okay I hope I'm not treading on anyone's toes but as the proud owner of a July AF I'm posting early. Any seconders for a BFP filled August are very welcome.

Is my bday in August so fingers crossed. And by my calculations my ov this month should tie in with dh's 30th birthday.

so paws crossed

Hi Ladies, hot enough for you??
Welcome to Bellie.
Well, af is arsing around - threatening and then not appearing, then appearing a bit - sorry TMI! I just wish it would get on with it, so I can then get on with the job in hand! Although have to agree that the thought of bd'ing in this weather is not a pleasant one!
Well done to d2bm and her dh for keeping going.

My pre seed arrived today, so am looking forward to using that after af has been and gone!!

Must run - well more crawl.

Bellie · 19/07/2006 18:07

Thanks for the welcomes ladies! - It will be good to be able to talk about ttc with other people - all me friends are pregnant at the moment and conceived really easily!

Mind you my heart goes out to all those with fertile weeks this week - I am pleased that DH is away so I don't even have to share a bed with another hot body

Beccy1974 · 19/07/2006 18:50

40 degrees!! where abouts r u beccy?
we are in bedfordshire and its 32 degrees here.
i have been getting small pains today on my left handside a bit like a stitch..could this be ovulation? i have never been looking for these signs before. when i got in i did a cheap ov test from ebay and it shows negative.

bobblehead · 19/07/2006 20:46

SOL have you tested yet? Are you sure you're not pregnant?

Welcome Bellie

Beccy1974 · 19/07/2006 20:52

i'm in surrey - admittedly 40 was on car 'outside temp gauge' but am sure it was close to it outside. cooled down a good deal between 5 and 7 though

desperate2bemum - that sounds like ov to me; the tests don't seem to be that reliable though

Yes..SOL...have you done a test??
C'mon...we all want to know now!!!

Becky..thank you for caring about me...I felt a trifle ill with the heat and thought that I would just quietly slip into a little puddle somewhere!!!

Good to know that my inane waffle was missed!!!

coggy · 19/07/2006 21:19

LOL at all this preseed arriving on doormats across the country!!!

Maybe we should have a positive preseed thread??!!

Any ideas for a catchy thread title?!!
(cos I'm not on 6 billion threads already honestly!! )

pendulum · 20/07/2006 07:06

OK, so this is weird...

Am on CD26 of 33ish day cycle (since stopping Pill 3 months ago cycles have been longer but getting back to my previous 32/ 33 days- or so I thought!)

Bled last night after sex. More than "spotting" but less than AF starting. Since then, nothing overnight.

Have no idea what is going on! I have never had a cycle below 30 days before and do not feel premenstrual. Any similar experiences?

Bellie · 20/07/2006 13:28

Hi pendlum,
not wanting to get hopes up too much but could be an implantation bleed?? However I had some bleeding and spotting at cd25 on a 28 day cycle - got my hopes up and AF arrived on day 29
On the other hand, could be that you just overdid the sex a bit .

By the way - everyone is talking about preseed - what is it?

coggy · 20/07/2006 14:32

Pendulum...again, don't get your hopes up but....I had a bleed after going on a treadmill on CD24 of a 28day cycle. Thought AF had come early and used a tampon.

Only about half a small tampon amount (weird the things you rememeber eh??!!) then tested for no real reason on CD28 and found out I was pg with my ds.

I actually knew nothing about implantation bleeds etc and thought while I was pg that the bleed could have been a warning sign of an early m/c caused by me running but now I have learnt lots more about ttc!!!

Here's hoping....

Bellie....preseed is a lubricant like KY Jelly but it is made so that sperm can swim through it. KY and most otheres are too gloopy I think and can actually stop sperm in it's tracks!
It's quite expensive stuff and is less than romantic because you have to squirt it up you (??!!) but lots of people swear by it.
HTH.

muminamini · 20/07/2006 15:57

Hi folks
Sorry I've not been around for a few days. Had a horrible few days and not felt like speaking to anyone. My next door neighbour lost her baby on Tuesday, she was 35 weeks pregnant. It has been a horrible shock and devastating to think of what they are going through. She is coming home today, her sleeping angel was born yesterday afternoon.

It's made me feel really apprehensive about trying for another baby. I know that these things thankfully are very rare and there will be some reason for it but it has made me put things into perspective a bit for me. I am determined to really try and chill out about the whole ttc thing and see if that helps.

Welcome to all the new people who have joined and I hope this turns out to be a lucky month for so many of us.

Don't mean to be doom and gloom but just wanted to explain why I've been so quiet
x

Natty1806 · 20/07/2006 16:10

sorry to hear that

pendulum · 20/07/2006 17:19

Sorry Muminamini, what a horrible shock. It just goes to show, worrying about TTC is only the very beginning, a mum will never stop worrying throughout the pregnancy and then for the rest of the child's life.

