o dear o dear, I'm away this weekend on a long planned visit to see my brother and I feel I am going to miss the ovulation window... last af started 4 Feb, last cycle was 30 days but it is usually 28 days... do you usually ovulate 10 or 14 days after first day of af?

Have crampiness... must go see what dr google says... sigh

Oh my gosh DG how brilliant! congratulations! Let's hope this trend continues in the coming weeks...

I'm also an older lady - 39 years young. I'm in my ovulation window at the moment. So shagging a lot but it's all very functional maybe I should try and inject a bit of romance into it all.

wilting I think you're supposed to ovulate 14 days before your AF is due. So in a 28 day cycle that would be day 14 yes. My cycle is 30 days so I'm supposed to ovulate day 16, which is -yikes! - today I think! Hey and it's Valentine's... maybe this is a good sign. Maybe it's just another thing to get my hopes up.

I disappeared for a while but am back in full force now entering that terrible 2ww period in a few days I guess. Baby dust for all.
x

Can I ask how long you've all been ttc'ing? It's been 11 months for us, with 2 MCs. But I'm forever optimistic.

Aw mabelmay I am sorry to hear that. I've only recently talked the dh into it so this is only cycle 2. Got pg v easily the last 2 times so I am hopeful albeit older. Anxious to get going as I'm sure you are, not getting any younger etc etc.

Was it hard for you to conceive the last 2 times?

wilting - no I conceived almost immediately with both previous pregnancies (wasn't even trying that hard, to be honest - hadn't got to the point of even knowing about my cycle or ovulation etc) - so this is all a bit new to me and a little unnerving. However, I developed endometriosis after my 2nd child and also have had to have 2 c-sections so I think the endo or scarring on my uterus may be causing some problems. I'm getting it checked out this week and if I don't conceive this cycle I'm going to have a laparoscopy.
How old are your other two?

MabelMay · 15/02/2014 15:40

When I say both previous pregnancies I mean my 2 DCs of course. My two pregnancies last year which ended in MC were also conceived v quickly, which is what's so strange. Since then - August - absolutely nada. Zilch. Hard to fathom.

wiltingfast · 16/02/2014 19:19

God that is odd. Glad you are getting it checked out. My two are almost 3 and 4.5. I had 2 sections also. Really should have tried earlier than this but dh wasn't keen and tbh I wasn't as sure as I was when we planned dc2.

I do hope it comes together for us all. Maybe this will be our lucky month. Though I think I may have scuppered this month by being away.

Hi wilting and anyone else who's still hanging around. Wilting I also think I have scuppered this cycle. It may sound ridiculous - but we've had family staying and the day I think I ovulated I was so f88king knackered when we got into bed that I couldn't bring myself to have sex. Isn't that pathetic? When I want this 3rd child so much. I just couldn't do it - not the next night either - was just so totally exhausted. And the morning would normally have been an option but everyone was up so early and guests staying so we couldn't really do anything about it...! But we did DTD a few times in the days leading up, so maybe I'm still in with a small chance... Hmm

How is everyone else doing? I'm now at the start of the 2ww I guess. yet again.

Me too, me too Mabelmay. We only managed to do it flippin' once in the fertile window, right towards the end, on od I think, so not hopeful and no, I don't feel pg yet Grin.

Report
MabelMay · 20/02/2014 17:48

Me neither wiltingfast - don't feel any thing remotely pg-like - no sore boobs, no cramps or twinges... But then I've had all those symptoms quite a lot in recent cycles and which have all ended with BFNs so am starting to learn they're fairly meaningless for me. At least now we're past the ovulation window it's beyond our control for this cycle - leaving it in fates hands yet again. When is your AF due ish? I guess mine is 2nd March given short feb.

Report
wiltingfast · 20/02/2014 18:02

I think 4 Feb. Am assuming my usual 28 dc as do was last tues which fits. Trying trying not to think about it at all until next mon... hah, unlikely. I really hope you get yours mabelmay.

MabelMay · 21/02/2014 17:35

I guess you meant 4th March, wilting. Sorry about delay inresponses - I'm in the US at the moment so 8 hours behind. I feel so NOT pregnant that I'm pretty sure this isn't my month. I think we missed our window. All because I couldn't be arsed to shag. What a loser. Blush Good luck to you too Wilting. Keep me/us posted.

The real question is how are YOU getting on DG?! Are you 2m in yet?

I'm just obsessing over every minor cramp in my belly but no real pg symptoms and I'm almost a week post od now. Ah well...

Good luck with scan DG! I'm just like you, wilting, pretty convinced not PG (our timing was so off this cycle) but still despite my better judgement find myself looking out for little twinges, sore boobs etc. I had a tiny bit of nausea over a 48 hour period and was suddenly a little bit 'maybe, maybe'... But have kicked some sense into myself now. Am starting to think it may never happen. But hoping good things for all of you. AF due Sunday so all will be clear then x

Good luck MM!

I had some stretching pains last week but nothing else and nothing now. Also, am now spotty. Pah. So definitely don't feel pregnant.

Have bought those damn conception vitamins for the next cycle, am such a sucker Blush

Maybe it will be Christmas babies for us....

Hey all (when I say all, I think you're the only one checking this any more wilting) - AF due tomorrow; big sore boobs - which I've learnt means nothing now as I seem to get it before period or pregnancy. I'll let you know if/when it comes in case you're still checking in. Sorry for being do sporadic - we've just been on hols.
How are you doing now wilting? Are you still symptom spotting? Anyone else? I'm trying to keep a blank mind about it all as I've has so much disappointment over the last 12 months I daren't even hope any more. But every month that little chink of hope comes back.
Yes, wilting, cosy Xmas babes perhaps! xx

Nah, tbh I'm just waiting on the af so I can move on. Fingers crossed for you tho, you're defintely due a bfp. I'll be checking back to see! Xx

MM, my af arrived this morning, 2 days early.

How are you doing?

Wilting - bummer. sorry to hear about AF although sounds like you were expecting it - at least it's earlier so you can get onto the next cycle sooner.

My AF is late, I have sore boobs and nausea but I daren't test yet - I don't know why - I guess I don't want the bfn and I've had so much hope followed by swift disappointment recently. If AF still not here tomorrow I think I'll POAS. Wa due sat or sun... Am trying not to get hopes up. Yet.

Thanks wilting - the more time goes by without AF appearing the more I allow myself to hope. And then I kick myself for doing it.
But yes, whilst there's no AF, there's a little chink of light. Will keep you posted.
