Hi Everyone,

I am a new sign up to mumsnet. DH and I (yes I have started using the lingo) have decided to start trying next cycle round. I have been tracking my cycles for a year and the are pretty accurate i.e symptoms match etc. Looking to chat to others in the same boat! Ovulating in 3 weeks and very excited to begin the journey!!!
26 years old, living in Edinburgh, CD21 (Missed Aprils ovulation as I want a spring baby is that bad?) First time trying :)

Hi rehomedcity - good to know your on the same stage as me !
Question though - how often does everyone do an ovulation test ? I track my cycle on an app and apparently this week is my fertile week so I've been doing a test everyday , at the start of the week I had a very faint positive line which apparently means negative unless it's darker but last two days nothing at all - have I missed it ? Should I be testing every day ? Confused.com ! Sorry if this is all basic stuff but I've tried googling and get different answers ! Also sorry for the lack of acronyms - I'm a newbie ! :)

Hi there cearstaidh - course you can join! Welcome! good luck!

Stripes - that is exactly where we are too! Really going for it this month, whereas the last few months have felt a bit half-hearted shagging-wise...

Chelle - eeeek so exciting about your wedding...and if you get pg now, at least you will be able to fit in your dress!!!

Nothing happening for me yet , although this is the first cycle we are properly ttc rather than just seeing what happens and now I've started tracking I think i was completely off before ! Good luck to everyone else :)

Can I join the party??? Just stopped the pill and currently just not trying not to get pregnant, rather than TTC, and letting my hormones settle without being on the pill. I'm currently on Setraline for depression/anxiety, the doctor said I needed to get myself sorted before trying, but we both want it so much, and have been broody for years. I'm back at the doctor next month to talk about coming off/reducing the drugs, but if we "accidentally" get pregnant this month I won't be disappointed. Based in East Lothian, age 26, married for 18 months.

None from me. We paused TTC with the wedding planning. We are now 4 months from the wedding so have started again. POAS on saturday as AF is due then!

Still trying!! Trying for July has now begun, and with added urgency as really don't want my period to come on holiday (and obvs wouldn't mind the baby too). Though whether or not we actually have a holiday is up in the air....Greece was such a good idea at the time!! Any pregnancies???

rememerall wow that's a lot later than my app is telling me, mine is telling me to test in 2 days which is when AF is due to arrive... I have so far resisted and then in the night really wanted to test, but fell asleep telling myself I would this morning, but I forgot! But I am thinking it would maybe show now? But I don't want to test and be disappointed... argh, I don't know! I totally don't expect anything to happen the first month trying anyway, but it would be nice :)

Hello, could I join in too? We recently decided to start to TTC #1! I haven't ovulated yet, think that should happen this weekend.

How early does everyone usually test? From what I've read on this thread, seems like there's quite a lot of willpower! I'm very impatient so can imagine myself testing at 6DPO, which is surely a recipe for disappointment...

Hi Rehomed, I'm having bloods done because in the ones I had done in March (after 6 months ttc) all the results were in the right range for luteal phase of my cycle except for progesterone which was pre ov levels and indicative of my not ovulating that month - which matches with my opk results which didn't show anything. My GP wants a repeat level on d21 to confirm what it is on a month when I have ov'd.

I've decided my body feels totally normal whereas, last month, I had really tender breasts, nausea and exhaustion but this month apart from a headache after 2 glasses of red wine everything is where it should be doing what it should do!!

I've started using the fertility friend app and it's giving me next Friday (20dpo!!) as the earliest I should poas so I'd better learn some patience as I tthought this weekend would be a good time to test!!

Hi!! Can I join too! This is our first cycle ttc, great seeing a few on here get their bfps! Not sure we're going to time things right this month, think I've worn him out already and now I have ewcm... Agh! Will try and jump on him again later!! Going to start using cb monitor next cycle to give us a better idea as my cycles are between 28-33 days...

bourbondreams · 11/05/2015 09:45

how is everyone doing? I feel like nothing has happened, today I just feel normal - well at the moment anyway. So I am thinking it didn't happen and that the other signs were just endo playing up, but I have no clue! What happens happens hey?

I have til Thursday til I should test, but been thinking about trying any day between now and then... but not sure if it's worth it just in case I get a BFN...

Anyone else had any BFP? Keeping FX for us all

Hi guys! So happy to hear about Chips and Charms... I am getting back on the horse (so to speak!) and gearing up for month #2 of TTC. Which began slightly sooner than expected this morning - using the clear blue digital ovulation stick test things. And you are meant to get flashing smiley face first, which is "high fertility", before non-flashing smiley face, which is peak fertility. well. I clearly and rather unexpectedly jumped straight to "peak fertility" and had to jump on my DH this morning instead of voting!!

He is off golfing this weekend, so will have an early start tomorrow morning too I hate early starts and would rather sleep!

Remember - good luck! are you having you bloods done just as a check up as you have started TTC? Also, lets hope your body is feeling different for a reason!

Bourbon - fingers crossed for you too.

Morning all. Well, we're on our tww (currently 5/6 dpo - can't remember which day was +ve on opk but was very early in cycle) Based on last cycle of 25 days with lp of 13 days, AF would be due next saturday - 16th. Am booked for d21 bloods on the 14th.

Body feels so different to last month with no obvious symptoms. We will see!!

Just gettingn to catch up!

rememberall keeping fx.

charms that's great news :)

For me nothung happening really. On my tww I think now. Well according to my app. But without knowing how long cycle really is I have no idea. Although I've had some pain today and almost threw up a little while ago. But not sure if that's overindulgence over the weekend or anything else... Will just wait and see and try not to POAS until the app says it's the time to try if AF doesn't appear... As I'm on cd18 and it says 11 days til POAS. Hmm.

Looking forward to hearing news from everyone else how getting on :)

congrats charms some very quick bfp's on here!

remeberall fx for you, sounds like you have some OV issues. They've never yet managed to pinpoint my OV hormones on a blood test at day 7, 14 or 21. or even day 49 either once.

think i'm moving towards Ov-ing, change in fluid this morning so hoping it will be this week.

Saw GP this morning and the blood test I thought might be an issue (testosterone) is low but doesn't affect fertility for a woman. However, my progesterone level is at a follicular phase level on D21 instead of a luteal phase level so he is concerned about that. DP has to be checked out to make sure he's performing and I've to go back for repeat blood test in 2 weeks time on d21.

Depending on the results they'll refer me to gynae specialist. My however is that, in March, I didn't get +ve opk and bloods were done 7 days pre-AF. This month I had +ve opk on cd14 or thereabouts and AF 11days later. Am starting opks this evening after work!! Fx please!!
