Hi Bouncybabe is it the Onestep ones you've ordered? I used these for the first time this cycle. My cycle is 30-33 days and I think it said to start testing from Day 13 for a 30 day cycle, but yeh it does say on the instructions. Also says a positive is test line nearly as dark, as dark, or darker than the control line. I had a faint line every day that took about 5 mins to slowly appear and then one day it was nearly as dark and appeared in a few minutes, the next day the same colour and appearing in about a minute and then the next day darker and appearing at same time as the control line...so not sure what actually counted as first day of surge, but anyway, that's how they work! It will be quite obvious when you get a positive. I was worried I wouldn't be able to tell, but was very clear.

weeblueberry · 08/07/2014 22:02

Ovulation kit is positive today....and DP is away on business til Friday. Grr!!

We DTD last night so everyone pray for slow swimmers lol.

Scoop77 · 08/07/2014 22:26

Hi, I'm also trying for no2! It's our first month trying, and I'm already too giddy! Love how we both agreed we will just see what happens.. No pressure ... What will be will be! Who was I kidding in already in here and wanting to buy opks! X

Bobs76 · 08/07/2014 22:40

I did an OPK earlier this evening & no sign of ovulation, this is the 4th day of tests & last month got my positive on 4th day, I shouldn't worry as my cycles aren't the same every month but I can't seem to help worrying that it might not have worked for some reason. To make things worse I said to my DP should we DTD anyway & he said basically said No! So feeling a bit upset. Sorry I just had to get this off my chest Sad

Blondie276 · 08/07/2014 23:44

Bobs don't apologise , That would annoy me too !
My DH told me today he doesn't like DTD on demand ! Kind if difficult to avoid when TTC and doing OPKs when he works shifts!
So on that topic- got my positive OPK today- when should I be DTD- have done for last 7 days so should I for new few? Ie. tmrw and thurs? Would that be enough?
Hope we are all feeling positive this month ladies- I can feel good baby dust vibes ;)

Bobs76 · 09/07/2014 08:34

thanks for your understanding Blondie Yeh it is previous to doing the OPK's we just DTD mid cycle, he's being really hard work at the min but when you're TTC you have to do what it takes.

The doc said to me to try & do it 3 times at time of ovulation, there are only 2 days of your cycle that you can get pregnant anyway so if my OPK is positive later today then I'd DTD tonight & tomorrow night but don't know where we'd fit in a 3rd DTD. However don't they say that semen can survive in your body for up to 2 weeks so even if you DTD before ovulation there's a chance you can get PG. sounds like you're in with a good chance I could never get my DP to DTD that often.

Blondie276 · 09/07/2014 08:49

Yes it can bobs- can last atleast a few days so you might well be ok.
I got my positive yesterday evening so that's good news , however I'm also temping but my thermometer has been all over the place ( sometimes will give me totally different readings straight after each other!)
Anyone know when I should see a rise? I didn't see one this morning but only got a positive opk last night so any ideas?
This is all so complicated ! It's almost making it more stressful!

Life2012 · 09/07/2014 10:13

Hi blondie I'm temping too I have shared a picture of my graph. Stating to FF I'm 12dpo and just got yet another BFN this morning I'm starting to lose hope Sad AF is due between Friday/Saturday.

I got my positive OPK on CD17 my temp rose soon after that and have been staying above the coverline for the past 12 days. Can I ask whether you are using any app for your temping?

GL to everyone xx

trying for number 2 !!!
Blondie276 · 09/07/2014 10:22

Oh thank you life- no I just printed off a blank chart and have been drawing on that. I got a v strong positive opk today so guess I will hopefully see a rise either tmrw it next day?

With my DD I was testing negative right up until AF was due so there is still hope yet! Fingers crossed for you! X

Life2012 · 09/07/2014 10:48

Ooh sounds like you need to get busy tonight with lots of DTD - I would say that you should definitely see a rise either tomorrow or Friday but most likely tomorrow if it's a very strong OPK. All the best of luck Smile

Thanks for the reassurance blondie with my first he was a wonderful surprise therefore I didnt have none of this 2WW, temping & OPKs I was simply late with my AF and took a test. I'm hoping you are right and that my hormone levels still need to rise but I'm not hopeful because I keep reading plenty of ladies having BFPs around 11/12dpo Sad

Blondie276 · 09/07/2014 12:15

I think it can all depend on implantation so time will tell.
I know I had a similar with DD- just guessed OV and fell first month. No opk or temping. By god does it start to make things stressful.
I'm hoping my temps will indicate OV as I don't think I have over the last few months since my AFs returned post partum. Having my body back to 'normal' would greatly assist towards the next BFP and I'm hoping it will be sooner than later as I can't help but get wound up about it like SO many on here have said.
Hope we all have good news by the end of the month Smile

MaMaPo · 09/07/2014 12:37

Hello, can I join? My husband and I are ready to try for number two - we sort of tried last cycle but it was a bit haphazard, so this is the first 'proper go'. Our DD is 19 months, and like lots of you she was conceived incredibly easily - within the first 2 months, I think. I'm 36 now and much more scared that it will be a long wait until number 2 is conceived. Since DD was most the vast majority of my female friends have undergone miscarriages (often multiple), ectopics, started IVF etc. After talking to all of them I have lost a lot of optimism and feel quite pessimistic about conceiving, even though there's nothing to suggest we'll have much trouble.

