Hi all ... We had a thread for Jan BFPs but it seems full?! Thought I would start the second thread.. No idea if this will work as haven't done it before so here's hoping I see you all here!!

Sparkly. Thank you for the welcome. Yeah I think I am having one of those days and I'm feeling scared/excited/nervous etc.. also it's good to chat to people who are going through the same thing. I have lots of lovely friends but I want to keep this under-wraps until we've conceived and we are past 12 week or a least 8 week marker.

Only our second cycle of ttc! AF due today, but no sign, did a frer this morning but BFN. I know I'm not out til the red lady sings, but it's so frustrating!

I feel really different this month, I've had really watery CM since ovulation and have had allsorts if weird stretches and feelings in my belly. Also had a huge appetite the last few days which is not like me at all!

Shall try to remain positive and test again in the am!

yep only a hole when ovulating to let the sperm in. other times it moves upwards and closes. I saw this last night and it really helped me 'see' things.

thanks FTL - Have always wondered about AI. Wondering if laying back with a pillow under my hips was worth it... lol. How it gets there is irrelevant if it works eh! Dojo I'm the same, I feel like half my friends are expecting it as we got married in June, but I don't want to talk about it so not to jinx it or get upset about it.

Nervous. I think you hit the nail on the head. If we don't get pregnant for a while, I know my husband and I will be disappointed enough without having other peoples expectations and hopes dashed too.

Dojo and Nervous same here. Don't want to tell anyone. Especially as all my friends seem to have got lucky on cycle 1! It's a roller-coaster! But it WILL happen, just got to be positive and patient I guess.. Which isn't easy!

Doctor huge congrats on BFP! January is a lucky month!!

Can I ask everyone a question? When we were given at home AI things from fertility clinic they said they would expect it to happen within 6 months. I had a wee google online and averages seem to show that 30%get pregnant within the first cycle, 59 percent get pregnant within three cycles and 80 percent get pregnant within six cycles. I thought these were pretty high odds! I hope you all don't mind me posting that just thought it was quite interesting, however not sure how realistic!

Hello people, I'm trying to ration my visits here so as not to obsess. I'm half way through the 2ww not that I'm counting and doing all I can to distract myself. I'm on cycle 1 so think it's v unlikely anyway, I keep thinking I'm doing it wrong and we used lube once or twice and I didn't realise that was a no no. DH keeps saying we are having fun (we are) and we can keep trying . Congrats on the BFP Doctor.

Sparkly, I have no idea how it works. I do know that of my friends that are lesbians using donors, they have had a high success rate and quickly.

Stoatystoat. We didn't know about the lube thing initially either so hoping it hasn't effected our chances.

Stoaty those stats were not for AI success it was actually for general TTC. Thanks for the positive stories from your friends. You could be one of the lucky cycle one BFPers!! Fingers crossed! There are fertility lubricants preseed and conceive plus you could use that are sperm friendly, did you know about these?

I'm in two minds dojo - I know my 21 year old self wouldn't have relied on lube as contraception! But now I know it might play a role, I won't use that again, unless it's a special one anyway. If I need lube sometimes, then so be it. Me being uncomfortable is definitely not going to speed up the process, the swimmers can be going as quickly as they want, but I won't let them in if I'm not relaxed!

Cross posts, I have just learned about them. They are hard to find it Boots though, but I know I'm not looking for lube but fertility gel. I find that whole section hard work. Not enough distinction between DON'T WANT A BABY/REALLY WANT A BABY and the Clear Blue's should be the buffer!!!

Stats are awful, aren't they? They can give so much hope and yet, if you are one of the minority who takes years to get pregnant it can be very, very tough. The fact is that 80% of couples in their twenties and early thirties will fall pregnant within the first year of trying. The rest can expect to be pregnant within two years (that is assuming both partners are fertile). There is still a percentage of couples, though, who will not fall pregnant within the two years.

I don't want to discourage any of you - on the contrary, anyone here in their twenties (jammy bastards) or early-to-mid-thirties will be likely to become pregnant within a year. A year feels excruciatingly long, I know (I tried for fourteen months after my mmc before resorting to IVF), but I started TTC when I was almost 41

You all have lots and lots to look forward to. I am so !

P.s remember that stats relate to the average couple, not those who are sexing at the exact right time, using OPKs, taking supplements and watching CM or charting. They get pregnant quicker than t'others, obvs.

32, TTC #1, Cycle 1, BFP due 28 Jan,

Very confused - CD9 and had AF like cramps yesterday and today, plus what I can only describe as ewcm (I hardly ever get this) so thought I must be OVing earlier than usual... But just tested and nope, blank circle on my cbfm.
I'm not even meant to be using opks this cycle, it's only that I thought it was too early! What are these pains?!
I double checked I'm not pg too, so it's not that (I wasn't meant to PO any S and now I've peed on 2 types!) xx
