okay I hope I'm not treading on anyone's toes but as the proud owner of a July AF I'm posting early. Any seconders for a BFP filled August are very welcome.

Is my bday in August so fingers crossed. And by my calculations my ov this month should tie in with dh's 30th birthday.

so paws crossed

melrose · 10/07/2006 10:10

Can I join, have waited till now to start trying again as wanted to take advantage of new mat laws in April (due date after 1st april = 9 months stat mat pay not 6!) AF now, so hoping for August too. Any advice on best way to go? Sex every day in fertile time? Will be my second but did not really try with DS!

Sexonlegs · 10/07/2006 10:12

Many congrats eldestgirl - wishing you a happy and healthy pregnancy!x

Nicki10 · 10/07/2006 10:14

Beccy1974 · 10/07/2006 11:41

hi luckylady

i had my mirena out 26 apr

got first light af (felt more like cystitis) about a week later, and then 31 days later normal af, then 2nd one 31 days later

point of message (you may wonder) just that i was curious as to what would happen and wasn't much info about. i know it varies from person to person. but also to let you know that things can go back to normal quite quickly -

finally GOOD LUCK

new maternity laws? i wasnt aware of this...so anfter 1st april any babies born the mum is entitled to 9 months maternity pay? any idea on extended leave after that?

Piffle · 10/07/2006 14:10

I'll most likely be on board in 8 days time when af is due.
I'll also be on my first cycle of Clomid so here is adoubly hoping

Natty1806 · 10/07/2006 14:23

Hi desperate2mum

i think that when the new rule come in in April 07 it will be as follows

Mothers- 6 months increased to 9 months i still think you are then allowed to take 3 or 6 month unpaid after the 6 months paid currenty it is 6 but not sure if they reduced it down to 3 as the paid allowed time off has increase.

Fathers- currently 2 weeks paid paternity leave this will increase to 3 months i think so that if you decide to take the first 6 months off they can take the follwoing 3, not too sure on the ins and outs of this, but can find out if you require more info.

This also applies to adoption leave.

hth and i hace not confussed you.

desperate2bmum · 10/07/2006 14:44

thanks natty.
thats great news that the time is extended i always thought 6 months was too short.
my dp has his own business so the paternity leave part wont apply to him. i will have4 a read up on it online theres bound to be some info.
thanks for the reply

Natty1806 · 10/07/2006 14:51

Yeah you will be able to find all the info you need on line, i also think there is a web site called direct.gov or something and that is usually helpful.

desperate2bmum · 10/07/2006 15:13

thanks for that will have a peep although got months to sort it all out yet

eldestgirl · 10/07/2006 15:45

Thank you to everyone. I still can't quite believe it!

tryingtohard · 10/07/2006 15:50

eldestgirl, congrats so pleased for you!

luckylady · 10/07/2006 16:45

Thanks Becky1974, I have been wondering about that.
xx

melrose · 11/07/2006 12:10

Rellay ahrd to foind any info about mat law changes online, as not officially law yet, been through all procedures in gov but awiting royal assent which will happen in Oct. I ahd heard something on the news ages ago and wanted to check before ttc, so contacted the gov, got this e-mail back

Thank you for your query. I can confirm that the Work and Families Bill has progressed through the House of Commons and the House of Lords.
Before the Bill receives Royal Assent we have to go to a final stage in the Commons - Commons Consideration of Lords Amendments and we are waiting for a date for this.

It is expected that the extension of maternity pay from six to nine months will come into force on 1 October 2006, applying to those women whose expected week of childbirth is on or after 1 April 2007.

The new rights to Additional Paternity Leave will not come in at the same time. The Government has not announced exactly when they will be introduced but has said it will be at the same time as the extension of maternity pay to a year, which they have committed to do by the end of the Parliament.

HTH!

desperate2bmum · 11/07/2006 14:09

i couldnt findmuch online about it either.
i cant wait to give up my part time job..have made it fully clear to them we are trying for a baby again. work are very supportive.
i am on cd5....time is dragging!!
my ov sticks and pg tests arrived this morning from ebay...am very pleased with them. not bad getting 20 sticks for £6 inc postage

Angsthase · 11/07/2006 14:31

D2bm - what brand are they? May get onto Ebay myself.

Great news about the law!

desperate2bmum · 11/07/2006 15:31

angsthase, the lady i brought them from gave me her website
its www.babymad.co.uk
10 ov sticks for £2.98
10 pg test sticks for £2.98
i just thought id give them a whirl and save myself some pennies as i always dash out to buy clearblue (havehad bad exp with cheaper ones in past)
these ones are merely just sticks and are ce approved but do not know the make of them. they are similar to what the epu clinic used on me.

desperate2bmum · 11/07/2006 15:33

oh if you wanna check them on ebay the sellers name is lookersgirl.

coggy · 12/07/2006 12:52

Hi....I'm coming over to join you!
CD27 of a (fairly) regular 28 day cycle and just had a BFN on a clearblue test. {sad]

Not surprised really as we haven't actually seen much of each other this past month so would have been a freaky pg if it had happened!! ....you can't help hoping though can you??!!

Just read my first post on here - how sad!! Posted on the 4th of July and said 'see you in a week or two'!! Well here I now am!!

Natty1806 · 12/07/2006 13:10

Get back to July until your AF arrives coggy - it might be too early. x

coggy · 12/07/2006 14:41

LOL at you Natty!!!
Seem to remember another comment like that not so long ago!!!!!

....however....MAJOR period pain now so I think it's definitely a done deal.
So weird how doing a pg test gets AF going!!!!

coggy · 12/07/2006 14:42

What were you doing on here anyway!!!!!!

desperate2bmum · 12/07/2006 14:57

i just clicked on a website and have downloaded an ovulation calender...its very good lol
www.ovulation-calender.com

Natty1806 · 12/07/2006 16:23

Coggy - Period pain does happen when you are preg i think, but like you say nothing like spending £8 on preg test to bring on AF. LOL
