A new thread for all you lovely, crazy ladies. Here's to lots of BFPs!

OP posts:
CamomileHoneyVanilla · 19/07/2013 07:15

Hey there. Just popping by to say good luck to anyone poas today! Hope we get some more on the grads thread. Also my DH was pooed on by a pidgeon the month we got our bfp. We joked at the time it was sure to mean I'd get pregnant! Actually first we joked we'd win euromillions, but after that sadly wasn't to be we decided it must be the bfp instead.

Good luck all!

CamomileHoneyVanilla · 19/07/2013 07:16

Oooo - read further up. Big congratulations Rainbow!

fedupofrainydays · 19/07/2013 07:33

Ah rainbow congrats! Amazing this is your third pregnancy this year... one fertile lady! 3rd time lucky this is a sticky one I'd say too. Fx.

Good luck to anyone POAS. Only sticks I'm peeing on are OPKs at the mo!

fedupofrainydays · 19/07/2013 07:43

Ps. Secretly hoping I get shat on today. Birds only please!

triplespin · 19/07/2013 08:29

No such luck here. POAS this morning - BFN as expected. Its probably a bit early anyway, but I don't think we had a good chance anyway.
So now waiting for AF to arrive - hope its sooner rather than later - so I know my cycle post mc is in order. Also want to start accupuncture / chinese medicine treatment but hoping AF arrives first and I can go armed with more info when I see them.
Did a bit of retail therapy online straight after (the BFN) though and bought a pair of shoes that I'd been meaning to get on sale !! 50% off - so very pleased with that. Lets hope now that they fit :)

cosmickitten · 19/07/2013 09:04

Sun dance I had some gynecological issues pre ttc. Just talk about the pain and how much it is worring you. It is not right to be pain like that. I found gp's put me off but once I pushed for a referral I had brilliant care. They sorted the gynecological problem ( cyst on my cervix) but did lots of while we're doing a scan we'll just check your other bits.

cosmickitten · 19/07/2013 09:08

Also huge congratulations rainbow :-)

It was bfn for me today but has its only 3 weeks since post mmc -ve test Im not surprised. Hoping next week will bring AF not good at waiting for it. ( unless there is a bfp that would amazing, but unlikely).

Sundance2007 · 19/07/2013 10:09

Haha - don't worry, I don't think we need to add pigeon poop to the list just yet, but if I do get a bfp this month, I'd love to hear stories about you all wondering into town to find a willing bird! I've bought 3 tickets for the euro millions tonight just in case my luck is in.

So, just got back from the docs, she was really thorough actually. It was embarrassing as I had to give a wee sample but I'd aready gone to the loo before I set off so couldn't go! I had to go back to reception and wait for half an hour with several glasses of water.

I'm booked in for some tests to rule out infection next week, and if all is clear there then I'll be sent for a scan. I tried to steer the conversation towards how do I get pregnant, but she just sort of said 'one step at a time', lets rule out the simple stuff first which is fair enough.

That said, it's looking and sounding like I might have endometriosis. If that's the case then they can give some fertility boosting treatments. I now need to do a bit of research on endometriosis!

Oh yes, also had to do a pg test there too - bfn but then its way too early to tell anyway. Good luck to anyone else poas today!

SeasideLily · 19/07/2013 11:28

Glad they're playing ball Sundance, what a bummer about the endometriosis, I'm sorry. I've just read that it occurs in 6 - 10% of women, I had no idea it was that common. I'm glad they can give fertility treatments if that is the diagnosis. How are you feeling?

Sundance2007 · 19/07/2013 14:36

Thanks Seaside. To be honest, I'm quite upbeat about it. I've always had the most horrendously painful periods anyway, to the point where several times I year I end up collapsed on the bathroom floor in agony, waiting for the pain killers to kick in - to me it makes sense that this would be an accurate diagnonis, and from what I've read so far, it's actually relatively easy to treat. If it is that, I'll just be so glad to get help fighting it off after all these years.

If it is that (and the doctor hasn't ruled out any sort of cycts, or scar tissue, infection etc), then I would have to go for a scan to confirm it was endometriosis, and then depending how severe it is, have keyhole surgery to laser out the problem area, which would mean I'm fighting fit for conceiving normally. The pain is only on one side every time, so hopefully my other side will get me pg soon anyway.

The ironic thing is, the best 'cure' for endometriosis, is to be pregnant! Brilliant. Just brilliant.

cosmickitten · 19/07/2013 15:10

Glad gp was helpful Sundance. Hope you don't have wait to long for a scan or some answers.

I'm in hairdressers getting pampered so I ll feel ready to face a family christening at the weekend. So so looking forward to all 'when are u having kids' questions. Dh and I have decided to simply say we would kids and its taking longer than we hoped. If people push will just be honest fed up of pretending we happily waiting for the right time.

I've just cried in hairdressers, my lovely hairdresser is pregnant. I found out today due to her lovely bump. She is due just 3 weeks before I was. It was such a visual reminder of what might have been. Luckily she is lovely and after a quick explanation we just chatted about her little one. Please not to be treated like the crazy lady who cant have babies despite the tears!!