Anyway. I wish all of you well and hope to hear good news from you soon!

ChristinaYang · 09/07/2014 15:56

Fingers crossed for you Life2012!

Well I'm 3DPO today. Last week on CD8/9 I was getting a low reading on my CBFM but had lots of ewcm, thankfully i trusted my body and dtd on CD8. I went straight from low to peak on CD10 Shock. So we BD all around the peak days and the day after so hopefully we're covered Grin

Life2012 · 09/07/2014 16:24

Welcome MaMaPo hope you'll find this thread reassuring (I know I do) are you going to start TTC this month then? How exciting Smile My DH and I have been properly TTC for 2 months now - currently waiting to see if I've been successful this month.

Baby dust to all xx

FizzyBoobly · 09/07/2014 20:23

Hi all, just been given the go ahead from DH to start TTC #2 so have headed straight to MN to find you lovely lot! DD has just turned 14months and is not the easiest of babies which is why it's taken so long for him to come round to the idea.

We also conceived first time with her, reading through the thread there seems to be a lot of us! We DTD without being careful at around the right sort of time this month (weren't officially trying) and currently on CD25 out of 29-30 so am hoping we might have a 'happy accident!'

Am terrible with symptom spotting too. Felt a bit nauseous this morning... Good luck to you all and hoping to hear of some BFPs!

Scoop77 · 09/07/2014 23:05

Just wondering what age gap everyone is hoping for?
This has been a hot topic in our house x

Blondie276 · 09/07/2014 23:18

Scoop my DD is 6 months and I was hoping for as small gap as poss ( mental to some!) however it is getting larger as time goes on!
What are your thoughts?

Scoop77 · 09/07/2014 23:24

My little girl just turned two so hoping for under 3 year gap.... I'll be very lucky if I get it! X

ladyflower23 · 10/07/2014 08:12

I was/am hoping for a 3-4 year age gap. If i can fall in the next couple of months DS would be around 3.5 years. Perfecto (so of course it won't happen for another 5 years)....

Scoop77 · 10/07/2014 08:40

I'm the same lady flower, starting trying earlier than we originally planned just in case x

Life2012 · 10/07/2014 09:36

I'm the same - hoping for a 3 years gap. My DS will be 2 in September so if I manage to get pregnant this summer it would be perfect Smile

GingerbreadBabyPlease · 10/07/2014 09:37

Morning everyone, I have had to take the day off work today as DD isn't very well, poor little sausage. CBeebies day today I think!
I was hoping for a 2.5 year age gap, DD is now 2.8 and at this point I will be grateful if it's less than a 5 year age gap. In reality the thought of having a newborn baby as well as dealing with DD now would just be so hard, but I am so desperate for a baby. I've heard that either a small age gap or a much bigger one is ideal, 2.5 year gap is the hardest one to deal with!
CD11 here, aiming to dtd every other day, but have failed already!!

GingerbreadBabyPlease · 10/07/2014 09:38

Scoop I wish we'd started trying earlier, I started trying when I wanted it to happen within 3 months, hoping it would happen straight away as DD was conceived month 2. If I ever have another one, I think I will start trying again as soon as possible, I would like at least 3 children!

MaMaPo · 10/07/2014 11:33

scoop I don't think we're too fussed here. We started trying again now just because it felt like the right time. If we conceive in the next few months then the age gap will be around 2.5 years.

I am trying to be cool about conceiving but damn it I have started symptom-spotting. Period is due in 6 days and I need to wee constantly. But of course I have been drinking loads of fluid today so it explains it perfectly. Bah!

FizzyBoobly · 10/07/2014 12:08

Hoping for a 2-3 year gap here so we've started a bit early but like some of you have said maybe that's a good thing. Am bridesmaid for my best friend next July though so if we don't get lucky soon we might put TTC on hold for a couple of months. Although I've been arguing with DH as to why we should put our lives on hold for just one day?? MaMaPo, I'm with you with the symptom spotting, am due Monday (ish) but yesterday mornings nausea hasn't returned today Hmm
