Well I'm just waiting for AF to show up and the timings mean I miss January all together. Anyone out there who would like to join me in trying for a BFP in February? :)

CoffeeTwo, 31, ttc #2, cycle 6, BFP due 10th February.

I drank a lot over Christmas but don't normally. Just a few glasses of wine a week but I've cut it out now too. Will only drink on occasions if we haven't caught yet but not at home. Trying really hard to get my 5 a day. And getting much better at remembering my folic acid.

I asked earlier but no one got back to me. Could someone please explain temping to me?

TeenieDeenie · 15/01/2015 21:27

Hi ladies! Just checking in with you all... Still no stats as awaiting AF in the wtf cycle after an mmc. MC was 4 weeks ago tomorrow. Nipples are a bit sore today which usually happens around ovulation time so fingers crossed AF arrives over the weekend or early next week so I can start charting and trying again.

crazypuglady · 15/01/2015 21:32

I've just started temping mummy to be sure that I'm actually oving after so long on the pill.

Some one more experienced will correct me if I'm wrong but basically you take your temperature every morning when you wake up. The day after ovulation you should see a temp rise of around half a degree and it should stay at that until just before your period when it should drop again. The spike followed by high temp confirms that ovulation has happened and (afaik) is the only way to confirm ov.

mummyofonesofar · 15/01/2015 21:40

And what if you've fallen pregnant? Sorry to sound dim cycle 1 here!

crazypuglady · 15/01/2015 21:44

From what I've read your temperature stays high until the umbilical chord is developed.

Twinkletoes007 · 15/01/2015 22:04

Hi ladies, can I join? Am new to this - excited but quite nervous too! Hoping this is a lucky bus for us all.

On CD2 snooooooooooze. Think I ovulate around CD16 but DH is away with work CD16-18 so not expecting much to happen this month.

Twinkletoes, 31, ttc #1, cycle 1, BFP due 11th February.

Rainy34 · 15/01/2015 22:06

Glittery - the last year i have cut down a lot but over christmas i drank a lot of wine, i have been reading that alcohol is bad for fertility so i am going to cut it out altogether, i dont miss it at all, and hoping i will loose a few pounds too

jss84 · 15/01/2015 23:05

Mummy - yep that's how I understood it too...take your temp every morning before you get out of bed and look for the spike in temp. You can only really tell you've ovulated after it's happened, but it's a good way of working out when you ovulate over a few cycles.

BabyBumpHopeful · 16/01/2015 00:38

Here's the new seating plan :) Welcome to all our new passengers!

2WW begins today for anyone due for BFP on Jan 29. Anyone have any special ways to pretend that's not the case?

Mummy, crazy is right.

Take your temp as soon as you wake up (preferable at the same time every day) and you should see a temp rise if you have ovulated. For me the rise happens 1-2 days after ov. I'd recommend the ff app, at least for the first cycle as you get a free trial of the advanced app which is really good. After the trials over the basic one isn't so great. Good luck! X

loopylou1984 · 16/01/2015 06:54

Oh, and if you're pg your temp will stay up, or maybe even rise slightly higher Smile

mummyofonesofar · 16/01/2015 07:25

That's guys! Will start tracking to backup what ovia is saying Smile

accidentaldancer · 16/01/2015 07:46

ibk - Happy Birthday! Hope you have a lovely day. I've decided to go away for the weekend at the end of Jan to celebrate mine - hopefully will distract me from the tww!

CD6 here so getting ready to start dtd. I got a smiley on CB surprisingly early last month so will start using it from tomorrow and I am going to start temping so any advice would be great.

Hope you all have a happy Friday.

