · 16/04/2015 17:10

Hi Rose,

At first I wasn't sure as I never got more than a feint line appear at the 10 minutes limit. Then, at the weekend, I realised the lines were getting darker and by Tuesday I had the elusive incidence of both lines being the same depth of colour.

I've now started my first 2WW!!

Hello everyone!

Please can I join? Ttc #1 month 1!

I'm 16dpo and lots of BFNs and no sign of AF - so not the most straightforward first month!

When is everyone due to poas?

How do I stand a chance of conceiving when I don't know my most fertilie days? My daughter wasn't planned as I didn't think I could have children :D been married 2 years this year x

Hi everyone! Grin

Can I join? ttc #1, cycle 1. Age 31(until next month). I thought I was out this month as swore I had ovulation pains about 3 weeks ago even though opk was neg and then I kinda gave up. Had the same ovulation pain today, took a opk when I got in from work and it was positive...on CD46! So made a call to DP to hurry back from the gym Wink. I will probably dtd again tomorrow (a couple of times) and then I guess I will be in my first tww. Smile