SeasideLily · 19/07/2013 17:29

I hope you're ok Cosmic, everyone I see seems to be pregnant at the moment. It is hard. I'm really open about the ectopic, tbh - I think people generally don't talk about these things enough, and it's certainly nothing to be embarrassed about. I don't get asked very often, I think because none of my friends are anywhere near baby-stage, but I'd certainly tell anyone who was forward enough to ask about my procreation plans - they shouldn't ask if they don't want the truth.

That sounds really positive, sundance. It is a relief to have answers, and will be fab to remove the doubt and worry. Good luck with all the tests.

Penguinita · 19/07/2013 17:31

Are you resisting sal? I am, so far!

sazzababs · 19/07/2013 18:13

I'm only on page 4 and reading up but wanted to say hi before the thread explodes :) Miscarriage 4 started on Wed so I'm finding myself here with y'all :) mmc at 13 weeks last Aug, 2 chems this year and this one 6 1/2 weeks :/ Unsure whether the 2 chems will 'count' towards recurrent guidelines, but gonna try and butter up my GP on Mon for a referral, wish me luck!

Not joining any more buses or threads as it does my head in now. Plus, I don't post that much so can't really keep up :D Hope everyone is well and nae too sunburnt x

Sal1977 · 19/07/2013 19:00

Yep, I'm resisting as have been spotting today so think I'm out! Booooo!

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 19/07/2013 19:17

What CD are you on Sal?

RainbowConnections · 19/07/2013 20:14

Thanks for the congrats. Trying not to get too excited as such an early test. Hope it wasnt insensitive to say about 3 pregnancies this year (its not like its got me far!), realised after it was the wrong thing to say.
Sorry there's no BFPs today. Fingers crossed for rest of month.

DH was pooed on by pigeons 3 times in one lunch break in St James Pk.

Cosmic sounds like a nice hairdresser. Hope you look great and you and husband get on ok at christening.

SeasideLily · 19/07/2013 20:56

Hey, don't worry at all Rainbow - it's reassuring to know that occasionally sperm actually can meet egg and bury themselves in the right place. I need that reminder!

3 poos = 3 pregnancies! Grin

Thatssofunny · 19/07/2013 21:04

Thanks for the advice cosmic, penguinita and alyant. I think we'll start trying as soon as the brown stuff stops and I get a negative test (did one of the really early ones today and still get a faint result,...but looking likely to have gone completely by next week). Quite possibly ready to get going after our wedding, when we get back home. We are spending the week after the wedding at my parents' house, so not the best place to re-start ttc. Blush Grin But hey, we should still manage to start during the summer holidays.

cosmic Are you secondary? What kind of alternative education are you looking to go into? (I can't wait for the holidays!)

Trying to get some private medical cover at the moment. Let's see if there's anything we can get sorted. Was going to do this a few weeks ago, but then got the positive test and they wouldn't have covered the pregnancy anymore. Still want to go and see a gyno and don't understand why I need to see a nurse in this country or a GP...instead of a specialist doctor. I'm not seeing my GP for dental issues either, after all.

Penguinita · 19/07/2013 21:21

Oh boo sal, how cr$p. But maybe there is a small chance that it isn't AF?

Hi sazza, what a rotten run of luck you've had. You sound really positive though. Hope it turns round for you and goes well with the GP.

Hmm, honeymoon at the parents doesn't sound very romantic thatsofunny! Hope you have something a bit more private planned for later in the year.

We're gonna need a new thread soon... Shock

I think I ovulated today and DH isn't even here. Where is a syringe when you need one?!

kata i hope your DH is ok and MRI doesn't show up anything scary. But liking your new posifrickintivity.

Course not rainbow - it's just heartening to see some bfps! You give us hope!

sazza no buses here so you are in the right place. Sounds like you have had a really tough time. Good luck with the doctor.

Sal1977 · 19/07/2013 23:10

.Saggy I've had it yesterday and today which is 10&11dpo. I also spotted around OV which is odd for me. TBH I think if is a slow start to AF.

Kat try not to think the worst about your man, chances are its nothing. A serious health worry puts it all into perspective though doesn't it!? FX for you both. Xx

Penguin stay strong lovely, I think I'm out, but its not over til that fat cow AF properly arrives!!

Penguinita · 20/07/2013 08:38

I couldn't resist it, I POAS last night, BFN as expected Sad

Even though my head knew that would be the result from the signs, I can't help feeling disappointed. Especially as the first couple of cycles after MC are supposed to be the most fertile.

But I've cheered myself up by having an online shopping spree - so far today I have bought a CBFM, some sticks for it, ten pregnancy tests and two nail varnishes. And I've put an expensive bottle of white in the fridge for later. So I feel a bit better now Grin

Sorry to hear about your DH kat. At least they have picked it up early and are doing something about it. Fingers crossed for next week's results for you.

Trinpy · 20/07/2013 12:46

Sorry to hear about your dh kat. Hope the results are good.

penguin enjoy your wine tonight! I'm sure I read that there's several months after mc when youre more fertile, so next month could be your month.

Really regret not poas yesterday. I know I was told on here I should. Now on constant knicker-watch waiting for af to come.