QueenofKelsingra · 16/01/2015 08:25

Happy birthday ibk

so I think I'm on to the tww now. managed to coerce DH last night so we have done all we can. might try dtd again tomorrow just to be sure but by then I should definitely have OV'd.

had a slight ache on my right side, just within my pelvis yesterday and today which of course could be nothing but I am going to pretend its OV pain for now!

those who are temping - is it just a regular under the tongue thermometer or an in the ear one? I guess you need digital to get the level or accuracy needed?

mummyofonesofar · 16/01/2015 09:19

I've got a boots own under the tongue digital one. But this opening was my first temping day so hopefully in a months time I will have got my head around it!

gaggaforababa · 16/01/2015 09:56

Hey ladies,
I'm jumping on the bus! I'm out for Jan now :(
Been trying since Sept, well last depo would have been due start of Sept. I've had one real period in December and just started again :(
Fx this will be my lucky month!
Got a pack of opk sticks on the way from amazon :)

tessiegirl · 16/01/2015 10:05

Morning everyone! Grin

CD4 here....bit boring but nice thing is that as I don't temp for first few days of AF at least I don't have to wake up too early!!

So...just to add to the temping info....I take my temp every morning at 7am, its very important that you take your temp at the same time every morning (I set my alarm for 7am even at the weekends! Ugh! Then go back to sleep!) and before you get out of bed. I leave my thermometer on my bedside table so I can take temp whilst I'm still half asleep as its the BBT you are looking at, which is basically your temperature at rest. Plot your temps on a chart or use an app like fertility friend. You should start seeing a rise in your temps around ovulation and then ovulation can be confirmed as happening the day before your first temp rise. For ovulation to be confirmed fertility friend needs three consecutive temp rises (I'm not sure about other apps). On your chart a pattern should be seen as your post ovulation temps are higher than your pre ovulation temps. These temps will stay high until they either start to drop a day or so before AF is due or they will stay elevated which means you are pregnant. Phew! Hope that all makes sense! Please ask if confused! Smile

tessiegirl · 16/01/2015 10:06

Oh and just to add - I got my thermometer from Amazon and its a BabyMad one... for around £5 I think

RubyReins · 16/01/2015 11:13

Hello all, may I join please? I am not yet out for January although I had a BFN on a FRER this morning so it is looking that way. AF is four days late according to FF but it could only be a couple of days really. I have been making attempts to temp and although I had the reassuring peaks my temp has dipped below the cover line and is now just above it so I am not at all hopeful for this month. I didn't use OPKs this cycle but DTD loads. I had a plethora of symptoms too! Still do. So! Onwards and upwards!

My stats: 36 years, TTC #2, 3rd month of trying, currently on CD 41, usual cycle length in the region of 38 days

Good luck all - bloody trying isn't it?!

Wishing123 · 16/01/2015 11:14

Hi all been TTC for 9 months but had 3 mc with previous partner very early on. Need to do 3 blood tests this month and had DF sperm results yesturday and everything was fine except he had 1% morphology Confused
Normal apparently is 4%. My AF should be due round about 1st of feb. Started taking folic acid yeaturday and I think i ovulated yeaturday so fingers crossed.
Anyone had BFP with 1% morpholgy? Or know anyone as feel a little deflated

mummyofonesofar · 16/01/2015 11:54

Sorry to see people having to leave the January bus but onwards and upwards with the next cycle!

Good luck everyone.

Does anyone have recommendations for apps? I had M.Cycles for simple tracking before we were trying to get an idea of cycle lengths and now I have Ovia but it does temps in F rather than C so this morning when I took my temp I then had to find an online conversion calculator to work it out (which at 06:45 was hard work!)

Sweets27 · 16/01/2015 12:15

Hi all,

Mind if I join you? :)

I am 29, TTC #1, cycle 1, AF due 6 February (not sure when that means BFP due - I guess that day? Unlikely to test til a week or so late, though.)

Very exciting to join the Feb bus - my first!

Sweets27 · 16/01/2015 12:16

Should have said - fingers tightly crossed for everyone on the bus! :)

nightandthelight · 16/01/2015 12:33

Wow sweets if you are able to hold off testing for one week after AF is due I will have to ask you for lessons in willpower! I am going to have to force myself to wait until the day AF is due.

Welcome to the bus :)

Sweets27 · 16/01/2015 12:37

Well, nightandthelight it's my first time ttc so I'm maybe being naive about how excited I'll be!

Thing is, I have some friends and have seen people posting on here who tested very early and got a BFP but had an early mc really soon. In a way, I'd rather not know about that, and only find out about being pg once implantation etc is all sorted out. I'd hate to get really excited about BFP and then it all comes to nothing. Is that silly?