BTW I have now been bleeding heavily all day- either AF come 8 days early for the first time in 20 years of periods or a very early M/C (I was planning to test this weekend). Will never know which one, although I suspect the latter since I have been feeling increasigly sick for the last few days and it has abruptly stopped. But to look on the bright side, at least it's the beginning of a new cycle- here's to a positive August for most of us (and a positive July for bobblehead and Nicki!)

Sexonlegs · 20/07/2006 18:06

Hi all, and MIAM, I was sorry to hear about your neighbour - really sad news.

Well,I must apologise for my lack of communication- keeping you all in suspense!
We keep losing our internet connection for some reason, which is incredibly annoying.
Anyway, the upshot is that af arrived FOR SURE this morning, however, blow me down I did a test and it was neg - no surprise really, just a waste of money!

Anyway, my book arrived today, and I have bought dh some zinc and selenium tablets, and myself some grapefruit juice, so we are all set for a positive August! Strangely enough, I dreamed that I had a baby boy last night!

Anyway, need to head off for now.

Fingers crossed to all those who could still have positive July's, and see you back on here later.

Hugs to all. xx

Sexonlegs · 20/07/2006 18:08

Pendulum, I am sorry, I didn't read your post. I am really sorry to hear about your suspected m/c; will be thinking of you. xx

pendulum · 20/07/2006 18:52

Don't worry SOL, it was too early and too much of a "hunch" for me to be overly upset about it- would have been different if I had already had a positive test.

I'm disappointed of course but onwards and upwards.... and at least the fancy pants my DH bought "for conception purposes" will get a chance to earn their keep....

Thanks for your kind wishes though xx

bobblehead · 20/07/2006 18:54

Sorry Pendulum good luck for August though

My book still hasn't arrived! I wanted it for the start of next cycle too, suppose I'v still nearly a week though.
Does the grapefruit juice have to be some special sort from health food stores, or just regular carton from supermarkret?

No news here anyway, no symptoms so just waiting for af.

Sexonlegs · 20/07/2006 19:56

Hi there. Bobblehead, can't believe your book hasn't arrived yet! Didn't I say you will either get your af or bfp before it shows up!!
As far as I know, it is just regular juice from the supermarket - nothing fancy. I had hoped to find grapefruit mixed with some other fruit, as I really do hate grapefruit, but needs must and all that. Perhaps I will add some of the preseed to it - ha ha ha!!!
Finges crossed to you all. xx

bobblehead · 20/07/2006 20:31

Pre seed and grapefriut YUM!!!!

So my plan for cd1 is as follows

Get dh some zinc (maybe selenium (sp?)too)
Get me some evening primrose and grapefruit juice
Start using my scope again, but this time write down a description of what I see each day so I can look for a pattern in the following months
Use opk.s from day 18-22 (and adjust as necessary)

Almost gives me something to look forward to with af coming as I can mount my obsessive campaign to be preggers.
Dh has also agreed to be more "supportive" (ie have sex when told) if I support his bodybuilding program more, so I've been cooking up lots of yams and vats of mince!

bobblehead · 20/07/2006 20:31

Suppose I should remember to have lots of sex too

Sexonlegs · 20/07/2006 21:17

yams and mince - eughhhh!!
I have started reading "the book" this evening, and my God! It is very good.
I am now concerned about the ewcm I get, as it certainly is nothing like the amount I used to get. It's funny isn't it, that when one isn't thinking about ttc, stuff happens and you don't bat an eye lid. Now I am watching everything!! I used to get rivers of the stuff!!
Oh well.
Back to the book....

Nicki10 · 20/07/2006 21:23

Well I've been very naughty and had 2 bottles of beer tonight! I haven't been drinking just in case I could be pregnant but I don't think I am and it was so hot and I just thought oh sod it!

Well I'm with you on that Bobblehead I have the Zinc and the grapefruit juice ready and there's a bit in the book to chart temps on so it's all go come my AF!.

Where does everyone take their temperature from?

pendulum · 20/07/2006 21:30

Rectum of course

Not really. Not sure whether to go with the whole temps thing next cycle. On one hand makes me feel as though I am taking control, geeting in touch with body etc. On other hand I have heard that more or less anything from a late night to a unit of alcohol can b*gger up the readings. Don't know how it would cope with my wild lifestyle, I didn;t go to bed until 10.30 last night

But seriously, I quite often have to leap out of bed before even waking up to reinsert DD's dummy/ retrieve blanket or stuffed moose from floor, so don't know about my chances of sitting still with thermometer in gob for 5 minutes

Gosh I am quite loquacious tonight. Must be the chardonnay I have sunk in compensation for arrival of bleeding!
